It was a beautiful day to go to the park. Most patrons were respectful and more masks especially when coming in contact with others. At some points on the trail in the Japanese tea garden it was hard to keep more than 6 ft apart from other people. It was fairly crowded on a Sunday morning but if you are careful we are able to keep a safe distance and enjoy the beautiful scenery.

Still a good spot for exercise.HOWEVER, If you go in the evening, after the sun sets, take a flashlight. The walkways/steps are not very visible, and are not all level, so you might fall if you dont see or miss a step.Very dark and not well lit.During the day, perfect lighting and you can see your footing. These gardens have been cleaned up and manicured, so you can take some great photographs here.Come early and enjoy the scenery.(Take a look at the darkness in the pictures.)

San Antonio is blessed to have such a natural fortress within its city limits. Lots of nature. Birds, Ducks, Geese, waterways, bridges, trails to exercise the dogs or to stroll, walk, jog ... Many picnic areas; very close to Broadway and all the attractions included there. Visit a bookstore ( Half Price Books ) or pick up a fine Cigar ( Finck ) trust me, there is something for everyone. Get up, get out, stretch it out and support our local businesses.

Nice place to get away for a day. We walked a couple of miles, road the train and visited the Japanese tea garden. The garden is beautiful and the food at the Jingu House was delicious. All the staff members we interacted with were very friendly. The fact that parking and entrance is free makes it great for everyone to check it out. Its a great place to take lots of pictures!

Wonderful park thats right on the river and has plenty of trees. Plenty of sidewalks if youre wanting to get some steps in. Or, if youre looking for a place to eat outside, there are plenty of tables that also have a bbq pit (some on a pedestal and some of them are on the ground). There is also a small train that drives around the park that kids and adults can ride.

An interesting concept except for all the evidence of too much human presence, such as trash everywhere and ugly graffiti. In order to use the bathroom inside, in bsmt, one must make a purchase in cafe/gift shop, which is pricey. However, there is a PortaPotty in the parking lot before entering.

The Japanese Tea Garden was an absolute gem! It is a little smaller than expected but its amazing and so beautiful. People who are aiming to visit the garden on the weekends, need to be aware that the Garden parking might be limited and you will have to wait in line for the parking at the zoo and walk over to the garden, which can take up to 45 mins. Easily.

We loved taking our 1 year old through the Brakenridge park! If you go during sunset the views of the sun between the trees gives a great relaxing ambiance. The paths are mostly paved throughout the wooded areas, and even have benches if you would like to picnic by the river. An added plus was the trash recipticals were plenty even throughout the woods.
