The overall experience was great. A good time was had by all. It was clean and safety precautions were in place. I have to give a special atta boy to the Assistant Manager Isaac. His customer service skills were outstanding. He had to put his critical thinking skills to use and exceeded our expectations all the while staying cool calm and collected. He went above and beyond. I appreciate him and his professionalism. 5 out of 5 for sure!!!!

Was a really great experience! They had complimentary drinks like water, sodas, beer and wine! The room was really well done! It was challenging but loads of fun! I plan on going back with my friends!

Lots of fun. Right now with Covid restrictions is an awesome time to go because it is just your small group. They have multiple rooms for different ages and difficulties. Staff was very friendly, Ill be coming back to try out an easier room with my kids.

I LOVE escape rooms! My friends know me as the girl who wont stop asking everyone to go do an escape room. Before quarantine, Id try to do at least one in every city I visited. Ive done four dozen or so rooms in total, all over the US (including at least one at almost every business in San Antonio and Austin). For the most part, I have loved my experiences and completely understand when things dont go to plan. My favourite room to date had some puzzle issues (i.e. missing pieces the GM forgot to put back in the room), but we still had an amazing time!I begin my review with that so when I write Do NOT waste your money on the Encounter room!, you understand that I say that with some experience. I have done every room at Extreme Escapes Colonnade location as well as the Other Side and Encounter at the Stone Oak location. My experience in Encounter (almost every puzzle was broken, non-functioning, illogical, or lazy with no explanation given after by the GM when we tried to politely point it out) has made me never want to patronize this business again. I will refrain from giving specifics on puzzles as I dont want to violate the rooms integrity, but trust me when I say it was, by far, the absolute WORST escape room experience I have EVER had (and there have been quite a few!). As an ardent escape room enthusiast, I cannot recommend this business. Instead, I warn my escape room-loving friends to avoid this location and that room in particular.Edit: Just to add more context, after we failed the room because we wasted major time on two broken puzzles, the GM came in. When we asked about the two puzzles, we were told we had been doing them wrong. Trying to give them the benefit of the doubt, we asked the staff if they could show us how to do them correctly. When the staff tried, they couldnt complete the puzzles either because they were, as we said, broken. We were then sent off without an apology for the wasted time/money or an explanation.

Was kind of a poor experience...... the room was not working. The button for clues was not working. The picture we got is blurry and horribly done. To make matters worse the employee just seemed unapologetic and just like he did not seem to care.... all in all a bad experience at this location..... prob will not be back....

I’m sure at one point this was a cool time but not so much anymore. We were trying to figure things out but they kept giving us unwanted clues over the PA. Lots of things did not work basically to the point of one of the staff members coming in at the end of the trial telling us that we completed the mission. Also they took our picture and printed it out and said it would be $7. What do they do with the photos if people reject? That’s weird. Wouldn’t go back nor recommend.

It was okay, but they gave us clues throughout the whole thing that we didnt ask for. So it wasnt very challenging. We were the last ones of the day, so probably just wanted us to get out there fast so they could get home.

We did the Cursed room. There were eight of us. Very fun! A little spooky but not too much. And I get scared easily, so it was totally okay. Attendant is always reachable and you can exit the room at any time. Took us about 45 minutes to solve unbreak the curse.

We recently had a work christmas party at this location, we all had a really great time, definitely a team building experience. The rooms were HIGHLY interactive, great design, and fun puzzles. I cannot thank Liz, Isaac, Rhett, and Gretchen enough for the great time and experience for our Christmas party. Good work and thank you again for everything you did for us.

We had a blast! It was challenging but not too hard!. My 11 year old daughter and her friends had so much fun we booked another room for the next day!!

We did the lost tomb and won. It was challenging enough to take most of the time up. The fact that things needed to be set exactly perfect in the spot was a little frustrating but we over came!

Awesome experience. Gabe was an excellent host as we arrived early and he got us in another escape room immediately before our scheduled one, which made us having done 2 rooms at this location. Super professional rooms, amazing staff, can’t say enough about this location!

If you havent tried an Escape Room adventure yet, you are in for a thrill at Extreme Escape Stone Oak. They provide a high experience and loads of fun. Our game host Savanah was amazing and knew exactly when to provide that need clue to help you escape. Definitely will be back to try some another room.

I did an escape room by myself with the help of my host and the team and I loved it!! Ive never done one alone before and was super concerned with if it would be worth it. But I made it out and it was awesome to be able to do it by myself. I did Other Side

Came here with my company for a team outing. It was great fun. The staff is super friendly and the rooms are challenging. I will be visiting again.

Son wanted to come here for his birthday, had a great time, staff here extra friendly.

Really enjoyed the theme and the room, but there were some elements that didnt work properly which slowed us down considerably. When I tried to tell the staff that some elements didnt work right, I was brushed off with yeah, Im sure its fine. It cost us several minutes and a hint to find out we had it right the first time because their rope didnt respond unless pulled with most of my body weight.

We were not aware that if we booked a room that we would be in with A group of teenage boys. We were very disappointed as we live out of town. Will not go here again as it was apparent the comfort of the guest are not taken into consideration.

Great rooms, staff is very nice. Only issue I have is no free pictures of groups when they escape, so if that’s my only complaint, they’re doing pretty well.

Best way to spend an hour. Survived my first escape room with time to spare (13 minutes). It was so fun! If you love to solve puzzles and like to do it with some of your closest buddies/family. This is for you. My friend and I shared lots of laughs and enjoyed the challenge. Will definately do it again. Shout out to Becca, Courtney, Isacc, and Vincent for making our experience a great one!! Me and 4 friends did The Lost Temple with 3 others. The 8 man room was a lot of fun and had plenty of great puzzles to make you think outside the box! If we ever come back, Ill be visiting another one of their locations to try their other puzzles!

My husband and I did The Lost Temple room. The room was very well themed & decorated, I definitely give it a 5/5 for immersive experience. However many elements of the puzzles were worn and hard to read/operate. There was at least one puzzle that we got right the first time, but didnt pull one element hard enough & proceeded to waste about 10 mins figuring out what was going on.They also explained to us that we would have 3 clues & told us how to ask for them but proceeded to give us unsolicited hints and step-by-step instructions on the screen, which took a lot of the fun out of the experience! We only had the chance to figure out a couple of the puzzles on our own.I did like that all but 2 of the puzzles involved objects and thinking outside of the box. My husband and I finished with a few minutes to spare, but there wasnt much sense of accomplishment.I will say that weve visited their sister location at The Colonnade & had a great experience. Only downside: they make you pay for pictures there. The Stone Oak location does not (or at least not for emailing one to you).

We got lost in the tomb. Place is a great time highly recommended. Maybe next time.....

Had a good experience here overall - although had some mild issue with some props in alien room. Rooms are a lot more themed with more props and technology than most escape rooms I have tried. Have some locks and keys, but definitely a lot more than just locks and keys. Had a lot of fun and would definitely go back. Recommend bringing a small flashlight, as rooms can be dark. Cursed was a good room and not as scary as I would have expected.

Extreme Escapes has established itself to be an excellent company worthy of visiting, and some of their more scenically impressive games take place at this location. Encounter is the standout, including an impressive amount of animatronic work and brilliant set and puzzle design, channeling a futuristic vibe in works such as Alien or 2001. Cursed is a great beginner game in an ominous, detailed set, eerie yet not scary, and perfect for those new to the genre. The Lost Tomb, being the most scenically detailed, is beautiful and technologically advanced, consistently surprising us with secret passages and or inventive interactions. While the Other Side was confusing and scenically less impressive, I would expect that with a bit more love it will be just as brilliant as the other three games. In addition, due to our limited time being in San Antonio, we were given Encounter for 50% off, a gesture appreciated greatly. This company is truly something to behold.

It was a lot of fun. Even having to go with another group since there were only 2 of us, turned out great! This was the best escape room experience Ive ever had.

We did this as a work team building event. Awesome choice! We started out slow but once we got the first clue, everyone jumped in and we finished in time. You can tell they put alot of work into the theme, design, and setup. The clues were challenging but not impossible. Will definitely come back. Thanks Stone Oak team for a great event.

Stranger Things themed escape room. My daughter and I loved it. Staff was great.

Ive been to 2 extreme escape locations and both times something was missing to complete the room. The first was a key was locked in by the lock it opened and the second time it was a clue that wasnt accessible. When we asked about it the person just said oh somethings supposed to be there. Also when were leaving the room we were completely ignored. The rooms are designed great and the atmosphere in the rooms are great. But the missing clues and bad customer service hurt it.

I had a great experience here. This was my first escape room. My group of four ended up completing the challenge with ten minutes to spare. Very interactive. A tip would be to not overthink anything. You will get stuck some places, but the people are very helpful without giving away anything. I highly recommend. I am obsessed with escape rooms now.

It was more fun with more difficult clues and activities than other places Ive been, but some of the things in our room didnt work very well and set us back. We had to hold extra things down because of a bad electrical connection and use clues to confirm answers for sticky locks. We also had a group of 7 for a team-building exercise, but so many clues involved tiny locks that a smaller group would be more effective. Fun way to encourage teamwork for the workplace.

The rooms are really well themed. Only issue was they were too easy or had broken puzzles.

This was so much fun! Didnt know what to expect when we decide to try something new. The host greets us upon walking in. In our case it was Savanah. She was amazing and was very informative. She put my girlfriend at ease about the experience. The decoration, lighting, special effects is ag a Disney category. Very impressed over all on the whole experience. Again cant say enough the experience and the whole staff Savanah, Kate, Beca & Liz. Highly recommend and will be back to try the other rooms. Oh yeah, we did Escape ( with under 2mins left)

Great staff and challenging rooms! I dont like that they charge for pictures after completing the room, but that doesnt damper the great experience of going through the rooms. Much fun! Would go again.

Great fun place! The rooms are really well put together and there is so much detail! The room monitor person made our group do some weird things to receive some free hints, which distracted from the “escape room” vibe, but it also left us with something to talk about at the end. Only other thing is that I wished they had given a better description about the escape room personally instead of through the video. The video was low quality and not loud enough for everyone to hear.

Awesome activity! We did this as part of a team building exercise and we had a great time. The hosts and attendants are friendly and helpful. It was frustrating at times, but never difficult. Frustrating because after the fact, you realize all the clues are obvious if only you pay attention! Work together and you will get through it with plenty of time!

Went as part as a team building activity for work. The room I went into was very fun and I enjoyed being there and solving the puzzles.

My niece and I did the Lost Tomb on Friday the 13th!!! The experience was amazing and all the staff were very nice. Our Game masters were very informative when giving us our clues. There was just us two so it took a bit in the beginning to get the hang of it but we actually finished it!!!! Thank you Becca, Courtney and Kendall strong work!!!

This place was awesome! The quality of the rooms was top notch and the puzzles were challenging. 10/10 would do again. Staff was friendly and helpful when we got stuck. Facility was clean and free lockers was a plus.

We had a great time here! There ended up being a technical issue with our room but management was amazing. Refunded our money, let us do a room later that night based on availability, and a chance to go again on them for the issue. They went above and beyond to make it right for us and we were blown away by their kindness. The rooms themselves have amazing production value, we did get out with time to spare but didn’t break any records. Our room was the other side, it wasn’t scary but very suspenseful and on the edge the whole time! I heard lots of frightening screams in the room next to us for the Cursed room so I wouldn’t advise doing that one if your not into scary stuff like me! Maybe stick with alien encounter or Lost temple for the less scary rooms

Second time at this location and have thoroughly enjoyed it each time. Our game master, Becca, was awesome at explaining the rules and guiding us through the room. Will definitely be back and would recommend to all my friends and family!

Came here for a team building exercise. Was a little apprehensive that we had too many people but everyone was engaged throughout and added to figuring out the clues. Liz and Isaac were great.

My wife and I did the cursed room for her birthday and we had a blast! The puzzles were semi-challenging & super fun to accomplish! And if you get stumped they give you Suttle clues without giving away the answer allowing you to still feel Like you solved it which was great. One thing I can say is go with a smaller group 2-4 people It was just us two and the difficulty/time to solve the puzzles was perfect I can’t see more than 4 trying to solve everything it wouldnt be much of a challenge. Overall we loved it and We will definately be attempting the other rooms in the future!

Fun and very friendly staff!

We enjoyed our experience here, and the puzzles were engaging, and at times, pretty thrilling! My only gripe is that it was a bit hot in the room, but I understand in the late spring, its bound to get hot at a second floor establishment.

Really awful experience. Our room was completely broken. They had to override half of the props and they werent listening to us when we asked for help. Really awful maintenance and worse customer service.

It was a excited experience, my first time and I really enjoyed it, will do it again.

The experience was good. The machine we were in broke n they had to fix it so we do not really know if we had aolved it or not. Only means we have to come back

We did a corporate team building here. Everyone had a blast! It was something most of us had never done and really enjoyed! We’ll be back.

Loved it, such an exciting, challenging and fun experience! Took a group of 13 year olds and they had a great time, the puzzle master was helpful and made sure they had an awesome experience.

Really awesome place to go with family and have fun. The escape rooms are neat and the clues flow into the next.

Really fun concept but there were issues with the actual puzzles. Two things slowed the team down considerable. One of the pegs got stuck, and while the staff was quick to fix our problem, we didnt get any time back. Also, the clues in sharpie had been rubbed off and we couldnt read them. Fun but highly irritating due to poor design.

The decor is really cool to get you into the theme of the room. I was disappointed with the puzzles as you didnt need to FIND anything to figure out what the puzzles might be, you just solve the puzzles that are all out there. This was only my 2nd escape room.
