Iconic spot! People of all age groups will enjoy this touristy place. Guides are good and really humorous. Tickets are reasonably priced. Advance reservation is a must as the place is generally full. Hand sanitizers are kept at several places which is really good. They also have ample of parking spots!
It was the perfect visit. Ticket prices are reasonable and the tour is about 45 minutes. The hosts are young, very friendly and talkative. The experience is unique and strange. It really feels that you are on a different place as gravity does not work the same. It was a great stop on our way back from Santa Cruz to the Bay Area. Our tour guide, Nicholas, was fantastic, engaging, funny and energetic: made us laugh and enjoy the visit thoroughly. Highly recommended!
Our tour guide was entertaining very funny. It is a great place to go with family and friends to enjoy the nice scenery that Santa Cruz has to offer. Natural red wood trees that surround this place are amazing to see. They are open during Covid 19 but you must make reservations first. The guided tour took about 30 minutes lots of history and information regarding the mystery spot and they a gift shop on site that sells lots of souvenirs, snacks and food. Every person that visits get their renowned mystery spot bumper sticker.
My teenager suggested visiting here so we made a trip from Los Angeles with The Mystery Spot as our main destination. We both agree that it was worth it. Dawn was our guide and she was a great host. Everyone in our group had a great time thanks to her humor and information. It is a beautiful location as well. She also says that the hoodie she bought there is the most comfortable one she owns.
Little tourist trap nestled in the woods north of Santa Cruz. Centered around a physical anomaly in the hills that allows for the rules of physics to be bent. This includes standing at angles that are different than normal (wow!), and also letting people be taller or shorter based on physics and /not/ forced perspective. Thats what they say, anyways.Bring 5 bucks for parking or face a 2 dollar card surcharge.Quick little stop should have you in and out in around 45 minutes with ample time to spend your hard-earned cash in the gift shop. A beautiful little hiking trail begins from the same location if youd like to extend your stay in this quite beautiful little grove.
The Mystery Spot is a must visit if youre in the Santa Cruz area! Its a cheap, fun activity my buddies and I went to check out. They have friendly awesome associates!! Elizabeth was our tour guide and she did an amazing job! 10/10 would go again! TIP YOUR GUIDES!!!!
Very cool spot! Driving into the mystery spot felt like entering a different world and definitely gave me Gravity Fall vibes! My tour guide conner ( I think that’s how you spell it) was really fun and hilarious! They are really great at making sure everyone is wearing a mask properly and is safe! Great gift shop too and clean restrooms
I LOVED this little spot, I was unfortunately very nauseous this morning and I will give you a tip do not come here if you are at all feeling sick. However the reason why is because this place deserves your full (healthy) attention. The attraction is a short one but what I saw there blew my mind and I wish I could’ve enjoyed the experience more. I want to go back next time i’m in town!Thank you to the tour guides working hard to educate us on the property
Weird feeling of loosing the balance and total vertigo. ;) amazing place. Our guide Kana was amazing, funny, interactive and friendly!
So wonderfully bizarre. You cant explain it, you have to experience it. Super friendly guides.
The guides are hilarious. They are very punny. There is also a short trail to hike afterwards to enjoy the views of the hillsides and red woods.
Fun times for the entire family! Our tour guide, Aiden, was witty and wise as he shared the history and mystery of the spot. The hiking trails are a nice way to explore the woods before or after the tour.
Mystery Spot is a 30 minute inexpensive, unique destination that young and old will enjoy. Its basically a short tour where you can witness some interesting phenomenon. A little hands on stuff and participation in each tour. The guides are quick-witted, friendly and funny, even if theyre a little corny. There is a gift shop, and outside tables if you would like to pack a lunch as well.
So worth the $8. Its a freaking once in a lifetime experience. Its so trippy experiencing a place with warped gravity !! If youre ever in the Santa Cruz area, definitely visit this place
Had an awesome tour guide assigned to our group its a quite different experience one time visit. Theres also a nice small hiking trail right across the Mystery Spot you can hike for fun visited in 2014.
My husband and I found the tour to be fun and entertaining! -for reference, hes 29 and Im 26, so it is enjoyable for all ages! Our guide, Aidan, was hilarious and made the tour that much more fun.
The kids had the very best time on the tour. Our guide was incredible and super funny! Cant wait to come again.
Mystery spot is majorly surrounded with mystery and added with illusion and tech to awe you. The place is well kept to maintain greenery and woods and the guides are entertaining. They make the small memorable and fun-filled.
You will love taking a trip to The Mistery Spot. Special if your tour guide happens to be Connor, what a character he is he truly makes tour more enjoyable. I would advise to plan your trip accordingly and make sure to make reservations as they get super busy. Other than that, I totally recommend this The Mistery Spot. #thanksconnor
Always a great place to take family and kids. Never quite sure if its a real thing or its just the slant of the building on the hillside that overwhelms your senses. But its always fun and the kids love it. I was just a child when my folks took us there in the 1950s. Been back a number of times with kids and grandkids. And the price is still cheap compared to other activites. Eight bucks per person. Children under 3 are free and active military.
Amazing experience, even though because of gravity we got little dizzy. The team there are wonderful and very energetic.
Loved the tour guide, really cool dude made the whole experience worth it. He is the guy with the sleeve of tattoos. I wish I remembered his name he was awesome
Totally trippy. You gotta check it out. Without spoiling it for everyone all I can say is you should go experience it for yourself.
Fun place to come. Went on the tour and our guide Isabella was awesome. She kept it interesting and kept the crowd entertained. Definently would recommend.
I really enjoyed it with my friends! Our tour guide was really funny and friendly!
Incredible, so much fun! Our tour host was super funny.Wish we had longer to play around and take pictures.
Just something you need to experience at least once in your life.Theyre well organized. Bathroom, food are adequate. Nothing bad. Except for summer might be hard to get parking. As in the pics below, the gravity is reverse. To the right seems like its going up, but thats where the gravity pull you.Its a fun experience.
Even though hes a very short tour they make it very exciting and fun experience for the whole family even for my two year old that we will definitely go back. Hiking trail is short but just right to finish your visit!!
Very cool place...me and my wife had a great time!!Thanx Mystery spot crew
I am very disappointed for this visit i have visited here two times before never like this but this time instructor was very much unprofessional like they have to say this lines thats it no humor very 15 minutes new batch and not giving time for taking pictures . I felt very humiliated i ask ed her 1 min take picture i havent took she like other batch coming exit. they dont even spare 5 min in cabin in uphill for complete batch. they just want to complete batch asap thats it. i see in batch PEOPLE ARE NOT FOLLOWING SOCIAL DISTANCING and instructor dont even care about this just want to complete the batch.i request to spare minimum 5 min in cabin to look around .Please allow to take picture people come far from this location.
Surprisingly, it was a cool experience. For years Ive seen the bumper stickers & wondered what/where that place is. Not that Ill necessarily put on my truck, but Im a proud owner of 1 those stickers. Our groups tour guide was very entertaining.
What a great attraction!I havent been back here since I was a kid and it still holds up with my next generation. Always a great time for all ages to behold the mystery.
My teen suggested this place while in HMB and it was awesome! Pretty drive, about 15min from the boardwalk, affordable tour! Our guide Johnny was Seth Rogen funny, and definitely deserves a raise! Highly recommend! Y’all are fun!
I really didnt know what exactly to expect even after reading about it and theres no way to accurately describe how cool it is in person! Fun for most of the whole family, but you may want to think twice about bringing super young kids/toddlers and older people because there are some very dizzying areas that some may not be able to handle.
Please read if you have never come here. The road up to the SPOT is the most bumpy uneven tight road ever. Take it slow and leave your low rider at home, bring the SUV and hope its not that busy. Parking lot is limited and its dog eat dog. Prepare for extra time for people to leave and nab a spot. The tours are $8 per person and parking $5 a car. If you dont pre order online you will not get to go when you show up on a weekend. Be aware. If you wanted to use up some time the hiking trail is STEEP up hill a little flat and STEEP downhill. Be advised. But its a nice hike and uses up some time and energy. We never got to go on the tour, as we arrived at noon and the next group we could get was 3pm. So, one day will experience it. Enjoy!
What a great and affordable place to spend with the family! It’s a great learning experience for young kids and mind bender for adults! So interesting and the guides are amazing.
Hayley our tour guide was awesome! She accommodated us after we got stuck in traffic and wouldn’t make it in time ( give yourself plenty of time to get there!) she was funny and informative. Cool little spot to check out, we had a great time trying something different!
A beautiful fun place.Ups, downs and curves on the road makes the mood. To be visited once. Mystery or illusion cant say but guide makes it more interesting and funny. Sufficient parking. Clean restrooms. Entry $8 and parking $5.Approach road is rough.
Went there about a week ago with my 4 yr old son. I didnt think he would like it or even pay attention but our tour guide mia I think her name was. She was great!! She grabbed his attention right from the start and he even joined in on a couple demonstrations.. I loved her sarcastic humor and her jokes were the best. She deserves a raise lol.. I would forsure go back again...just a fyi for folks who have never been the drive is easy and beautiful but take it slow through their drive way its a bumpy one...not paved, dirt road lots of rocks and pot holes till u get to main parking lot.
Pretty cool place, beautiful redwood trees. Not a big place but the tour guide gave interesting info about it
Inexpensive tourist stop. I won’t pay more than they charge. You even have to pay for parking, which is ridiculous. It’s literally in a woody rocky area. The tour is short, a small circle into a lopsided wooden house. The tour guide made it hilarious and worth it.
We had a great experience at the mystery spot. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and funny. The tour took about 40 min. They have a gift shop and a small restaurant. Tickets were $8 and parking was $5
Amazing and mind blowing as usual. Its a must see and so cheap.
I enjoy it! Didnt have lots of photos coz I have my toddler with me but we enjoy it my son love it too. Highly recommend
This was a great adventure and entertainment on our stop through Santa Cruz! Our tour guide, Mo, was very entertaining and personable. We went on a weekday so it was not crowded at all and were able to spend time and not feel rushed. You won’t be disappointed in the cool atmosphere in the redwoods!Check out our Cali trip down Highway 1 on YouTube (Goswick Lane)
Fun little detour. Worth the $8 ticket
Ive heard about it never been there took my girlfriend for her Birthday nice experience mind-boggling the the tour girl was great and at the end you get a prize
Enjoyed the experience. Should have hiked around the exhibit, but didnt plan ahead. Maybe next time.
Good spot to go check out with some friends and enjoy a fun tour.
There is definitely something mystery about this spot !!Love the weirdness of this location. Had such a blast going on the tour. one of the strangely unique anomalys that takes place there. It was cold the day we visited but that didnt stop the tour. Our tour guides awesome personality made the experience even more fun.A must visit place with friends and family
Small hike up hill. No dirt just pavement. Honestly, Rachel was the best. She needs a raise. Aliens probably did go there in pink shoes... Came here with my dogs for the separate hike thats next to this place. Left them tired out in the car with the windows rolled down. We all enjoyed our time here.
Great for kids and adults! Follow COVID guidelines which is nice to make everyone feel comfortable!
Our guide, Gwen, was amazing. Really solid overall experience.
Amazing place where all family can enjoy and experience something different and mysterious. Parking fees is 5 bucks. Ticket price per person is 8 bucks. Price will reduce if child is under the age of 8 years. Only cash is acceptable for buying tickets. Have to visit mystery spot with a group of 20 to 25 people which is led by a tour guide. Duration of a tour is around 45 mins and conducts after every 15 to 20 mins. Canteen, gift shop and restrooms are also there.
It is strange but true the miracle of gravity effect at that particular spot. We have to experience ourselves. This place is covered with lofty trees. Nice place to visit nearer to San Francisco.
So so disappointed....Just a leaning house, not even much time inside to enjoy the experience, take pictures. And I have the same leaning house behind my house lol so absolutely not worth the 8 dollars... Nothing really mysterious.Hopefully we had an amazing guide, Chris that just had some good joke, and that was the most entertaining part of it. But even 45 minutes to just see a leaning house, so disappointing...
Awesome experience, lovely tour guides and super affordable!!!
Very weird gravity force surrounded this area. It was really a special experience! Loved the energy from the ranger. You’d better make reservation online in case no spot available on site. There was an additional $5 charge for parking.
Good times! So much fun with the family and everyone working there was awesome!
Have always been fascinated by the famous mystery spot bumper stickers. Got a chance to visit it today. It definitely lived up to the hype and did have an mysterious air about the anomalies in the cabin. The best part about the place is their tour guides. They are a bunch of earnest, friendly and happy kids who make the experience so much fun. Our tour guide was Zack and he kept the tour so lively, funny and engaged. They charge $8 for adults and kids over 4 years. $5 for parking. Would recommend this place for a fun weekend outing. The place can get busy during long weekends and holidays. It is a good idea to book the tours online beforehand (especially for bigger groups) to avoid a possible waiting time. Bumper stickers come with the admission fee. There is a gift shop which also sells snacks and coffee. There is a restaurant in the premises but it was closed on the day we went.
When people from out of the area show up, it is an interesting place to take them for a natural optical illusion location. I would not recommended the place for people using a wheelchair. It is a steep short walk on uneven ground to get to the mystery spot but well worth it, wear sturdy shoes!
The Mystery Spot is a very fun place to visit! I loved my trip there with my family. I would go there again! You can see banana slugs at the end to :)
Connor was great as a tour guide. Cute little attraction that’s worth a stop!
Very interesting and the tour guide was very funny and informative.
Nice place to visit. Optical illusion might be the reason. The guide is good person. Keep you entertained.
Loved it! Entertaining, funny, fun, and friendly. It was a blast! You gotta try it!
Super cool to visit! The only reason I gave 4/5 is because I wasnt warned about the possibility of motion sickness when touring. If you have severe motion sickness then this is not recommended.
We had so much fun here. Corny humor we all laughed at. The kids had fun playing inside. So interesting.
Really cool place. You can feel the magnetic pull as soon as you walk into the cabin. Some people on our tour became dizzy and a but sick. I myself felt dizzy walking out of the cabin. Definitely worth the 8 dollars per person to get in.
Fun, perfect scenery, relaxing area. Not for the person who easily dizzy and/or nauseous.
We had a great guide! Aileen
Our guide is a cool and funny one. Whatever he says, wait till the sentences ends so that you know it’s a serious one or just a joke #lol That makes it a fun science tour!Even though we got a bit more time in the cabin, there’s still not enough time or not a timing window where I could have a photo of me without other people around. Smaller group or some kind of queue would be great. The guide explained the whole entire theories with the conclusion, ‘No one knows what exactly causes this‘. That’s why it remains a mystery and maybe that’s why it still attracts visitors all year round to come to find out and experience it.WAY BEYOND PAD THAI
Great spot for all ages! We took our 6 and 8 year old and they had a blast! Packed a lunch and enjoyed it in the parking lot after the tour. Hiking is available right next to The Mystery Spot and allows dogs on the trail. Trail in beg level, easy family trail, took about 30-45m as we were walking pretty slow and stopping to take pictures. The location of The Mystery Spot is breathtaking and you’ll be sure to enjoy the drive there!
My kids enjoyed it . Prices very reasonable. $8.00 per person. Children under 2 and active military are free.
Its an illusion where the tour guides allude to magnetic fields and gravitational field distortion and this results in tourists believing in that horsecrap. The biggest tourist trap on the west coast. Please spend your tourism dollars elsewhere! Even a strip club offers a better price to entertainment than this spot and strip clubs are designed to leech your money.I do not recommend this place and will not return to visit it
Cool little spot. Staff is super friendly and entertaining. Very clean bathrooms, so clean that I had to mention it. Also the garden area in the front is cute.
Wow.. Really awesome.. very nice place.. my first time visit.. it was good.. Once you are inside the wierd mystery spot, you will feel a little dizzy :) make sure you wear good shoes.. I wore a flip flop and i slipped and fell off, hitting my knees on the wooden bar.. it was painful.. make sure you were good shoes.. optical illusion was amazing.. our kids loved it.. Had fun...
Theres definitely something mysterious about this Spot. Its a fun day trip with the family. Dont miss the turn off because its literally down a dirt road thats pretty narrow. They have a little store to buy snacks and souvenir stuff too.
Fun place to go! Good laughs and great tour guides. Must stop place on your trip for the family that its experience and everyone will enjoy!
Unique place. Fun to visit.
Very interesting! Excellent staff and service
What a beautiful location. The trees are gorgeous. The Mystery Spot tour is enjoyable and fun to take pics at. Super cute short trip. Dont drive your lowered vehicle, the roads are awful.
Nice $8 attraction in the woods of Santa Cruz! Cool trail too!
This place is really cool to go and see and the guide we has was very good and funny I would go back to see it again
Not really a bad but not very good experience either. Its simply in the middle. We had a very funny tour guide and she made the tour fun.
Maurice was an awesome tour guide! Its not a long tour but fun and informational.
Very cool spot to experience a weird phenomenon. Lovely deep wooded area and friendly guides. Affordable family fun. Youll feel off killer for hours!
We had a blast. My kids loved this little anomaly amidst the redwood trees!
My kids had a great time... The guide was pretty funny... Just wish there was more to it, but its a fun side jaunt heading to or from Santa Cruz
Amazing! Ethan was a great guide. Highly recommend for all ages! I hope to come back soon!!
Worth the 8$It was really fun 10/10 would recommend Tastefully funny jokes and a wacky experience.Plus our tour guide Stella had pretty eyes
This was amuch needed stop for our family on vacation. The kids loved the little cabin with the slanted floors. We still are perplexed at the phenomenon we experienced here.
Super family fun trip right outside of town that wont break the bank. The adults and kids had a blast and the tour guide was hilarious. We also had a delicious lunch for about $35 for 5 people while we waited for our tour. The kids are still trying to figure out the mystery. I would recommend reservations to avoid the line on weekends. Although I gave 4 stars because our reservations were misplaced and we had to wait an hour, it was worth the wait.
