Original and fun! Clean and well sheltered. The climbing rock is the most fun. The exercise equipment was also a hit! We had a nice lunch at the picnic table also.
I just go and eat lunch there. Trails look nice. One side of the street is all greenery while the other side opens to a valley and beautiful homes.
Such a cute little park! We went on an after date walk in the evening. It was very nice with all the trees and different meadows to check out!
This is my go to run route. It has the perfect balance of scenery and people. If anything I wish there were more water fountains along the routes.
This was the first park closest to us that we visited when we moved to the Stone Oak area years ago. Its been quite some time since weve been here. In driving by one day, I noticed bluebonnets near the entrance and wanted to see if I could get some photos and also go for a walk.We visited yesterday after work and there were quite a few people on the trail. There is so much greenery around the trail and I was initially missing seeing more flowers. Then there was a whole patch of beautiful yellow wildflowers. As we walked further, then there were white and yellow wildflowers.Well definitely be back to explore more parts of the different trails.
I love to come here with my kids and our dog. Nice playground and exercise area. The walk is around one mile long and is mostly shaded by trees. The surface is flat enough for kids scooters and strollers. There is a fountain, even for dogs, and a toilet. Great place.
Awesome park with plenty of trails, which are easy for the most part.
Nice mile long trail with much shade from the trees. It is always great to see a park with trees. I come here for mile runs and I enjoy the workout benches they provide along the path.
This is of my favorite parks to visit. Within just few minutes of walking you whisked away from hustle and bustle sounds of the street and cars to being emersed in to nature. The trails wind playfully though the park and present numerous photo opportunities. It is very common to come across wildlife, such as deer, squirrels, and other animals. Much of the trails are shielded from the sun by mature trees, which makes visiting the part enjoyable even during the hotter months. The walking paths are quite wide and offer room for park-goers to easily pass one another. The portion of the park which crosses Stone Oak Parkway is more for the off-road path goers with more undeveloped trails where you are more likely to see wildlife, and can expect less trees and more brush and flatland elevation. I highly suggest visiting the park when in the neighborhood. You will not be disappointed.
Clean trail for novice hikers. If youre seeking an outdoor walk this is the place to go. There is always someone walking their dog or a family with kids at this park. I have walked it alone, it can seem a little creepy as you begin to walk deeper into the trail and through the massive Texas shrubs, but suddenly a jogger will pass you by and you realize youre not alone. The path is well kept and maintained with the exception of occasionally a doggie present left smack in the middle because the owner failed to be respectful and pick-up after their pet. So keep your eyes open, the last thing you want to do is walk the entire trail smelling of dung.Lastly, if you have small children I tried bringing a stroller and a wagon and neither were able to make it passed the unpaved trail portion. Unless you have a stroller with those massive wheels, steer away on this one unless little junior can walk it or youre willing to carry him. Enjoy!Update: Apparently he heavy rains have affected this park immensely so much so that it literally was impossible to walk it without drowning! No signs were up, this park should have been closed for safety reasons. The City of San Antonio Office of Risk Management should be working with Parks to ensure that unsafe conditions such as this are cordoned off from public use until the hazard has been eliminated.
This park is nice, but the giant workout mom group is ruining it. There are way too many moms in this one group blocking off the walking trail or they take up the whole playground (imagine at least 15 to 20 kids from this one group, sometimes looks like a lot more). The instructor should be charged a fee to use the park as her workout studio. Ive heard her offer other moms walking by to take the class. Picture is just the beginning of the group so many more moms were catching up to the rest of the group.
Stone Oak Park is a quiet location with a variety of terrain and landmarks. One side of the road features denser woods, a playground, and a culvert tunnel, the other, a pair of small (sadly inaccessible) caves, amid open prairie and cactus. Exercise equipment and a playground are also scattered throughout the park.
Love the trails and facilities.
Such a great park. Lots of trails, wildlife and caves. Good for walking, biking, exploring, off road biking, animal and people watching
Good trail for a walk
Its ok for walking. Would not recomend for cyclist. The trails are narrow.
Its a really nice place for a nature walk. But easy to walk too far. Dont get worn out because youre going to walk back
Very nice trail to walk or run, quiet in the early mornings, would have preferred some unpaved path as it is fully paved
Absolutely beautiful park. Wonderful trails and interesting little rest stops and sculptures.
Small trail but nice
Fantastic walking trails with nice play areas
The playground is completely covered which is very good for hot days. Very laid-back atmosphere. I wish on very hot days that there was a little more shade but it is a great Park overall
Good park for a run, but I mean, it’s kinda boring.
Great small playground with lots of shade and tends to by popular with families. There are trails to walk and few parking spots which make it tight parking.
Favorite place for a quick paved hike with the fam when you want to get outside. Instantly feel like you are in nature and beautiful. Some good unpacked trails around the “dam” for trail running as well
My nephew (more like youngest son) and I come to this park almost every time they come to San Antonio. Its a great place to play freeze frame tag and jump off the big boulder into the tire mulch. Only thing I would change about the park would be to give the water fountains some shade.
Found out the wall stops and it is open to the road. The trail and playset are nice though.
This is a great place to walk. It is not usually overly crowded. Unfortunately, the last couple of weeks there seems to be an increase of dog feeces on and around the path. With the warmer temps, it stinks. Definitely watch where you step. Overall, peaceful and generally clean place to walk.
Its nice to have a little trail out this way, but theres not much to it. You can also see many homes while your walking and that kind of takes away from the experience. If you have kiddos, this place does have a small playgroud at the head of the trail.
MyGo-to Park for fitness. Besides the occasional animalFeces, the path is clear and easily accessible.
Great park, somewhere quiet to walk and play. I hope they repaint the parking spots though, you can hardly see them. And repave the walking trails so bumpy
Good walking trail
This park is a safe place to go and enjoy the outdoors. The trail is easy to walk in 15-20 mins
Awesome place to take a walk around.
Nice trail
Nice trail for bikes or walkin with the puppers.
Nice little park local park. Not the best for bike rides as it is short and the road is a little narrow but great for evening walks
Impressive, saw a deer so close to the trail path
It had lots of pokéstops at it which was nice. I liked the trail we went on. It was quite the adventure. It was very calming and relaxing. The sidewalks were clean, and well maintained. If you want to have a nice walk, just head on over there.
Pretty good. Poop everywhere
Park is well maintained, which is to be expected for where it is situated. Fellow Park goers are nice too
Kids like it. Porta potty didnt lock.
For all good reasons
Beautiful park to walk or run, there is a playground but its small. Parking lot fills up quickly on the weekends!
Nestled in the heart of Stone Oak, this park is great for enjoying nature, exercising and taking your beloved pet for a walk.
Very nice park with a nice play area, but there is extremely limited parking and can only be accessed from one direction in traffic.
Excellent walking trails and pretty scenery. Exercise equipent is along the trail to take a break and stretch or workout. Paths are easy and allow bikes. The area near Stone Oak Pkwy has a nice playground for the kids as well as restrooms. One of the better walking area in that section of the city.
Wonderful trees...very peaceful!!
Super easy park 2..on opposite sides of the street.
Very beautiful and well maintained trails
Trails are great...it’s beautiful! I recommend that everyone take a walk or ride thru this park there is even a cave!!!
Very nice place To live
Nice playground & trails to walk on.
Love, love, LOVE this park! Mainly is so great because its close to me. You can walk both sides of the park & cover around 4.3 miles.
Wow! We just discovered this place. Nice park with a place for kids to play and a picnic table.
Clean park
Could be a good park, need work though.
This park is so big! It has two parts. One with amazing and long walking trails the other woth interesting caves. They both are so fun and we go there all the time!
Not alot of traffic and exercise machines at beginning of park
This is a great park. There are two caves and little workout spots along the trails. It is a great place to go for a walk or run
I took the family here to walk on the trail. It was a great experience. They maintain this park well. We had a great hike
Cool
Beautiful park with pretty good trails. We could not believe that a park like this was so close to home when we moved here. My daughter loves the playground and we love the trails.
Terrible. Its not a park. In other words theres nothing for kids to enjoy anymore. Its small, boring, and no giant playgrounds anymore.
I love this park, I walk here almost every morning. Its a short 1 mile trail with the option of 1/2 mile as well, easy and beautiful. There are a few caves here that I love to visit.
Paved path. 3 Pokémon gyms, multiple stops.
Very nice park, they put a dinosaur proof cover over bear cave though so theres no going down there anymore.
The park has recently been expanded and is more full as a trail now, great for bikes or skateboards. The oldest section of the park should be repaved but the newer sections are great to walk through especially with family or friends.
Nice trails
It was a nice walk not to hard very easy.
I mostly use the paved trails on the north and south sides of Stone Oak Parkway for jogging. The south side has about 1.75 miles each way with the new extension, plus the .1 mile spur that goes up to Bush Middle. The loop on the north is about 1.2 miles. There are also dirt trails on the north side that are nice if it hasnt rained recently. The south side has a playground, fitness park, water and porta johns right near the parking lot. There is an amphitheater and more fitness stations down the trail a bit. The new extension after the tunnel is a nice addition!
This park has paved trails, mostly. Some of the trails are shady. It has an exercise area as well as exercise stations throughout the park. There is a playground but no swings. There are portable potties and water fountains, for people and fur babies.
I love how quiet and hidden this trail feels.
Fun park to bring the kids to. The trail is also fun and well maintained.
Very easy trail. Perfect for families with small children or bike riding.
Great environment trails not very long
I live south of the loop, but wandered here about a year ago in search of a new trail for my dog. I walked the south part of the park and the pathways were absolutely covered in dog poop- some bagged, some out in the open, but nearly all of it on the actual pathway instead of at least off to the side. Today, I thought Id check out the north side in hopes that things had changed- nope, still dog poop, mostly unbagged, in the middle of trails. A lot of it had turned grey, indicating it had been there a long time. At least the north half of the park was more scenic and had lots of educational signs about the caves and wildlife. All in all, however, just another reason to totally skip the Stone Oak area.
Great public park to exercise and kids to play at.
Nice place to walk.
We went running there and there is not much shade and tons of gnats (it was around 7pm). Good trails though, probably better in the fall
Very friendly neighborhood
Nice and quiet
Quiet fun park to hike.
Awesome park. Outside equipment is fun.
Great park for a short nature walk with a nice playground for the kids
Great park. Mile long trail to Bush Middle School. Small parking lot, completely fills up at popular times.
Really beautiful and peaceful place for a walk.
Nice and great place to do a walk or run.
Fantastic place to run and roam around. Theres a Park Police officer almost every day. The water fountain is broken thou.
This park has a cute little playground as well as a nice walking trail.
