We went to find research on a historical figure to Utah. The staff were very helpful in explaining how to find specific areas in research on the site and computer. A staff member also helped us make Xerox copies. It was a very pleasant experience and we appreciate all the help we received.
They claim copyright in everything in their collections, even items that are clearly in the public domain. Instead of trying to increase accessibility, they want a monopoly. They should do some investigation into the approach taken by the New York Public Library and the Library of Congress with respect to old photos.
Incredible repository of state and local records in a historic train depot. Staff members were initially somewhat reticent but proved helpful after I explained the parameters of my research.
Go in and check out the local art exhibits from the areas schools.
