A very nice movie house and great for date nights! Ive been there several times and havent had any terrible issues. The food was great, the staff was very pleasant, and the service was great! The prices are fair, so if you are want to watch a movie while you eat a meal, then check this place out. We will be back!

I really like the comfy seats and the wider rows - people can actually get by without climbing over your lap or stepping on you!

Best movie house in Santa Barbara. Good programming, with lots of independent and foreign films. Historic location, recently renovated. Reasonably comfortable seating, good acoustics. Sparsely attended. I dont know whats wrong with people. Id much rather see a film on the big screen than do Netflix at home.

Hidden away in the hills of Santa Barbara, the Riviera theater is an amazing treasure. Recently renovated with comfortable seats, climate control, digital presentation, and a great sound system this is one of the best places to see a film ever!

Good theater experience, we saw Linda Ronstadts The Voice - Fantastic Movie must see! Nice soft chairs good for the back; parking needs better instruction. There is a lower parking lot and an upper. I guess I will know better next time - Disabled, I got stuck in the lower parking lot and had to walk with a cane to where there was handicapped parking in the upper lot.

Ive NEVER had a Movie Pass card declined ever before anywhere except here. The clerk swiped it & almost immediately said declined and said, Try signing in again as if she knew how it works (you cannot do it twice)..nonetheless I walked away, checked my phone for any signs of errors, & then went back, & the same clerk took my card & almost immediately handed it back ...it was so fast I had a difficult time believing she actually swiped it. And she said declined. So I paid out of pocket. she looked surprised that I had a credit card as if I was so poor. the ONLY time this ever happened. PLUS, it also worked successfully HERE the day before (different clerk). Maybe Santa Barbara localism ?

Sunday, January 6th 2013 at The Riviera, and were watching the 7 pm showing of Les Mis. Just as the scene at the barricades reached its climax, the sound went out, and, after some minutes, it appeared that there was nobody in the projection booth. An audience member had to go find somebody. Eventually the sound came on, but by then the scene was pretty much over. No explanation was given as we left, and no apology was offered. It somewhat spoiled our enjoyment of the movie. Do better, guys!
