This place is great if you love rock! They rock all night! Great bands great people. Very upbeat happy vibe through the entire night. Lots of different people come in here. I guess everybody likes cheap music at a great price. Saw Brian Jones revival, phew! I think there like 9 people in the band... They played for 2 heres straight no breaks! Five bucks for that!!!??? All day Im be there every time Brian is paying from now on!!!!

It looks like a really small shop and you wouldnt expect much but its really good. I got the Salmon & my friend got the Porcini. The porcini was great and had lots of flavor but I didnt feel too strongly about my Salmon, it wasnt a good mix with the pasta sauce and was plain. It was really busy so it took them a while to give us our bread and then when they set down the food, I had to get up and ask for the Parmesan and sauce. The food was great but a little over pricEd for the size.

Music is good, venue is good, door guys good, but the bartender lady was super rude, got drink orders wrong and then says Deal with it, turns her back and walks away. Too bad because Winstons is usually on point. However, Ive been there at least 50 times and have had a few different bartenders who are unprofessional. If you dont like to serve people find a new career. Customers should go next door to the Arizona to have good drinks, good service before heading to Winstons.

Been a few times and always been good times. Went early (6pm) on a Saturday and they had a few good bands with a fun atmosphere. Its never been nut to butt crowded. It has the vibe of 710 (PB).

Saw a reggae show here. Nice intimate setting, and everyone was super chill. Bartenders were attentive and friendly despite the volume

Saw a great band! Wolfmans Other Brother. Lots of great original music plus a few of my favorite covers. Incredible version of Free by Phish! They are back on March 22 from 5pm til 8. Ill definitely be there!

I have had a great time in the past here too. Good drinks favorite beers. Its like a home like attitude. Nice layout for a club. This place has overcome the test of time. Drank beer with my Dad here on Grateful dead tour, mid 90s. Glad we still have this club.

Mike is the best bartender I have ever seen in my entire life. Not even a close second. If it was ranked per unit value of bartending beastmode mike has a 398 rating and the competition is pouring at a soft 167. Mike is a wet man in a dry world.

Best place in Ocean Beach for drinks and music!!!

Love this place and they have reggae music every Wednesday and its the perfect way to end your day after shopping at the farmers market. Seen Slightly Stoopid here back in 2001 as well as Natural Vibrations. There is comedy shows and live music throughout the week so check their calendar for something you might like because they have something for everyone here.

My Favorite Place To Dance to really awesome bands.The bouncers look really serious but they do a good job keeping the place safe. A great place to let my beard down.

Im deffinately going to stop in and check Winstons out on my next visit to OB. I was a local in this place 30 years ago and loved the lad back vibe, great tunes and people. Drinks were always right on. I hope they still have reggae night!

Fun piano bar. Good place to bring out-of-town guests. I wish the place was a little bigger, but what can you do? The bartenders were nice and attentive. Good beer selection.If you are easily offended, might want to try somewhere else. The songs can get pretty dirty! :)

My Favorite. The window allows you to get a full view in before the bands start. A lot of times you can see mic check and be on the street at the same time.

Winstons is my favorite club thats on the beach in San Diego at Ocean Beach. I lived in Point Loma and for a local joint that plays all different kinds of music from many types of bands. The sound of Ocean Beach music can heard and recognized in bands like Sublime and Slightly Stupid. They have Hip Hop night on Thurs and Mondays is music from bands that play the Grateful Dead you will love this place.

Took mother-in-law to see punk band! She loved the tequila sunrise, and I loved my beer and hardcore punk. Fun fun fun

Went there mostly as its on the local Hostels list of places they go to and a friend played there while the drink is cheap. Proper dive bar.

I came here on vacation and was just passing by and a Grateful Dead tribute band was playing, so I decided to go in and I was not disappointed . Service was great drinks are awesome. The people here are so friendly. This place is great, I wish I can give them more than 5 stars

This is one of my favorite bars to go to in San Diego. It is so much fun to have some drinks and sing along to fun songs and watch people go up on stage to do their things. I also love how there is no cover charge if you are a student or in the military.

IT hasnt changed in decades and more than likely probably wont in the future.Centrally located on Bacon off of Newport, it is part of the beating heart of OB. With a cast of characters that covers the entire gambit.THere is live music and performance art, you can only find in here in OB

Small venue that packs a punch. Old-school music and Jam-bands. Dog friendly. This location is focused on the music scene. Friendly staff and more of a mainstream audience (non-alternative lifestyles).

A bartender wouldnt serve me a drink. I waited ten minutes and gave up. I was polite and smiling. She snapped at me WAIT. HER LOSS.

If youre looking for the prototypical SoCal beach dive bar, this is it. On a side street just off the main drag in OB, its open to the street, frequently has live music with well known local bands and others from all over Southern California, but is otherwise all-bar. Loses a star for limited parking options. Youll be lucky to find any within several blocks on a summer weekend. But if you want the full beach dive bar experience, you should be taking Uber anyway.

Great little spot for local and national touring bands . Lots of local artists and craftsmen participating in various types of events . They feature and amazing Grateful Dead cover band every Monday night and tons of other fun bands . Good beer selection with fair prices and attentive staff. No parking but there are always street spots within walking distance. If it’s s popular national touring band get there early or buy tickets before as it is a small and intimate venue which sells out often . (100-130 max occupancy I believe ) Tip well and you will be treated well . ️️OB

Standard OB dive bar but with the added bonus of having some really impressive musicians. Great place for live music.

Love the ambiance and the weekly jam sessions... A rare treat in most cities but this really makes Ocean Beach a true musicians enclave.

Solid spot for cool bands. Great booking, been here twice recently. Pro tip: street parking in the area is brutal and the neighborhood has almost no paid parking lots. Found one on Oak between Divisadero and Broderick. Pay system is odd (you have to call them and give your CC info and plate #) but its 2.5 blocks from venue and only $12.

Winstons is a bit of a dive bar, but it has a lot to offer. Its a real mecca for local music. The Electric Waste Band has been playing every Monday for over 25 years. The bartenders and other employees are great. The tie dye parties and painting classes are fun. Its definitely my favorite music club!

Great live music club located at the beach in the heart of Ocean Beach. Winstons Beach Club features all musical genres from the Grateful Dead to Bob Marley and comedy to boot. Youll be hard pressed to find another club in the greater San Diego area with this much character and atmosphere. Come in for the music and stay for the ambiance.

Great place to watch a show... every night they are booking a different act, with some repeating throughout the month -- for instance, if you want a Grateful Dead-ish kind of show, then definitely check out the electric waste band. Other than that, a musician myself, Ive played there countless of times, and each time was great.
