I have always dreamed of working in the vfx industry and that dream started with the Star Wars movies!!! If youre in the area, please dont miss out El Presidio and this lovely spot next to LucasFilm and Industrial Light and Magic.Even if you have no passion for Star Wars, this park is worth visiting. Lots of green areas, places to sit and have coffee and an amazing view of the Golden Gate Bridge. It is also super close to the Palace of Fine Arts so its a visit you can add with those plans too (if youre thinking of visiting the Palace)
Really cute and fun to check out if you are a Star Wars fan! Free 30 minute parking.
Great place and spectacular views. I was told to not eat here and I assume it is to reduce the trash around the visiting location. Id bet that there is more too see up top but I wasnt sure. Id love to go and check out the views though. Maybe there will be more to see or maybe it wasnt worth it. I check this place out again in the future.
This city gives me more reasons to love it every day! I dont even like Star Wars, but I had to visit to celebrate the funky spirit of San Francisco! The shady, tree lined location as well and the sound of water running give this location a peaceful and tranquil aura that fits the spirit of its namesake.
Its exactly as advertised. Yoda... On a fountain. What I didnt know though was there is a lobby behind him with much more to see. Star Wars props, books, artwork, and more. Plus theres a delightful little park area that you can walk with statues of important contributors to the film industry and special effects.
Pretty cool. The whole place is for designing George Lucas and Disney movies. You see eg everywhere Star wars Figures. Unfortunately we couldnt go in due to covid.
The fountain was being worked on. It was still pretty cool.
Fun photo spot. Inside closed due to Covid.
Great fountain! Contained both Yoda and falling water.
Awesome place. Star wars fans see many great items and can view some Lucas awards as well. Worth the time if you are in the area.
Not too difficult to find if you use Google maps as the location is correct. I only mention this as there seem to be folk posting reviews on gmaps who are getting lost. The highlight is the building behind the fountain. There’s no signs, it’s not advertised, and you’ll feel like you’re intruding if you walk in, but it’s the main lobby for Lucasfilm. Lots of Star Wars models and memorabilia. A lot are behind glass cases which make taking photos difficult because of reflections, but it’s still cool to see. There’s a sad looking BB-8 on a shelf too. When I was there in August 2018, there was a large advert for Solo in another room, which is about as much advertising as Disney bothered with for the movie it seems.. I wouldn’t go looking for ILM while you’re there btw - it’s just a building. The grounds are nice too.
Didnt know about this, and my friends took me there and suprised me with this.
Totally worth it to visit Lucasfilm for anyone whos a fan of Star Wars
Solid fountain wisdom it does provide
The Force is strong here
I was able to go and look around in the lobby. It’s an amazing experience for big fans like me!!
Its a fountain with a Yoda on it. The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful. A place for Stag wars fan
Such a fun destination! So cool to see Yoda statues and various pieces of Star Wars memorabilia including the original Darth Vader outfit. If youre a Star Wars fan, definitely check this place out
A unique stop in San Francisco, not a lot of visitors when we stopped by. Has free parking just tell the guard you are there to see Yoda!!
Meticulous grounds around fountain and surrounding campus. Highly recommend a walk around lake at bottom of hill.
Have to go if youre a fan. More to see but reflections off display cases too much for pics
Neat to see in person. Location is where Lucasfilm is located. That was nice to find out, didnt know this when I headed over. Starbucks around the corner where you can hang out and rest for a moment. :)
Pretty cool... to bad the store is closed right now...
Definitely a must visit for every Star Wars fan.
Unlock the Yoda statue accomplishment to enhance your Padawan training. Dont miss Darth Vader and R2-D2 on display inside the doors.
So much fun. Easy to miss. Ask the guard, they were very nice
Well, its quite a basic fountain with a sculpted Yoda standing on top of it. If youre a Star Wars fan and strolling nearby, you might want to visit it.
Being completely honest here; I had no idea that the Lucasfilm studios were located in San Francisco. Some friends and I were visiting the city for a weekend and were trying to get to the Golden Gate. On our way there I saw a dot in Google maps labeled Yoda Statue. We immediately stopped and went out of our way to get to it. We found out that the Lucasfilm grounds are opened to the public. It felt like a university campus. We finally found the statue and took pictures. We could see that inside their lobby they had other Star Wars figures. Definitely going back to take a tour of the inside.
Amazing place to visit.
Very cool. Walk past it.... Lucasfilm reception with more cool stuff!!
The force is strong in this place, if you are a fan of Starwars and you are in San Francisco, is a must place to go
A very cool statue sat atop a fountain. Quite perfect for little Yoda since he was a fountain of wisdom from my childhood. I take all of my friends here who visit from out of town. A San Franciscan must see.
Not worth driving here just to see this small statue, but if you are walking or bicycling through the park anyway, it is a fun visit. Starbucks is next door if you want a snack or bathroom break.
I stopped by on a Sunday and all the offices were closed and the security guard let us park in the lot out front.
It is what it claims to be - a Yoda fountain. Nothing more and nothing less. Fountain with Yodas statue. Its set on the site of Lucas studios, but accessible to public. The studio site has some good views on the Palace of Fine Arts.
I could not miss out to this one once I found out such a news that Yoda was in San Francisco. Its just opposite the palace of fine arts and easy to get to. Behind it theres s room with more stuff like r2d2 and dart Vader plus some marvel stuff and a Lucas arts poster as well as a robot from the movie solo. Really cool stuff
Very funny baby yoda grew up!!! Can’t believe this is really happening !!! I totallly vibe with baby yoda he is very funny and wholesome 100 Keanu Reeves!!! Love the gamer juice and the free money in the fountain. Have made like a solid $3.64 so far. Grinding to buy a baby yoda plush
Cool place that is worth checking out for all the star wars fans out there
Great environment dog friendly family friendly, hidden treasure!!
Its _the_ Yoda fountain! Always great to see.
Its Yoda as a fountain. Even just the lobby of the nearby Lucasfilm is worth a visit.
Make a wish, throw a coin, go home with The Force!
Whats not to like about Yoda?
We were there from an invite from our nephew he showed us around the whole campus. It was great.
The force is definitely felt here. Awesome spot to snap photos or sit in the adjacent park. Highly recommend.
Will bump to 5 stars when they replace him with Baby Yoda
Im not much of a Star Wars fan not this atrium is pretty awesome! Who doesnt love the great Yoda?!
Mmhhhmmmm. Much good this place is. Strong the force is. Fountain do spout water of wisdom mMmMmhhmmM. Go make soup I must now.
Who doesnt love Yoda. Cool little foyer to check out too. Cant beat the atmosphere in the park for just wandering around.
Its Yoda, but with a fountain. There are some interesting things to be seen inside as well. Its a bit of a bummer that you cant buy anything here, and that there arent more things outside. That said, if youve been dreaming about having your picture taken next to a slightly moist statue of a Jedi, you cant beat it.
Loved it. I am a big fan!
Lovely little fountain, was there on a sunday so the lobby was closed, but saw R2D2 and the gang though the Windows. Nice little stop om your way to goldengate
Beautiful fountain, nice stop for any Star Wars fan.. Plus the Lucasfilm lobby!
Soo cool!
Theres nothing much to see but if youre a Star Wars fan, this is a must to visit... the office lobby has other items abd is open during business hours Mon-Fri...
Superb it was.
This is really a must see place to visit. It’s very clean and very serene! My only gripe would be that we couldn’t go inside to view the Star Wars memorabilia! Who only offers admittance to a place like this on weekdays? What the hell, people?!!! Do you not know anything about tourism?Sheesh!!!
Visit this fountain you must. Fantastic place it is. - Yoda
Get your Jedi on in this serene place! Great pit stop walking along the shore
A mecca for Star Wars fans!
Very Clean. Friendly Staff. Delicious Ice cream!
Found it easily on Google Maps and got pictures. A good stop for Star Wars fans. Other characters are inside in the lobby.
Just for fans. But, its hard to get inside. No stores here
Best Yoda fountain ever. Take a picture of yourself doing yoga with Yoda.
If you are a fan of Star Wars story, you must go there, take a pictures, visit the George Lucas office and you can enjoy also this opportunity to Know other famous places as the palace of fine arts, Golden Gate Bridge (you must cross it by walking)..So create a itinerary to do all this things in the same day. It’s possible.
Bonus stop on our movie tour of San Francisco. Some days you are allowed to go into reception, where if you are quiet and behaved see some of the other items on show
1st triP to San Francisco in ages. Exciting to know GEorge Lucas bought the Presidio
Great Yoda
Fear is the path to the Dark Side. Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering. -Yoda
Pay your respect to the wise one before you head in to the lobby!
Lucas Films is very nice and close to Palace of the Arts. Walk ways and gardens are very beautiful
Coolnplace to visit and enjoy starwars icons. Starbucks nearby to sit and enjoy
Nice
Unexpectedly serene little corner, considering its at the entrance to lucasfilms office. Theres something about the statues eyes that make them very life like.
Free 20 minute parking. Lobby and fountain are awesome.
Small by stature it is
Nice place. Next to the palace of fine arts.
May the force be with you always !!
Stumbled upon it I am. Nice it is.
Came here for Starbucks and ended up talking to a very nice man in the security post as he works there. As we entered he guided us as to where to go,then he says, before you leave go and look inside those windows. So we did and it was star wars memoribilia. It was awesome, the area was nice too and ometo find out it was the presidio. Awesome experience, very calm and soothing environment.
Steal water from the general populace of the continental united states, I must. Use it to fuel my rise to power, I will
Very cool! Kinda hard to find, but worth the journey!
