The view is fantastic. We were traveling early and got great pics of the marine layer reaching inland into the mountains. The trail from the parking lot is lined with trees and lots of wildlife. The trail has a medium to steep incline as you head up and around the hill to the lookout point. Worth the stop.

Great scenic spot. We went in late November and the mountains turn purplish at Sunset. It is just beautiful to look at. There are no restrooms here.

Nice stop with some pretty landscape views that look better in person than in photos. Sadly lacks bathrooms but the scenery is lovely and it is only a very short walk to the vista point where some greenery has grown tall enough to block some of the views.

If you can appreciate the the high plains desert, its great! Driving towards the coast you see Lake Cachuma it looks like a good place to beat the heat! An abundance of vultures flying in the skies, nice day.

Beautiful scenery, unfortunately there are only two lookout points and the signage could be better as to change lanes and turn in. Definitely a beautiful alternate route to Santa Barbara off the 101....

I had one day in Los Angeles and decided to drive to this point. I arrived late and decided to stay overnight at this parking lot.It was the right decisions. I was the only car there at night. With the sunset in early morning some more people came. During this time I already enjoyed the great view over the mountains.

So this vista point is good for a quick stop as your driving over the pass. Great views all around and if you walk up a tiny trail you get even better views. Could do with some facilities as its sort of in the middle of nowhere but for what it is (a vista point) you cant really complain.

We arrived just before sunset; the Golden Hour. The view was beyond fantastic & it felt like I was in a pastoral painting or ripped from the pages of a novel about early 20th century California. You cant put a rating on natures beauty.

I was at the tail end of a six hour drive from Sacramento and had an opportunity to catch a full moon rising along a winding stretch of mountainous road. I delayed my journey when I saw the vista point. The five stars is for the glow of the moon which was much more luminous than my photos captured.

Great place to stop and get that first look over the Valley or that last peak of sunset before leaving the Valley. There is a path that you can hike out to, to get a better view of sunset for capturing amazing photos. There are a few picnic tables for a quick meal together. There are not any bathrooms at this Vista point stop. The secondary Vista stop, closer to the Valley has a bathroom, for potty emergencies... I sometimes will stop here, on my way home from work, just to catch my breath and gather my thoughts before heading home. Love this stop and the views
