I was in tourist mode. The fact that the weather is so consistent here, sometimes cooler in summer than on winter days, is down to the ocean. Great to be right there next to the water, with the view of Alcatraz, street vendors, stores and restaurants packed with covid--wait, I mean packed with people--was great to see.
They are repairing streets..So Driving n Parking Is a Mess..I like to drive down Fishermans Wharf with my 96yo mom, but its just going from one detour to another which adds to her dementia frustration..Most People in Mask, but Not able to do 6ft distancing.. The Weather n Views are Beautiful tho.. Love My City By The Bay
If you ever visit the Bay area beautiful place to hang with the family I want to date or just to clear your mind lots of grate food Applebees down there Joes Crab shack and bunch of more great restaurants and local hometown favorites to get that you know San Francisco famous Clam chowder youre a daily chocolate and moreThis is Dre day of the bay and I approve this message 707 rep707
I had the best Irish Coffee after burritos and tortillas there. A great place to explore and meet with friends.
A little lonely due to covid but other than that theres a few businesses open but I enjoyed my visit
Had the best Turkey note at I bought a crab sourdough bread the bomb cant wait for the spinach dip
You get down the street to realize all exits have been blocked off. Make a upturn and spend over an hour to get out. Need better signage. Place is absolutely packed with most people not social distancing or wearing mask.
Great fresh seafood here! Everywhere! Some good docks the red and white fleet is great! Nice shopping aswell
Due to COVID not many stores are open & heavy construction down the wharf/ city. Do understand the need to close a majority of stores, businesses & one way walkways- just a quick visit.
I grew up in this city and enjoyed the Wharf a bit, especially Sunday afternoons when dance crews locked and stepped at Pier 39, but it has changed a lot. When I was little, Michael Jackson had presented his glove at the Guiness Book of World Records museum, and the present-day Rainforest Cafe was an arcade and candy shop. Also, the Wax Museums Chamber of Horrors occupied an entire floor and not a section. Theres nothing much to do after 8pm on Sundays now, and the seals always come back to their grounds.
Fishermans wharf is always a good time. I lived in the city 10 years ago and often went to hang out with my friends, always good memories! Theres a lot of shut down places, but the memories make me love it everytime Im there.
I love this place it has really good food and some cool things to look at and good silvaniers
A great place to run, walk or shopping with family and friends. So many things to do, you might spend your whole day here. A lot of construction in the area when we visited, and less people considering it was a weekend. A lot of the stores are closed too, so check before you go.
I went to Charlotte monument on Kerney street .You know the dancer from the gold rush days .I discovered the Underground. A gift shop.We talked about Gerry Garcia of Grateful Dead. The guy sold me a cool sweat shirt .
I live in North Beach. I have been going to the Wharf almost on a weekly basis ever since the the start of the pandemic. It is a nice walk along the piers and the waterfront at Aquatic Park.During the months of April and May, it was eerily deserted. Of course, most of the businesses werent open due to coronavirus restrictions.I started to notice an increase in visitors in mid- June as outside dining became available. On todays visit, I noticed even further expansion of outside dining areas at many of the Wharf restaurants. The crab stands were even open and doing great business.Although it will be a long time till the Wharf is as bustling as it used to be, I saw twice as many people in the area today as a few weeks ago.
You can never go wrong with walking the piers! If you dont mind alot of foot traffic blaring music fresh seafood/bread (boudins) then definitely not your cup of tea!
Its under construction right now but its very busy and has great fresh seafood.
Always a fun time with great food and drink opportunity. Way more parking and many restaurants have outside opportunities. This trip we went to buena vista - crab meat and Irish coffee
The best place to be for clam chowder, lobster bisque, fresh crabs, fresh seafood, and freshly made sourdough bread from Boudin. Bring your appetite and bib, cause theres a lot of food to eat.On a side note, prices have gone up a bit since the last year. And update for COVID-19... A lot of the street vendors where you buy your food do not wear masks or gloves when serving your food, but we havent had any issues so far after eating there.
Its a nice place to visit or hangout for the day. Alot of restaurants and clothes stores, Lids, juice places, hot sauce place ect..... everything is right next to the ocean and big boats you can ride around the docks of the bay for a fee. Restrooms open. Like I said very nice place. But I do have to say theres lot of people who visit everday. But check it out for your self.
Fishermans wharf is a popular tourist spot is San Francisco. There are lot of things you can do here. There are several restaurants, gift shops, Wax Museum etc are here. It is a great place to take a stroll both during the day time and evening. You can see several street performers entertaining the crowd. You can enjoy famous Clam Chowder Soup is some of the restaurants. There is also ferry terminal here, you can take Alcatraz tour from here or commute to other parts of bay area through ferry. A Must visit place.
Hadnt been there in many, many years. And despite all that is going on in the world, people working in the businesses I visited were friendly, courteous, and doing whats necessary to be there and available for us travelers. Very welcoming!Thank you all!!
Love watching the seals play great place to take a picture . Also a great place to bring your family especially kids they enjoy it alot. The walk around the piers is also magnificent
Beautiful place with views of the golden gate and not to windy .. We skunked but we hear it is a good fishing spot too
My sister was visiting and took her to Fishermans wharf. Its easy to find parking space because of Covid-19. Lots of parking spaces and less people. Before the pandemic this place is packed and very crowded and ut was even hard to look for any parking space. We enjoyed walking around as this place hardly have any people. Some restaurants are closed but we were able to eat at Boudin Sourdough outdoor. Outdoor dining is spacious 6 ft or more apart. Ordering service is also outdoor. The food is way more expensive because its a tourist destination. It was a very nice day to enjoy Fishermans Wharf!
Hadnt been here Im a few years and while there are street closures that make parking difficult. But, on a hot and clear day enjoying food outdoors was a wonderful treat.
Had the clam chowder sourdough bowl at Boudin and it was very very good. Purchased two crabs from the Crab Station...cant wait to dig into those tomorrow!!
This is a fun spot to come and visit. However, prepare for it to be crowded and expensive. Make sure to head over to where the fishing boats dock and hang out for awhile so you can see the fishermen come in and process the fish. Theres little shade, so be sure to bring water and go on a cooler day.
With all the hype, I was not overly impressed.
Very interesting place to visit the calm chowder was great in the sourdough bowl
Had a Great Time with my Family, we spent the whole day.
Great place great shops and restaurants. Cool place 2 visit can see Alcatraz and the golden gate bridge and seals
Nice tourist attractions, it has different vendors and restaurants, gift stores etc
Not to many people. Sad Nicks restaurant didnt have crab chowder. But the Clam Chowder was delicious.
Love the street performers!Food vendors and shops! Wish it had been warmer the day we went.Must recommend the arcade if youre going here!
Apsolutely Love Fishermans Wharf! A bit on the expensive side but a lot of fun. Stores dont really start opening till noon except for a few.
Excellent for any visitor. I enjoyed all of the street performances while deciding on dinner. If youre a bit chilly, there are plenty of locations for a warm drink
Still a great place to bring the family and friends to hang out and explore
Fun place for friend and family to spend time with each other
Not crowded. Many shops closed due to corona
Really cool place to visit! Lots of interesting things to see! Lots of food options as well!
I love fishermans wharf .going sence I was a little girl
Food was yummy yummy, chatted with lots of great people from all over, A must visit in San Francisco
My daily walks before 10am around Fishermans Wharf is wonderful because only see folks exercising NO tourists around because stores are not opened.
Nothing better than fishermans wharf! Tons of shops, souvenir stores, coffee shops and restaurants to check out. A cultural wonderland with the salty smell of the sea!
My favorite place in San Francisco. Great atmosphere. Cute shops, great bay views. Wasnt as wonderful due to Covid and stuff being shut down, but still worth the stop.
Ran down. The food is way over priced. They dont put any clam chowder in the bread bowl. They use to tear out all the bread and place it around the bread bowl. Now they just cut out a little plug of bread to fit 4oz of chowder. Everything is fried basically. The crabs are damn near 30 dollars for a 5 dollar crab. The chowder was like mashed potatoes with little of clam very minimal. Rediculous. 9 dollars for a cup of soup!... wooow.
Went for some Clam Chowder just to kill the hunger, its amazing and the bread, delicious.
I grew up coming here but took a 15+ year break. Great place to come back too. Great food, good entertainment. The ferry’s are not pricey. Great family fun!
In all of the bay area, this is perhaps the best place. It has some great places to eat by the sea - esp if you come upon it at evenfall. Nearby, often, you can see seals. Plenty to do here. Nearby, you have a museum, navy ships and guided tours. If youre a tourist or have kids to show around, this is the place for you. Totally worth spending an entire weekend day here!
What a cool place to see the seals, catch a glimpse of Alcatraz and eat a delicious meal. A must do if you are in the area.So many shops and snacks everywhere. People are nice and friendly. Parking can be tough, but best to park in an attended lot as car break ins are at an all time high in the city.
So much fun. Good food. Great views. Ppl everywhere so much to do and see.
The food was good the history was good and the sub ride as the best
One of my favorite places to be! So much shopping and food. Dont forget the views of the Bay and the Golden Gate Bridge!! And the sea lions!!!
One of the places that you must visit when in San Francisco. There are a lot of dining, and retail outlets here. I am allergic to seafood so I skipped the lobsters here. One of the main attraction here are the sealions lounging around all day. Its wuite fun and therapeutic to see them wrestling for the best spot at the pier. This is also where the ferry going to the Alcatraz is located.
Love that place! The weather is so much cooler, you even need a jacket. The place is beautiful from the ocean to the skyscrapers in the city. Food is great too.
Love it, was my first time seeing the ocean, loved the views the food. The people
During Covid-19 it was very nice strolling the warf tourist free. Started around 10am.
Me n da wife had so much fun
I just love the smell of salt water, crumb snatching seagulls, and clumsy people
Fisherman’s Wharf in San Francisco is an awesome area to take in the harbor feel and history of such an amazing city.It also offers numerous stores that sell great gifts for friends and family as well as quality outerwear in case it happens to be a cool and or damp day and you need a little extra (happened to me!).The area also offers fantastic restaurants like the Franciscan Crab Restaurant (which I have also reviewed) and Cioppino’s, which has excellent Cioppino Soup.Pier 41 offers great views of the city and of Alcatraz. And you can see the sea lions from Pier 39 (both of which I have reviewed). There is definitely something for everyone of any age at the Wharf.
Awesome touristy area! Visited Oct 2019. Very fun! The sights, smells, sounds are so wonderful! The food is so delicious. We ate at Cafe 8 which was awesome. And Tarantinos where we had clam chowder and fish/chips with wonderful view of the old boats! Shopping a tourists dream. The sea lions were cool at Pier 39! Loved this adventure!
It was worth the boat tour! I had a lot of fun and enjoyed the excellent views. Group discount is the best price option.
Fisherman’s Wharf is a nice but super touristic part of San Francisco.Have a walk over the piers and enjoy the nice views to the bay, Golden Gate and Alcatraz.Expect lots of souvenir stores and lots of overpriced restaurants though. For better and cheaper food, walk away from here towards center.
Everyone will be here for sure and I really know. This place is so famous and I don’t think nobody disagree about it. Come and visit!! Enjoy your beautiful day!!
So, so touristy but still fun to visit
Love visiting this iconic area in SFO, hopefully all these retailers and vendors will survive the shutdown so that we can all once again enjoy the sights, sounds, tastes and vibes of Fishermans Wharf. Looking forward to a famous sourdough bowl of clam chowder once things return to a new normal again. Well worth a visit..
Youll want to spend the day here exploring. So much to see and do and lots of great food!
Walking on this place feel so comfortable I hope to go back pretty soon
A panoramic view with all comfort zone...A perfect tourist invite... Irresistible when you see colourful tourists from around the world flock around. Well organised and well cared by the institution.. Abundant food joints.. The shocking scenario is FOOD WASTAGE by Americans... A sorry state of affairs. When I asked a guy ..he said it is his money and he likes what he wanted to do.. I responded ...money is yours but resource belongs to the USA
If you are interested in games, activities, shopping and local food then you must visit Fishermans wharf along with Pier 39. You can also visit Ghirardelli for world famous Chocolates and ice creams.
Very nice place to walk an eat.If you come to San Francisco, Ca. Dont miss this place
We always enjoy our time on the Pier. Food, shopping, and people watching.
Because its outside its beautiful you look at all the boats and ships and stuff its very relaxing
Years since wed been there. Most of the touristry has moved to Pier 39. But the Grotto strip with fresh seafood remains in part. Boarding of tours, Shops, etc. found here.Totally different than 30 yrs ago! Lots of modern shopping & eateries in the area as well. Art galleries, marina, and atmosphere.
Great seafood place if you are in the area.
One of my favorite places to eat!! SO SAD so many places are closed-- permanently
Under construction some of the streets but very nice place to be
just Beautiful
I love this place! Food is always fresh and so yummy!!!
Great place to get crabs. Pretty clean.
Fishermans Wharf is a must see when visiting San Francisco. There is so much to see here, Pier 39, the sea lions, lots of shops and restaurants, beautiful views of the bay and Alcatraz Island. My only complaint is that except for Hardrock Cafe, every other restaurant and shop was closed by 9pm. Vacationing in December has its disadvantages, maybe the pier is open later during the summer months. At least we didnt have to fight the crowds.
There is always something to do there.Be prepare to walk around.
Was in guidance with all the covid 19 safety plan!! Hand sanitizer and sinks available
Covid regulations are strictly enforced . Lots of shops selling stuff for tourists and the main attraction, sea-lions all resting on big rafts, honking away, which little kids will love
