The Golden Gate Bridge was my favorite part about San Francisco. It’s just so epic! Right at the opening to the Pacific Ocean, the water and weather there are intense- It’s very windy. There is limited free parking near the bridge. Do your research to find the best spots. I went in the afternoon- going outside of peak hours will make the parking and overall experience better.
This is a unique vantage point to view Golden Gate. You can frame the bridge with couple of cypress trees. Very popular place with photographers, hikers and tourists as well. There is a decent size parking lot. However place does gets busy, since it is popular. So finding parking can be hard some times. A must visit place.
An ideal spot to just sit and admire the Golden Gate Bridge. Nearby, there are stairs that take you down to Marshalls Beach. Baker Beach (also in the Presidio) is admittedly a somewhat prettier beach (worth checking out sometime). But the fun here is in taking that path down the steep hill to Marshalls beach, and enjoying the views of the Pacific along the way, especially at sunset. Then, when you get down there, its amazing looking up at the bridge in all its glory from that angle.Just a few yards down Lincoln Blvd is Pacific Overlook, another great perch for viewing the ocean from above, also a great spot from which to view the bridge (see picture).
Only problem is limited parking. Sometimes its too foggy to see the bridge. Still gets 5 stars for me
If you are into photography then you must visit this place to capture some of the breathtaking views of the Golden Gate Bridge.
Beware of break ins! It didn’t happen to me, fortunately but they have signs posted. There are a few places to see the bridge, this one has a very picturesque location shot by many IG photographers. But you should check out the other view points. If you are bring a camera, I recommend using a long focal length to compression the bridge in the background.
This place is an exquisitely beautiful place to park to hike around the Presidio. Easy access to Bakers and Marshalls Beach, walk down to the golden gate bridge, explore the abandoned ruins of the military base where you can see some really cool graffiti. It is federal land though so no sleeping overnight in your car unfortunately. Come well rested if youve been traveling.
Quintessential. Iconic. This is the spot to make your social media followers envious of your wordly travels.
Not many people realize but the best way to capture the enormous Golden Gate Bridge is from a distance. Golden Gate Overlook makes the job easy breezy!Locals can be seen running/biking/strolling here.We were lucky enough to click a handful of pictures from this site for the moment we arrive at the Golden Gate Bridge, it was out n out Foggy! It was pretty underwhelming at first, for dense fog kept playing all the while.Parking- We parked our car at a nearby parking spot called ’Langdon Court’—absolutely free of cost. Its about 10-12 minutes walk from the parking spot to the bridge.#Day1 #SFO
This is a great place to come and observe the Golden Gate bridge. Its cool to watch the traffic from this vantage point. If youre a photographer itd be great to get a time lapse here along with all other kinds of icon photos. It was pretty crowed when I came here, so if you want photos without a lot of people in them youd want to come at off hours. Either really late or very early in the morning.
An awesome place to see the bridge with free parking (park in the Overlook Lot) but be careful, vehicle break-ins are super common. We saw a ton of shattered glass on the ground and even saw a vehicle who had just had their window smashed in broad daylight right before we got there.
Beautiful view with cool breeze. Dog friendly. Easy to park near by at Car Park Lot D.
The spot I saw the Bridge for the very first time in my live and it still stays one of my favorite spots in SF ️And yeah, it’s veeeery windy there! Keep it in mind :)
An amazing view ! This is one for the bucket list for sure! A great painting as well!
Truly beautiful to watch the fog loft. Harbour to the right, ocean to the left. Very lovely
Been photographing San Francisco each time I visit. However, until this past visit, last week, I couldnt figure out how to get a straight down the bridge photograph, from the San Francisco side. Before I flew out this time, using Googlemaps, I spotted the Golden Gate Overlook, near Battery Godfrey and some walking trails down to the beach.Almost missed the blue hour of sunlight, but I did catch the tail end of it. These photos are what I got. There is a parking lot next to the overlook. However, be warned, when I arrived a couple were standing next to their car, because someone has broken into it, because of something they left on their seat that appeared to be of value to a thief.DO NOT LEAVE anything visible in your car, when parking here, especially in the evening. Another reviewer indicated they tagged his car within 5 minutes of parking. Id suggest you not put anything into the trunk when you arrive, either. That said, it is a great spot for photographing the bridge straight down the middle.
Only be safe with your stuff, go there to see the sunset
Viewfinder.app - Amazing views of the Golden Gate Bridge. The fort is fun to explore and there is almost always plenty of parking available.
Amazing veiws every where you see..
A must visit for anyone. We got one of the best views of the GGB from this view point. Parking can be difficult on weekends and impossible on holidays which is a normal thing for SF. Theres plenty to do here - Biking, hiking, relaxing on the beach (Baker Beach nearby) or walking on the bridge. Check out my pictures that were taken from the parking lot at this viewpoint. Cheers.
Beautiful Golden Gate views and good place for walk
Great spot for memorable pictures. However, it’s WINDY !! Be ready for the cold wind.
Stunning views of the Golden Gate Bridge! Lots of cool demos and information are also available. There are many trails around the area as well. Great location for pictures and hanging out!
I do have to say that this is architecture at its best. It was so gigantic and it made me feel small. Loved it
Awsome view of the coast and the grrat Golden Gate. Its a must to see
Great spot to photograph the Golden Gate bridge along its roadway.
We had a great time here. Just remember to take a jacket with you as there is always a strong cold wind blowing.
Was very surprised to find an old military base and tons of old bunkers at the overlook! Very cool
The overlook looks very run down if you go on top of the little abandoned looking building, but the view of the Golden Gate Bridge is worth it. So beautiful!
Walk for a bit around the fort to a couple of trees, and youll get excellent framing for the bridge!
This place was gorgeous
Such an amazing place to visit..So impressed..
One of the best spots with adore majestic Golden Gate bridge!! Follow google map route for easy access. Has parking spaces.
Very humbling experience. Was also able to get some cool shots with my drone.
West Coast is the best coast
A surprise find with great head-on views of the Golden Gate Bridge, the fascinating ruins of various military batteries, and nice views of the Pacific Ocean. Convenient parking if not full.
Absolutely awesome area to explore, go for a run, walk your dog, take in the sights and appreciate the historical monuments. Beautiful area and will definitely be coming back more often!

Perfect overlook park with an amazing view of the bridge. When I came in the late afternoon there was only one other person here. It is so peaceful and you also have a good view of the mountains to the west of the bridge. It is a good place to rest, relax, or take pictures

Beautiful views of a spectacular bridge and Bay entrance.
Not the best spot for Golden Gate Bridge !!The view from the opposite side is much better !!
Surprisingly great! From here you have a nice view of how busy the Golden Gate Bridge is. The overlook self is not busy and can be easily accessed by bike.
I loved this place, because it is a historic bridge.
Best place to look at Golden Gate Bridge. Hike down the trail to welcome center and you will get beautiful look at the bridge in different angles.Note: There is no restroom here.

Most beautiful on clear day
You get good days and foggy days. But the view is spectacular
Found this by accident after leaving the main viewing area. Cruise up the hill a minute and take a photo here...Amazing view plus the remaining structures from the previous viewing area neat to see!!
Go in afternoon when the sun hits the western side of the Bridge
This is not a good spot for photos. The view of Golden Gate bridge is more beautiful from other spots.
Lots of shops and great views of Alcatraz and the Golden Gate Bridge! Great spot for taking pictures. I recommend coming here if youd like to have a wonderful time.
Cool place. All tourist and bikers. Wind can be strong, so layers are advised.
Amazing, dont forget to sit down on the sand at baker beach and just take in your surroundings. Its an incredible feeling. It is walking distance too!
