The park was dirty and just a bad area for a duck pond. It smelled very badly. The kiddie park next to it was under built and unorganized as far as imagination. The skate park and basketball court next to the pond seemed like the only places to enjoy. But not for small kids.
With social distancing still happening here in San Antonio, this was a nice outing for our little family. We had a great morning feeding the ducks. The park was pretty clean and everyone maintained their distance. During our visit there were only a handful of people walking the trail, but we did get there pretty early. We will be back again. This mama and her babies snuck up behind us for some bread.
I was pleasantly surprised. The park itself is small, bit it didnt seem to matter. I went with a friend and our kids played on the playground and the basketball court. They ran around the duck pond threw a football in some open space. We had a picnic lunch and just all around had a good time.
Ducks! Ducks everywhere! My daughter loves coming here to feed the ducks. There have to be literally hundreds of ducks and the park is beautiful. The only reason Im not giving it five stars is because theres duck poop everywhere that you have to avoid stepping in. Its not that big a deal and its the price you pay for having so many ducks to see. Bring some quarters or your own duck food. There are signs telling you not to give human food to the ducks.
Ducks and Turtles galore! The kids love feeding them and the park also has a playground and skate area. Its very pretty and romantic just to walk around the duck pond as well.Needs real bathrooms though!
Great experience, a diverse COMMUNITY and the skate park was amazing. Theres NO swings that was disappointing but really enjoyed the ducks. But, young lady allowed my son to use her long skateboard and although it was his first time, he was a natural. Ml
Nice, small park. We take our 13 year old dog here for strolls and she gets excited when she realizes where we are. We usually take a picnic blanket and just lay out on the field area (when its not too hot). We also take peas for the ducks!
This is one of the nicer parks in San Antonio. Has a covered basketball court, a skatepark, bike trail, and a bunch of ducks and geese waiting for you to come feed them. I would say this is my second favorite park after Pearsall.
Very nice park! Power packed! We started the morning playing chess at the board tables. We went on to walk around the gravel/cement walking path. After that it was skateboarding at the skatepark. There is a kids park that is very nice. Finally, playing basketball by ourselves under the covered pavillion. The ducks! All different types all ready to be fed. There are notes asking people to bring healthy snacks fot the ducks like bird seed instead of bread/crackers as romaine lettuce and fruit etc that are more nutritious for them.
Small park where many kinds of ducks live and interact with people. We bring duck feed and have fun feeding the ducks.
I really liked this park. My boys had a blast we walked around the little trail. I think some parts should have like a rail or something. Kids fed ducks and were excited that there were turtles! They played at the playground. It has a little area with picknick tables it was real nice. I didn’t like that you have to park like around the park on street would be cool if the had a parking lot.
Nice place with something for every age. Love the ducks too
Nice little park with play area, skate park, basketball courts and of course the duck pond for kids of all ages to enjoy.
So cool. Nice place to take a brisk walk or walk your dog, or just sit by and feed the ducks and turtles.
Had a great time out there with the wife. The park was VERY clean with lots of families and.other folks out enjoying the amenities.
Many ducks and turtles. Nice benches with plenty of shade and the pathways are taken care of. But the duck feeders are broken so bring your own lettuce.
Really nice park- great place to ponder. Turtles are a bit snappy. The ducks all come at you at once if you have food. But you know the ole saying, birds of a feather, fly together.
Great little park that is a nice place to come look at the ducks. Not enough places to sit but that’s ok. I would go here to walk. Always plenty of people so a safe place.
I love seeing and feeding the ducks. My family enjoys going to this park.
Its a nice little park to come and feed the ducks, kept on the cleaner side but whatever you do dont touch the pier... Whatever material its made of or whatever is on it made our two sons and my husband and I break out with a nasty rash. Felt like needles in our skin and was super itchy. This picture was after I wiped my sons skin off and itd had a few minutes to calm down. Super disappointing as its right in a family community...
This place is wonderful. Ducks are cute, tons of turtles. My kids love feeding them.
Great park. I just wish they had signs to let people know that bread is very bad for the ducks.Get some bird seed, lettuce or oats instead!
It was nice. There was a great breeze! Tons of cops tonight but alot of kids out getting exercise and skating.
Great place to take kids to. Plenty of ducks for everyone. A lot better than it used to be in the 80s. The ducks arent afraid to approach you. Dont forget to feed the turtles. There are lots of them too. The ducks easily monopolize the food even bumping the turtles out of the way. I make an effort to feed the turtles away from the ducks.
Cute place to take the kids on a walk to see the pond and wildlife. We went during spring and saw at least 10 duck families with duckling babies! Really scenic and quite place with lots to see!
Its a very cute little park. My only wish is that it had a parking area instead of parking on the side of the road. The park was very easy to find. There are a TON of ducks! There was no shortage of them to feed. Also a handful of geese and I saw at least 6 turtles. The park is pretty quiet, its right in the middle of a residential area. There is plenty of shad and benches along the walking trail that goes around the pond.Theres also a small park for the kids to run around.
Im terrified of ducks and geese but I had fun! Really nice and quiet.
A very short slow walk for the kids to enjoy the view of the ducks
Great place to sit and watch the ducks
Great place for ducks they just need to keep up with lawn n cleaniness
My grandkids love all the duck, they never seen, wants to go back again
Beautiful area with walking path around the pond and a well stocked variety of ducks and birds. There were also many turtles sunning themselves on tybee rocks. Playground for kids and pavilion for events and group activities. With the stop to check it out for yourself.
Great place for adults and children to observe ducks in their natural habitat. Feeders are available for 50 cents and there are plenty of benches to take in the scenery from a seated position.
Nice recess break my grandchildren are doing idea Virtual School
Love to walk it when ever I can.
Nice relaxing place to enjoy watching the ducks & turtles.
Nice park, children had fun. Nice walk path. Great family place.
The Time I went over to walk, there was about 50 dead fish in the pond. I did report the situation to The City, and they were able to situate the problem but I think we need to have more security cameras, and a better situation with the wildlife there. Also there is overcrowding at times with all the parties on the weekends. There are guys that overtake the basketball court which is not fair to everybody else.
The pond is not well maintained, too close to fast traffic, kids pose a danger if left unattended, the only cool spots are the Skateboard Ramps and basketball court I would give that alone a 5. Unfortunately its closed right now due to pandemic.
Poor ducks they need more water in the swamp they call a pond...city can recycle water into that place to make it look nicer
Its a nice place to walk your dog. And to get out of the house!
We love coming here to watch the ducks and play at the playground. Weve always felt safe and its usually pretty clean.
This is a nice family Park. The ducks are a major attraction.
This place was nice, my gf Angela brought me here to feed ducks and turtles.
Ducks, geese, and turtles everywhere. My one year old loved it!
Great park for runners, I go there almost every morning, for my cardio, and it’s usually quiet, during morning commute, some traffic, but nothing bad. I wish there was more to look at though, while it is a park for kids, I wish there was an outside gym, or more natural habitat to see. It’s a great park, just very bland.
Love interacting with the ducks at the duck pond. Seeing so many turtles is amazing as well.
Small park with a nice playground for the kids. There’s a pond with bird food stations around it for 25 cents a serving to feed the ducks. They’ll come right up to you. There was no formal parking lot that I found on my visit, but street parking is free and was very available.
Basketball park, skate park, childrens playground and gravel trails with lots of ducks to feed
Cute little park with lots of turtles and ducks. Bring plenty of stuff to feed them
This is an absolutely beautiful park. I saw at least 3 different species of duck and countless other species of birds. There are also turtles in the pond that stick their heads out of the water. There are also food dispensers for feeding the ducks. Im sure the kids will love this place.
The park Had an ice cream truck and a variety of cute ducks as well as a young kids playground area a skate park and a full sized covered basketball court that the kids loved! Unfortunately for toilets it was Just portable restrooms.
A little dirty. but enjoyable
My children love skating at the bball court
Nice place to do your morning walk.
Loved it definently going backMoni ....
Its such a peaceful place.
Dirty ..alot of Garbage but fun for the kids
Love coming here to just get away and see nature at its best with all the different ducks
It was pretty safe, till someone was killed last year.
The park was nice, clean, and peaceful!
Friendly ducks and a very clean atmosphere
Not bad. Im sure itll be better once this virus is less of a worry. Its definitely gotten a lot better than it was when I was a kid. Damn Im old. Lol.
Cool place to walk around and feed the ducks and turtles.
Took our Clients to enjoy the ducks, turtles, trail, basketball and the playground. Had a blast we did.
Ducks were out it was a beautiful day
Relaxing cordial and community oriented.
Great WALKING AREA FAMILY
Peaceful outing with park and trail
Its a great place to take a walk and feed the ducks. The kiddos will enjoy it.
Its a great place to spend time with your kiddos, or just take a nice stroll on any day
Great! Feed those duckies!
My children absolutely love this park! We have been going there for years now. It would be great if they added some swings, etc for the older kids but other than that, it’s great! My kids love that it’s a little bigger and they have lots of room to roam.
If you have children its a must go fun place to hang out and feed the ducks and turtles totally love it
This is a beautiful and friendly park with a pond a playground a skate area and basketball court it is my childhood spot
Nice large area to hand out for an hour or so with the little ones while the older kids are in school. It can get a little busy there. Especially when the over populated ducks are roaming around
It was very spacious and well laid out. I liked the pavilion in the center of the park. Didnt get to visit the adjoining pond to visit with the ducks but plan on going again.
Great place to walk in the evening. They have a variety of things for the family. Paved walk way for the runners and joggers. Covered and lighted basketball court. The pond has endless ducks to feed for the kids. Jungle gym to wear your kids out. Family and pet friendly place.
Love it!!! Friendly place to walk around and feed the ducks
Nice duck pond but there is a lot of trash around the park. I feel that parks and recreation should put some workforce behind cleaning it.
Kiddos love feeding the ducks and playing on the skateboard ramps.
Always has been a great place for fun with the family
Its ok. There always seems to be trash all over the place. It is a nice place to check iut if you are in the area.
Rainy day never miss a photo with monica
Good family park with a walking trail. Love the PokemonGo community that gathers here.
Park was clean...people friendly and lots of ducks to see in and out of pond...my grandson loved it..
Nice area, too many ducks though. Has picnic tables and BBQ pits, basket ball court and skate board area. Biggest down fall is no safe parking area.
Nice place bb court play ground jogging track pond full of Ducks & turtles lots of trees bring chairs just n case
A lovely oasis in the middle of a pleasant community. Ducks are very friendly. Please dont bring bread, signs are posted that its bad for the ducks. Thawed frozen peas and carrots and other shredded greens are great for them.
Outstanding walking, running,or jogging track, around park . Kids area clean & decent. Basketball vourt & skateboards are eelcome over,bu the basketball area. Also, quite a few bbq areas. Enjoy, dont forget the duckes. . **Please drive slowly**. Watch out for any ducks crossing.
