The beauty of this building will never be duplicated, ever again. No current architect has the love of beauty that existed when the Flood was thought up. Its from when architecture was art. As I was walking through the lobby, on my way out, a man, in about his mid 30s, was GUSHING to the security guards about how beautiful the building was. He was floored by the detail. It just clobbers you as soon as youre feet take you a few steps. The WOW Factor. Youll never hear that from anyone coming out of one of the glass monoliths thats being forced on our eyes now. I call it The Emperors New Clothes style of architecture. I look at em and hope for a good earthquake to knock all of them down. Yup.

This thriving business center is a place of interest to travelers and locals alike. It is architecturally stunning, historically relevant, centrally located, easily accessible, and admission is free and secure. Be sure to visit the informative micro-museum in the lobby; it houses a dynamic collection of photographs and artifacts spanning its 100+ years. Its located on Market Street across from Westfield Shopping Center and adjacent to the many galleries, shops, and eateries of Powell Street and Union Square. Wheelchair accessible.

This building is one of the standing buildings that survived the 1906 earthquake. If you get a chance to see the interior marble, its amazing to see it on this day in age where new buildings dont have this material anymore. The carvings on the columns make you feel youre back in a grandiose era. Currently, there are 4 windows showing the history of the Flood Building. Its worth reading it.

This was most definitely a new experience for me. Never before have I been to the Flood Building. Its quite impressive.Really the most impressive part of it was the friendliness of the doorman. Though appearing quite old, he wasnt one of those snooty condescending types you often see in a large upscale office building. Everyone else that I had the luck of running into was nice and friendly too.Another great aspect of the building is the abundance of elevators. There must be like 10 in a row and they function pretty fast.As far as Ive seen, it is very quiet and peaceful inside. I wouldnt mind having an office here some day.

In my Opinion this is one of the most beautiful buildings in downtown San Francisco if not the most, at least architecture wise. The beautiful gentle curves of the hallways made of wonderfully polished marble and deep rich wood with the antique doors still in place with transoms and mail slots still intact. You feel as if for a moment you feel as if you have been whisked back in time a hundred years. You half expect there to be men in suits having some clandestine meetings that can change the future as we know it (maybe just wishful thinking) It is a historic landmark and if nothing else step into the lobby and check out their display case of the history of the building and in turn part of San Francisco history definitely something to enjoy.

Historic old building in the heart of San Francisco. Its across the street from the Westfield galleria mall. Gray color outside, lined with stones.Entry way is quite large and the Flood Concern building logo is pretty visible.Theres a concierge if you need any help with navigation. There are about 4 elevators to the building and 10 floors I believe. Each floor is full of businesses, generally of medical practice but I believe I saw some with law etc.
