Beautiful, old, quiet, majestic! There are so many cool old things to see here. Giant trees, old buildings, a grotto, commemorative plaques and a reflection pool that you can swim in, ancient springs and lovers and children.

Its Beautiful. With a capital B! It seems as though people have forgotten the renovations that have been done to the park., because their wasnt really any one at the park. There is a great walking/running track. And the gigantic trees offer excellent shade on hot sunny days. You can picnic, BBQ, And big sparkling blue swimming pool; which I wonder if/when it will open up again.

Nice park loved the trees. Wouldve given 5 stars had it not been for the homelessness displayed throughout the park. Publicly its an eyesore and personally its an annoyance when you want to go to enjoy time with your family and cant because youre being bothered aggressively for a handout.... Sadly I am usually good about helping if I am able but the nerves of some pestering you and displaying negativity because you say No, not today! This park is way too beautiful to be clouded with this type of atmosphere.

San Pedro Springs Park is very beautiful, cozy, plenty of spaces to enjoy the park, and the beauty of the environment is awesome. Due to the pandemic most of the parks are closed; however, I am patiently waiting for this park to reopen so I can bring my family and friends to enjoy one of San Antonios awesome recreational facilities in the world!

It was really nice today.. It was a beautiful day . Sun was shining. Not too hot, not too cold . The water looked fresh . We saw a lizard . People were friendly. There was free parking .. we were able to take a bunch of pictures. They didnt have the fence around the pool area like they do in the summer .So it was wide open easy to maneuver. There were restrooms there . After words it was a short trip to Japanese Tea gardens. Im glad I came here today ..,

Its a very nice park. There are lots of big trees and open fields. During the summer months the swimming pool is open to the public. Its a cool temperature.I come here for Camp Gladiator. The trainer and Campers are great! The trees provide plenty of shade when you work out. The work outs are intense, but achievable. I know its easier said than done. You get what you out into it. You just have to check it out for your self.(11-11-19) 42⁰. Its cold and the wind is blowing hard. Were her kicking butt

This is the best park ever. The active springs in the past were delightful to watch, and they were everywhere. The history behind the park is very interesting also, especially since this was the site of our first zoo and the location for hot air balloons back in history. My family and I love visiting this park always. Thank you City of San Antonio.

I think the park is great. However, there are too many homeless people walking around and stalking people. One old lady was follwoing my kid and wife and didnt stop staring at them. Another guy was walking around looking at people. I would only come back if I was there with my family, but police need to do a better job.

I really love the history of this park. It is the oldest park in Texas and second oldest in the US. Unfortunately it has seen better days. There was alot of trash. The swimming pool was very dirty and smelled strongly of algae, as did many of the water features. The park seemed overall unkempt. Perhaps in the summer when the pool is kept up, it is better. It was still a nice little walk.

Quaint historic park nestled in the heart of the city. In the summer, the pool opens for swimming - there are also BBQ grills for public use. During the rest of the year, the tennis courts are available. If youre looking for entertainment, the Playhouse hosts a variety of shows throughout its season.San Pedro park is a great spot for walking and dog walking. My pup loves chasing squirrels and ducks. Its her favorite hobby! The park does attract some of the citys homeless population, so be weary if you go at night (Ive also seen a couple of instances of people under the influence). It is also rumored that the park is haunted. I recently visited with my pup at night, and it definitely had a spooky feeling, unlike the vibe during the day. The park is the oldest in Texas, so take a stroll and check it out. Its my favorite little park in San Antonio.

Not a large park but grassy and flat with a pretty concrete river and gazebo. Very pretty landscaping like all the local places I visited. Parking is awful so dont count on being able to visit at all. Consider a scooter or bus. The pool was glorious but being free, packed from opening until closing. I managed to find a patch of bark chips to throw my towel down and swam in and around the multitudes of bodies at 7pm. Id still visit again though if I was in the area. Large tennis complex is also on the grounds with more convenient parking, as well as the community theater.

The park is so large. It almost feels like its own City. You can go swimming in a spring-fed pool. Enjoy barbecuing at the picnic tables. Watch your children play at the playground. Be amazed by the talent of the young and old at the skatepark. I walk around and look at all the unique trees. The park is so huge. You can either be around people or not be around people.

The San Pedro Springs in San Antonio Texas was named by Fathers Olivares & Espinosa while on an Exhibition of Spanish owned Texas on April 13 of 1709. Previously Indian land the San Pedro Park (where the Headwaters of the Spring begins) was dedicated in 1729 by King Philip of Spain. The Park is just over 46 acres (18.6 hectares). It is also the 2nd Oldest Municipal Park in the United States. Do come and visit San Antonio, perhaps the most Européen City in the USA. This territory has been Claimed (owned?) by 6 different countries including Texas itself (being its Own Country for several years at one time) thus The 6 Flags of Texas Interestingly, the San Pedro Springs flows through downtown San Antonio but has NO relations with the Highly Touted and Famed Riverwalk that is the San Antonio River! A current and nearly finished project will Enhance the San Pedro Springs from its Headwaters, here at the Park, to Possibly form a 2nd Riverwalk . Keep Looking for Those Plans!

Now this is a park you can sit back and enjoy the finer, simpler things in life. The peacefulness of the spring fed pool and the water falls will put you in a state of awe. This park is really beautiful, one of my favorites of the parks Ive been to around town... We enjoy watching the birds catch crayfish from the little streams. Theres lots and lots of shade from all the big trees which are actually pretty beautiful too. They have areas open to use with a grill and nice stone tables to sit at... Of course theres an awesome swimming pool but thats only open at certain times.
