Kids loved it. They enjoyed the boats continuing down or up river at different river levels

My wife and I were first time visitors. We took the river shuttle and met Leonard. Great day for the River.

Small, but mighty! Watched the gates open up and the water drain out. Must have been testing the gate operation since no boat was in the lock. Fascinating to observe!

Interesting side trip, who knew there was a lock and dam for the Riverwalk?!? A short walk from the hop on/hop off bus stops. There is a a great set of great historical markers just a short way downstream.

This place is a lot of fun and definitely worth checking out. So hard to do and its really fun to take the Riverboat shuttle which is different from the river boat cruise. For $17 per person they will pick you up and drop you off all the way up at the Pearl and bring you all the way down more popular portion of the Riverwalk. Its a great way to draw and you can get on and off as many times as you want for 24 hours

We walked the path along thr river lock. It was quiet and a nice getaway.

I enjoy walking along the RiverWalk, especially at night when the lights are on.

Nice place to see the Christmas lights along the Riverwalk, and very clean public bathrooms. Worth walking down to catch the light show.

Lovely atmosphere. We stayed at the Hotel Contessa and the customer service was fabulous. Both the hotel and the Riverwalk were spotless. The food was wonderful. EVERY meal was good. They keep all homeless and street people far away so its quite safe!!

Fast and efficient cool to watch and experience.

Well number 1, its no Panama Canel, lol. But I found it to be quite interesting. The Riverwalk Tourist Barges pull into the lock, the door closes then the barge goes up or down depending on the direction it is traveling. There is an excellent vantage point to watch the whole operation and the tourists usually wave. If you are at all interested in how things work, then check this out.

It was fun. We took the shuttle, without narration. It was a longer ride. We went to the Lock and Dam. You can get on and off. Our pilot, Jeff, was a sweetie. Was really interesting.

Beautiful area, great sights and food trucks

A must do if in San Antonio. Price is also well worth it. Boat captains are helpful and kind.

The process is super slow but still kind of neat to see. This area is a great place for a quiet stroll along the riverwalk.

The trip down the river was an excellent experience also can be very romantic as the sun sets.

Interesting to see how the San Antonio river’s water level is controlled. Extremely nice trail leading to and from location, it would be interesting to see in action.

Nice area to go for a stroll with family and friends. We enjoy the scenery and have incorporated some scenes into our homes.

Beautiful spot on the Riverwalk and views. Plenty of room to jog, run, or bicycle. Very clean and thanks to Block by Block for doing an amazing job in keeping it free of trash and graffiti it is a great place for the whole family. And if you are in downtown you can catch a river taxi there!

This part of the riverwalk is worth the visit. You can take the shuttle boat . Going thru the locks is fun and interesting.

We were really impressed with and inspired by this area, especially the serenity of the River Walk area when awAy from the Downtown area! The Downtown area is also beautiful and magical in its own way, just more crowded and consumer oriented! A Must Place to visit and enjoy again!!

They San Antonio Riverwalk looks really good. The new extension is nice. I would like to take a boat ride through the locks. As it was I just walked by then. The payment had love music and we sat by the locks and listened also its a nice walk from the downtown Riverwalk to the Pearl Riverwalk

My daughter and I went on the boat from the Pearl to the RiverWalk the weather was awesome and the ride was peaceful!

Nice spot to people watch around the corner from bars, restaurants and the San Antonio Museum of Arts and other attractions.

Overrated and many overpriced restaurants. Pretty at night though.

It was really fun to ride in the river transport boat and go through the locks. One Father in our boat told his family that now he didnt need to take them to Panama to experience the canal and locks!

Very cool if youre looking to just take a walk the bathrooms are very well maintained as well Id recommend going to a restaurant on the Riverwalk and taking the extra 5-10 minutes to just walk down you might get lucky and watch one of the water boots go from the lower level to higher or higher to lower

Nothing special happened or seemed likely to happen. But it made a good place to wait out a tough little T-storm.

It is amazing to be on the boat and being able to experience the lock system going up 9 feet and when you going down the doors almost look as if your entering Jurassic park.

Its a lock and dam... Not sure what your expectations are.

The lock and dam system on the Mission Reach of the San Antonio River is impressive. Just drive Broadway down to Brooklyn and turn west. Youll see a Texas version of the Panama Canal. Beautiful landscape and large native trees nearby.
