My first experience in this place! Worth it! The staffs were so helpful especially kaylee... she was so sweet and polite to us. We really enjoyed here. Will definitely be back
Loved it . It gets you motivated to new ideas. And helps with your working together skills. Many possibilities. Want to go back again. It just was me and my daughter Amy, the more people the faster you find clues. Happy Birthday Amy love you
3.5 stars. The staff was very helpful, attentive and welcoming. No complaints there. Issue I had was the room itself. We did the room undead. Cool looking room on the inside. But the room basically consisted of about 10 or 12 locks. Theres really nothing pushing you in the direction of which lock to open. You see a 4 number combination on a piece of paper, and you have to start inputting the number on one of the locks. There werent many pieces of paper etc. Pushing you in the right direction. There was no story line. Ive been to some excellent escape rooms, and this unfortunately wasnt one of them. If might try out another one of their rooms. BTW we didnt escape the room. But I think we could have if there was more pushing us along the way.
For the past 2 years weve made it a Halloween tradition to do an escape room. This year we did The Undead and it did not disappoint. We even took our 11 year old and he loved it! So much fun!
Mike, Jordan, and Joseph were amazing host! Loved the atmosphere and really enjoyed my time with my family. Had access to all sanitation needs (gloves and hand sanitizer). This place is a MUST VISIT while you’re in town! I’ll be going again for sure. Thanks guys!
The escape room was pretty decent with some new mechanics I hadnt seen in other rooms Ive done. I enjoyed attending. I did feel there were a lot more just key and combo locks vs more puzzles. Struggled a little on this room though with some of the puzzles, but overall not bad. Avoiding spoilers, so I cant so much else about the room. Give them a try. The price was reasonable and with them allowing you to not have to be booked with others, it can be a lot of fun with just family and friends.
Had an unfortunate experience (door got locked and we couldnt get to button to ask for help). However, after contacting the manager Mike at the location, his customer service was amazing. Was originally 2 stars right after the incident but now 5 after interacting with Mike. Thank you.
We love escape rooms. These guys have good puzzles. Staff is friendly. The only reason I gave 4 stars is that some of the rooms are older and were ready for some new adventures!
It was a great place to have a party for a 16 year old. The kids had a great time. The party room was clean. The kids were able to solve the room.
Friends and I are constantly going to different escape rooms around the central texas area and this one is by far the BEST! The whole facility was welcoming and the Extreme Escape team made our experience fun and safe, especially game masters Jordan and Joseph! I highly recommend this escape room if you’re looking to have an experience you won’t forget!
My family and I had a really fun time! The staff were awesome and we had an awesome host. Thanks (Jordan)
4 kids (8-13 in age), 2 Parents, and 1 awesome Grandmother = 100% fun escape room!!!
We had a blast at Extreme Escape! We reserved the Mutiny room & had a great time!! After we were done, we decided to do a 2nd room, Trapped Below, and had even more fun! It was perfect for my family (we have 3 kids ages 4-12) & we will definitely go again!! Our hosts Jordan & Kaylee were great & made our 1st time doing an escape room a blast!!
Loved the adventure with my family. I don’t even want to give it one star. We were accused of stealing a key. Are we sure it’s not in our pockets. Check your pockets. If I had the key I would have used it. So we asked where the third key was. He looked in two places then went to an opened box and said in here. Put his hand in and said oh, it’s in the corner. Sorry dude pretty much stuck my head in and was not in there. Locks were sticky and map door supposed to spring open. Told us DO NOT PULL. 20 min wasted trying the map to get it to open. Reapplied map like 8 times when it was correct first time. wasted a clue for what we had been trying. Finally Harrison pulled on it and it opened. Again great time with family but absolutely do not ever recommend this place. Then asked who pulled the tape with the key off the rat. WHAT. It’s freaking tape. Horrible, horrible, horrible. Don’t waste your money. Buy a Chinese finger puzzle instead.
Micheal, Jordan & Joseph were an amazing host love the atmosphere was a super great place for family fun. SUPER CLEAN HAND SANITIZER EVERYWHERE .
Went to Extreme Escape with 5 coworkers and had a great time. We did the Mutiny pirate-themed room. The site advertised it as being something like a 7/10 difficulty. I would rate it as 5/10. The staff was great and the room had good ambience. I think the problem was that it was so dark, they couldnt really use misinformation. We went from puzzle to puzzle quickly. Would certainly go again.
We escaped! With minutes to spare. Pretty elaborate set up.
We reserved The Undead for my wifes birthday last week. It was great. My only recommendation is that you have no less than two people and no more than four. This will allow for a more panicky experience. Also, it would be great if some of the tasks were concurrent instead of nearly all of them being consecutive. This would allow everyone to be working on different tasks at the same time. By the way, Jacob and Joseph were fantastic employees.
Shared a team building experience with my co-workers. There were 13 of us and we split into two groups, one into Undead and the other in Mutiny. My group had 6 and we were in Undead. This was my first escape room and I truly enjoyed it. Puzzles were difficult but not impossible. The ambiance was great and even though it was dark it fit the theme of our room. Staff was friendly and everything was very clean. Look forward to going again!
Jacob thank u for giving us the best experience we must do it again
Our host was very welcoming and my family and I enjoyed ourselves!!!
Good experience, had fun with my family and friends.
Extreme Escape provides fun yet quick adventures! We triedThe Undead and had a great time. The puzzle were challenging but achievable especially when working together. Look for clues in every corner since some are hidden well. Afterwards, enjoy a complementary beer. Theres a simple board games and I Spy books to spend some time while you wait for your reservation. Check to see if there is a Groupon available for a sweet discount.
Great fun and more than enough space to not feel uncomfortable, highly recommend!
An amazing experience! Loved everything about this place, the staff and the decorations in the room. Would 100% recommend this place for anyone looking for some fun memories
Extreme Escape is always a lot of fun. Ive done all but one of the rooms, and Ive never left unhappy. Taking a themed photo after you escape is a great way to preserve the memory of the event and we were even offered complimentary drinks the last time I was there. Ill definitely go back!
Did 2 different rooms here and it was a great experience. Todd, one of their employees, was a pleasure to talk to in between rooms and was very funny/entertaining (Im sure it kills his kid to know others think he is hilarious). We will definitely come back to do the remaining rooms and then we will 100% go to Stone Oak to try out 4 more. Great overall experience and they gave a good deal on Groupon and a good discount for the second room.
Super fun. People are great and the rooms are challenging. Great for a group. Fun afternoon.
Every room we have done with this company has been spectacular, EXCEPT FOR TRAPPED BELOW! We went to the 830pm room with 8 people playing the room. To start while the game master was explaining the rules, he told us to NOT touch the switches below on the fuse Box. Later in the game when we were stuck, we had to use a hint to find out that the information the game master told us about the switches was wrong. There was a point in the game where we were stuck on the schematics for 20 minutes! Wasted a hint for the game master to constantly keep telling us that we were doing something wrong multiple times until finally they came in and told us it was faulty. They only gave us 5 minutes of our time back for that. The lock on the tnt pump was broke. The hints given by the game masters were completely vague and were only telling us things that we had already solved. The overall attitude of the staff was also not very inviting, as if they were aggravated with us.Overall I think the room theme was great but the service and how the staff executed the clues and interacting with our group was absolutely terrible. My dad and I have done 5 escape rooms with this company, and have really enjoyed them! That’s why we kept coming back. This last room has been the first negative experience we’ve had with them. But TRAPPED BELOW has by far been the trashiest experience of them all.
So First of all, this place was so much fun for my family and I! We started with the undead experience which was our first adventure. It was challenging, a little scary but extremely exciting. Every time we found a clue our hearts would race with excitement. We almost completed the room but fell just short. It was so much fun that we paid to do another room. This time it was the trapped below room. It was equally as fun. It felt so real at times and its easy to really get into the moment do to the amazing props and room design and decor. We were able to complete this room with about 5 minutes left on the clock. They offer complimentary drinks and water. The staff was very friendly and were willing to answer any questions. Jordan took the time to really show us around and take care of us while we were there. He was an awesome host! If you are looking for a fun date or a great family experience then look no further. This place truly was alot of fun and we cant wait to do our next room!!! Good luck on your next escape!!!
THIS PLACE IS AWESOME!!The staff is super energetic, and the setup is crazy detailed and thoroughly laid out. The rooms are very professional, and the objects are purely mystifying. The check in process is also super easy.I would 10/10 recommend this escape room to anyone who is new to the idea, for the game master does a great job of clueing you to the next task.
I dont know if its the best, but I think its worth the price. Especially the mine related room. It was a lot of fun.
My parents and I played Trapped Below and enjoyed the experience. The room was well decorated and incorporated some high-tech elements. After the second puzzle however, the room became very simple and we were surprised to find out its their second hardest room. I recommend this place if you are new to escape rooms or have young children.
We had a blast! They were very accommodating for our last minute group. They game masters were so much fun- their clues were funny! The staff were kind and considerate. So glad we went-- and we got out in under 60 minutes!
My husband and I had so much fun.We will definitely do another room.It is a great relationship, team building experience..Will try to convince my boss to do this for co.workers to do.
We did three of the escape rooms here. They were actually pretty great. More complex then just a series of locks they had... Other puzzles to solve which is great, trying not to give away to much.
Fun family time, but event is in only one room. Other escape rooms Ive been to at least have one (or two) rooms to navigate through besides the first room.
Amazing, fun experience! Semi new to escape rooms and have tried a few with this being the best one yet! We did Master of Illusion and finished with 7 minutes. The game master and staff made it fun, challenging but not impossible. We already booked a room to come back tomorrow. 10/10 would highly recommend this location if you’re looking for a a great escape room.
This was our first escape room! We solved the Pirate Escape with three minutes to spare! It was really great opportunity for building teamwork! We really enjoyed our time on the ship!
Had so much fun! My family and I played Trapped Below and had alot of fun. Tyra, Joy, Joseph were very helpful. Furthermore, there was a strange smell when I was approached by one of the employees. The overall setting was clean, but the employee’s musk was very strong and overwhelming. This dampen my experience. I will be visiting the other location soon.
This was a fun and exciting location, Jordan was fun and the manager that night he was great, we did 2 rooms and had a super fun time in both, the illusion rooms was more difficult than undead. Online states undead is more difficult. The staff was amazing, the only thing I didn’t like was that undead had way too many locks and not as many strategic puzzles. Definitely very close to a 5 star.
Loved the experience and the room setup was very nice, looked like the hold of a ship.Only issues we run into were issues with the magnets and sensors on some of the props not really effective and having to do some things two-three times in order to get the sensors to activate. The staff was super friendly and we had a great time. Will be back with other groups as it was well worth the cost and a lot of fun. Would have given all 5 stars if it wasnt for the difficulty with some of the props. Thanks for a great experience.
Great atmosphere and customer service. We did the Undead room. It was a lot of fun. It was our first time doing an Escape Room.. We will definitely be back!
This was fun. VERY entertaining with a group of highly intelligent people who like puzzles. We had trouble with one specific item which was required to completely the game. Three different people, over 10 minutes, struggled to open it - even when doing it *correctly*. However, afterwards, the manager (?) interviewed us regarding our experience and I am absolutely sure that one item will be completely addressed and fixed. Someone else in our group mentioned they had been to several of these escape type events elsewhere (NOT at this location) and had multiple issues. Some so bad, staff had to come in several times to help. So to them this wasnt too bad.I liked that the puzzles were linear. That is, you had to work as a group to figure out the puzzles and clues. One at a time. This also NOT an adult only experience. We had two young teenagers (under 16) who figured out many of the clues. Our experience also had agility as a requirement in the description on the website. I will say, there was one time it was helpful for a couple of people to get on their hands and knees (so dress appropriately). However, we did NOT have to climb over, on or crawl through anything. Being a middle-aged, balding fat dude was not a hindrance at all.Would I recommend this place for a group? Yes! At least 4, but more than eight would be confusing (IMHO).Would I return? YES! but to do one of the other rooms, of course.
Great experience
As an escape room enthusiast who has done over 200 games, Extreme Escapes is still a standout game in my mind, proving itself to be an excellent and enduring escape company. The two games I had done at this location, Trapped Below and Master of Illusion, were both excellent experiences worth seeing, the first being a uniquely themed, beautiful room set up in an authentically rustic mine. The effects were executed in such a manner that the player would be surprised by what happened while also being impressed, which was great. The other, a classic escape room executed elegantly, was a foreboding magicians lair with just enough ambiance to be slightly unsettling. The many puzzles in the game were not just clever, but fun and challenging. This game also has one of my favorite endings of all time, creating a truly magical experience unlike any other. The owner generously let us try the latter game for 50% of, as we were visiting from Massachusetts, and was absolutely wonderful. Its sadly rare to see a truly excellent company such as this one, and it is absolutely worth visiting if you are in the area.
I had an absolutely wonderful time! The crew was amazing. The room was super cool. Loved it!
The escape rooms are well constructed and have good props. Puzzles are challenging but not too difficult. My biggest issue with this place is that some of the puzzles in the rooms have to be triggered by a staff member who is viewing you remotely. Normally that would be fine if you were the only room they were watching, but that’s not the case. They have one person watching several rooms at once, and every time I have been here they have missed when we completed a task, so the puzzle we completed does not end up triggering the next event. This is very immersion breaking, and is something that you will not find at most escape room places.
Friendly staff and extremely fun... its fun for many different age groups.
This was lots of fun. The staff were really great. We were going to go one day and ended up getting stuck in traffic and so missed out but they let us go the next day. The escape room was super fun and my kids had a great time. We did not beat the game but I think we got fairly close. I would definitely go back
Loved the escape room it was awesome. However one of the staff members were supposed to email us our pictures we paid for and we received pictures of another family. We emailed them back and never recieved our pictures.
My daughter had a birthday party here. The staff is amazing and VERY accomodating to special requests. The kids had a good time with the escape room, but I think it was a little challenging for their age group (mostly 12 year olds). They still had a blast, and having a photo at the end to capture their time together was a nice touch.
First and only escape room experience. We did the master of illusion. It was a blast! Challenging, but not impossible. My group of 8 finished with 2 minutes to spare!
I don’t know what was going on, but our “trapped below” experience had many room malfunctions, at least 4. When asking about the malfunctions in the room, they told us to press the clue button if we wanted a clue. Was also told we did a step too early and we did not do this specifically because we were told not to. Also overheard game master talking about us in the background over the intercom. They were also argumentative and was blaming us. Was also asked multiple times where we were in the room, the game master should have known this at all times. Theming was great, but could not make up for this horrible experience.
We played Trapped Below after we originally scheduled for the Illusion room. As soon as we walked into the Illusion room, we noticed a Ouija board along the wall. As a practicing Christian, I didnt want to be in the same room as a Ouija board for an hour. The game master confirmed that you had to interact with the Ouija board to get out of the room. We rescheduled for Trapped Below...Trapped Below was great, there was only one clue that was extremely obscure. As someone who has 9 escape room games experience in 3 states....this was obscure. Everything else was a decent challenge for 4 people. We were busy the whole time. Its a bit pricey. Ive been to escape rooms in Nashville and Dayton, and they were only $25/person for just as an elaborate of an experience. Beer coozies are $5 each there, a bit high.Weve also attempted the Undead room. That one was fairly straightforward minus one, again, very obscure clue. Solving one of the first clues was a bit frustrating as it was dependent on when random light would appear that you couldnt anticipate.
Super fun team building activity. The staff was very helpful. DJ was assigned to our room and she did well.
An absolute blast!! First escape room our family has done. So much fun. The staff is super friendly . Definitely recommend this location to anybody in the San Antonio area looking for a great way to spend an hour or so. Thanks again to the staff for a great experience.
The rooms are premium. Staff is amazing. Its always a good time. The best rooms around.
Had fun with the family while in town, glad this is here.
We did the Master of Illusion rooms. Its a single room, well decorated with terrific ambience. However, we were unable to finish the puzzle as we spent too much time looking for a clue that the employees forgot to put back in the room, and a mechanical clue barely worked and consequently the trigger had to held in a specific position instead of just placed. Additionally, many of the combo locks are in need of replacement. There were two that didnt want to open until given a large amount of force, and two that the combos didnt click into place and hold themselves in position. It killed the fun for us running out of time so close to the end knowing that we would have finished had the staff properly fulfilled their duties and maintained the room. Great idea, but poor execution.
First time ever going to an escape room and it was such a great experience. We did the Cursed room and I had such a fun time. Jason, Kendall, Isaac, and Mira were great at attending us and assisting us in the game! Will definitely be returning and I definitely recommend. We had 60 minutes to escape, they give you clues and 3 hints. Also you cannot bring a phone in but they provide lockers and give you a key bracelet!
My boyfriend and I went for date night. It was so much fun. I would highly suggest it. You get a free drink, get to meet new people(if you dont fill up all the spots for the room), you get to see how good your teamwork skills are, and all the while trying to get out of the room.
Our guide was very sweet and nice. We did the Zombie but had wanted the pirates themed one. Zombie had over 19 locks only one room. A bit more plain and the sheer number of locks was overwhelming.
Great experience. Took a group of young ladies from 7th to college. Great themed room. Lots of fun. Staff was fatastic to work with.
Great place. It was clean. Staff was very friendly.
Fun place to go to and absolutely hilarious but also mentally exhausting
So much fun! My husband and I did The Undead together. It was just the two of us, it was our first escape room, and we got hung up at the beginning but that being said, we had a blast! We didnt finish it, but the staff was super helpful during it when we stupidly fumbled through the clues. It was challenging but not impossible, it was just a lot for the two of us to figure out alone in an hour. Still lots of fun, would do it again!
Called at 9:33 PM to try to reserve a room at 10:30 PM. Employee at told me to have group show up at 10:15 to sign waivers. Showed up at 10:10 and told nothing was available. Never asked to put a credit card down but would’ve had no problem doing so, never called back.
4 adults was pretty cozy in the space. I wouldnt recommend more than 4 or 5 if possible. We were under the impression that you couldnt bring in cell phones but that is not the case. Its a good thing one of our team members had his phone, otherwise we would not have been able to read the clues. We didnt escape in time but we had a good time. There are restaurants next door so if you want to eat and drink before or after its within walking distance. I would recommend trying this at least once.
Im surprised the asked that we write them a review on yelp or whatever. I dont have an account there so Ill use Google. We pre-registered for the Illusion room, but they said there were technical issues and that the clock and speaker wouldnt be working. So we ended up doing the zombie outbreak one. It smelled horrible. Turns out it was due to some scent pack they had in the room on top one of the high shelves. They said we didnt have to reach high up for any clues. I wish my sister had listened and didnt grab the item. I still havent gotten the smells off my hands. We did the picture at the end since we made it through. But they told us the camera for the green screen wasnt working and that we would have to use our own cameras. This disappointed me since we didnt get to have our picture up on the wall. The room was challenging, but the 4 of us got through it. This review is strictly for my experience there.1. I was disappointed we couldnt do the room we planned on2. The smell was gross3. The camera for the green screen wasnt functional4. At least it was a challengeI would recommend asking if anything isnt working prior to paying. Of course they wait until after you pay to tell you everything that is wrong. $30 per person for this is a bit of a rip-off.
We had a team- building event there. It was fun, puzzle was a bit difficult. One of the puzzles didnt work and they finally had to come in and manually open the box to get us the next clue.
We did not book a room, so we did a walk-in, and it was good. Since we were somewhat short on time, we picked the most quickly available room. It was very well done and it had a very good format. It was pricy though, but it was overall good if it’s worth the price to you.
It was the first time for my girls and I & they made us feel welcome and it was sooo exciting!
2nd time there, didnt concur the escape this time but had plenty of fun trying to.
I visited this location over a year ago. Its a fun place to get your heart racing and mind going! The introduction to the theme wasnt as impressive as another escape room that was downtown, and the rules were rather vague when explained to the group. You only get two hints (3 if you check in on Yelp) which was perfect for the game. It was pretty challenging, but very fun! Finished with 2 minutes left; talking about an adrenaline rush! The workers here at the time were nice and welcoming.
Best time ever!!! Great location and amazing customer service. The staff makes it fun!!
Had a blast here - staff was great and the room was well decorated and we really enjoyed the experience. We did the Mutiny room and would go back for the others!
Very fun and challenging for everyone. Would definitely go back again
The escape room was fantastic, the puzzles were cool, the environment and setting was fantastic I would recommend this place if you like to solve puzzles
Great quality and extremely emersive!
This was my first time doing an escape room and for the most part I was impressed. 4 stars just because some of the props wee in a state of ill repair to the point of being close to impossible to work with. The staff was great and very courteous. Overall a good experience.
Had a great time
What a great first experience doing an escape room! From the moment I walked in I was hit with such kindness and professionalism from the employees, specifically Matthew Villanueva. He was very helpful and made everything possible with the greatest attitude. Good work ethics attracts customers, ill be coming back for sure! A very cool place to be on the weekends when vendors are there. The rooms are fun and full of excitement and definitely arent easy. I definitely got my moneys worth and plan on coming back soon!
Awesome time with Tyra, Nikki, and Mike! Thank you very much!!!
Great fun, nice props that pop open. Feels pretty immersive.
Had fun! Friendly staff and a great team builder.
Had a lot of fun, really professionally done escape rooms.
Had lots of fun.was definitely difficult but we really enjoy the challenge
Super fun and challenging, but we made it! :)
Wonderful escape room experience. Weve do e a couple of different escape rooms and this is one of our favorites. Would recommend to anyone that likes these types of activities.
I LOVED the magician room. It was challenging and had a great story!
Great experience, first class staff, high quality all around!
We had a blast and the person that worked here was awesome
Based on reviews, I was a bit disappointed. To be fair, Ive played many games across the country. The room designs were great, but the puzzles were lacking and there were just too many locks. There were a couple cool elements in each room, but after that it was find a key, open a box, to that has a key, to open a box, to get a key. We played the Mutiny and Undead rooms. You can tell the rooms are getting worn and repairs are not being made which made it difficult to solve puzzles when you cant read what is written because its been rubbed off. Also, not impressed with the game hosts. They were friendly getting into the room, but didn like that when we asked for clues, we had to tell them where we were at in the game. Arent you watching? Seems lazy and a waste of my time. The rooms might be fun for beginners, but I dont feel the need to return to the other games.
Definitely recommend going with friends!
