Wonderful old theater. Great acoustics! Super friendly staff. Went to see A Christmas Carol . Im hearing impaired but actors did a great job so I actually SAW What they said! Love it! Oh, dont forget to grab one of tje fresh yummy cookies for sale to the right of the venue.
I took my mother and we had such a great time. The area is very so nice! There are so many restaurants around it. I loved it overall. I was just a little upset with the play but I love the theater.
Loved this venue. Nicely done & well organized. Even managed to get a parking spot in their tiny lot. Rock of Ages was well done, professional and great fun. Now that weve been here we plan to keep an eye out for more performances. As others have said, theres really not a bad seat in the place & we ended up in the very top row, center section. They were perfect for us.

Gem of a theater. We saw an afternoon production of Rocky Horror Picture Show and the cast was FANTASTIC and absolutely nailed it. Beautiful little theater, doesnt seem to be a bad seat in the house. They do offer pre-show and intermission drinks. Great location, a bit of a walk from the light rail, but not too bad at all.
Great Playhouse. The Last Five Years was a tough play to understand. Singing and music was very well done. The two actors worked well together, and both had great voices.
It was fun and an intimate experience. We saw a christmas carol and it was a fun take on a classic. Small theatre felt closer to the action.
The musical Rock of Ages was so entertaining! Great talent, exceptional singers and musicians! Every seat is wonderful. Love the smaller venue and free close parking. They also offer happy hour prices on concessions a half hour before the show.
Good productions, great acting, and a nice facility. Weve enjoyed every play we attended. Very reasonable cost for a great time.
Cute theater with some really good productions. Affordable and can usually get last minute tickets.
Saw Rock of Ages with my wife. It was a great experience. I highly recommend you check out a performance here.
Spectacular production of Last Five Years. Wonderful experience, and surpassed all of my expectations
What an awesome theatre. The way the they are arranged means that there isnt a bad seat in the place. With how small it is as well, theres a really great feeling that comes with being around so many people out on the patio pre-show and during intermission. I strongly, strongly, recommend catching a show here as often as you can.
Amazing experience. Tamara Rodriguez Mehl is an amazing performer! This young lady needs to be given a shot on the big screen. Absolutely talented!!!
Rock of Ages is a fun look at the 80s - musical comedy. Cast are definitely enjoying themselves. Fun! Fun! Fun!
Absolutely love this place and their employees are super friendly
Great little theatre in a great location. Ive seen 2 shows here and they were both amazing.
This will always be a favorite. The shows are high quality and there isnt a bad seat in the house. It is always a treat to go to the Cygnet!
I usually enjoy the plays they put on at this theater, but sometimes their plays are a little bit weird & not always the best!! It seems to be hit or miss with the type of plays you will see at this theater!!
Great theater not a bad seat in house.
Cozy and personal theater located in Old Town. Not flashy, but friendly and full of warmth from the staff and actors. Got to sit in the front row this time, but all the seating seems like it provides that up close feel. We saw a Christmas Carol here and I was thoroughly impressed. The actor who played Scrooge was perfect, nailing the character all the way down to the first breath under the light on stage.
A good mix of shows, some grand, some banal. Parking can be tough especially in the warm months - tourist season. 99% of restaurants nearby are Mexican style food. I f thats what you want - good. If no, then .....
The stories the Theatre tell are absolutely fantastic, and they way they tell them are truely wonderful.
Love this little theater! Great productions, intimate environment. Worth coming to a show here!
A San Diego treasure. Angels in America was phenomenal. Cozy intimate theater experience. Brilliant production and outstanding casting. Thanks for a wonderful experience.
A very nice venue. Seats are comfortable and have a good view of the stage. Its small enough to feel intimate. The PA supplements the speakers voice unobtrusively so its very audible but still feels natural. After being in San Diego 50 years I finally got to see a show here and Im so glad I did!
Fantastic place. The actors were entertaing and the theatre was very clean. Bathrooms were nice a tad small and they have a small concession stand on hand. Its mainly run by volunteers and some students who perform. The sound quality was good and plenty of leg room.
Saw a great play. Great actors.
Great productions, casts, and musical/play choices for the seasons!
While the performances are great, acting, singing, staging the seating is not. The seats are tight, crammed in and no leg space. Parking is amble and free, bathrooms are clean and accessible and the staff is lovely. Oh but the seats!
Attended The Christmas Carol and it was wonderful!
Wonderfully friendly staff. Inventive productions. Audience seating on three sides of the stage.
Rock of the Ages was very fun and campy. Great value (as usual) at this theater.
It’s a small theatre but very confortable and no matter where you sit you’re going to enjoy the show at best.
I saw Camelot at the Cygnet theatre. It was wonderful! Great casting, great execution, inventive set, comfortable seating, sufficient raking so no heads blocking the view of the person behind them. Parking lot next to the theatre. Friendly staff. Great all around.
Intimate cozy Theater. Good variety of shows. Cant wait to see Rock of Ages.
One of my favorite theaters!
This is a lovely theater from just about every seat
Oh wow is all! A must visit. Enjoy!
Great Leap....great theatre!
Has own parking area.
Write Out Loud is fantastic. Wonderful readers, awesome literature, and wine and cheese. 3 for 3 with plans to return!
Fun atmosphere and excellent actors guild
Fantastic little theater. There isnt a bad seat in the house, and the performances are always fantastic. They mainly put on smaller or older plays and musicals here, but its always a great time.
Wonderful venue for a play or musical. “A Little Night Music” was freshly staged and well sung by the complete cast. Great productions and cash bar before show and at intermission!
Saw Spamalot tonight. The cast and singing were terrific. The small theater provided excellent views for all. During this bad heat wave, unfortunately the AC seem to best on low. Despite that this tiny theater is a gem, bringing Broadway to Old Town.
The play was wonderful, well written & masterfully performed. Everyone was so nice & helpful, but on the 2nd half they ran out of oatmeal cookies.
Saw HIR. Very intense, not a comedy as advertised, but excellent food for thought. Great performances.Theater itself has a nice comfortable feel.
I am always surprised and delighted with each performance I have seen at the Cygnet. They never disappoint. The talent assembled for Spamalot is unbelievable. I highly recommend the Cygnet.
Nice theater, has all the stuff you need to watch a great show.
This is a great place! So convenient, perfect size, magical! You will never be disappointed. I have seen 3 plays and came away completely satisfied.
Nice small but not too small theater, every seat is good, and they always do excellent work.
I have seen many shows here that keep me thinking and feeling. Theater that matters.
Saw spamalot here. 100/10 would go again. Dont be deceived by the farm-like outside of the theatre.... it is very elegant on the inside
Had the opportunity to see A Christmas Carol here. Its a great little theater that allows for an awesome overall experience. We loved it!
The actors are good and high energy. A long walk from rail transportation. Fun enough.
The Theater is in the old town., very popular very touristy. Loved the theater experience.. Felt there was way too much staff for this small theater
Great intimate little theater! Not a bad seat in the house.
Great Christmas play
Exquisite venue, the highest quality actors. Thoroughly enjoyed the show. Not a bad seat in the house!
Great seatung
This place has been here as long as I can remember. An amazing place to watch a show. I used to take my grandma there, we always had a good time, now my wife and I enjoy going.
Excellent productions. They do designer showcase where we get to hear from the plays designers. This makes seeing the play more interesting.
Great musicals that are very unique!Weve been several times and the quality has always been high. Very different than what you would find in the mainstream play houses. Also, everything seat is very affordable and there isnt a bad seat in the house! Highly recommend trying out a play that sounds good to you.
Beautiful, cozy theater. Love it!
Great cosy theatre with very provocative shows
Cute little cozy theater in Old Town. Puts on surprisingly professional productions for such a small theater. Seats are comfortable and roomy even for a tall person. They have a nice patio out front for relaxing before and after the show, and a selection of snacks and drinks for sale. Parking can be challenging, but their web site has some suggestions that help a lot.
Saw The Wind and the Breeze. And was able to meet the community engagement director plus the plays actors!! Everyone was so awesome and really lovable. Would highly reccomend it and at a very small yet intimate theater.
Cheesy! Went to see “every brilliant thing “ play. Morbid! People crying in the crowd. Stay away if you want to have a entertaining evening.
Saw a Christmas Carol here and it is a really neat little theater. It is a fun place to see a play and not too crowed. Very intimate.
Wonderful venue. Amazing talent could use new cushions in the seats
Marie and Rosetta. Thoroughly enjoyable, happy I went.
Great theater.. great productions. Never disappoints
Excellent actors and props. Very enjoyable!
Small theater but cozy. Great show (Spamalot) and very helpful staff.
There are some real quality shows here. This place is definitely underrated. The stage is ample, sound is great, and the production staff is professional. They tried out this idea where you live tweet during the show. That was interesting.
Not only is the place itself wonderful, but the staff are lovely as well.
Great small theater venue
It is a great venue...right in the heart of Old Town. Just know the seating is a bit tight but its worth it.
Good seats great shows #culture
We love our date nights here
Awesome theater in Old Town! Great performance at this place.
Lovely little theatre in the heart of Old Town, lots of variety in the shows.
Great theater, no bad seats! Saw Spamalot and absolutely loved it!
Intimate theater with great productions
Saw Christmas carol. They dont allow cameras in the theater so I dont have pictures but it was a wonderful experience
Really enjoyed A Little Night Music. First saw it in 1973 on the east coast, and then last weekend at Cygnet.
Parking is terrible, but thats Old Town. The ticket reservation process was simple and easy. They do send a lot of mailers out though. The show was funny, entertaining, and had broad appeal. I think their sound design needs a little work, even for a small theater.
Great intimate space. The actors really know how to use the area
Good talent in a great community setting
Great show time with my Mom very nice.
Small place and very cozy.
Excellent shows at great prices in a small theater
Saw Spamalot and enjoyed it very much...good cast and production.
