I am a local wedding DJ (uNiteLife DJ Services) and I performed for a wedding here in 2018. The venue and location is absolutely gorgeous! The ceremony was held at the Meditation Chapel just across from the main building. It is surrounded by beautiful trees and scenery that really added to the atmosphere. Inside, a beautiful reception hall along with rooms for the entire bridal party to get ready. The entire staff was on point with everything they did, especially the cocktail and dinner hour. Management was delightful to work with and they made sure every detail was taken care of for both the newlyweds and myself as a vendor. All in all, I loved working here as a wedding DJ and I look forward to serving more of their future event clients! If you have an event or wedding coming up, definitely check them out!

The venue was beautiful and was the perfect size to accommodate my guests. The staff was so friendly and easy to work with. They went the extra mile to ensure that my day would be everything that I wanted. The grounds and building were so photogenic and were the perfect backdrop for our event. Would highly recommend this venue to anyone needing a picturesque location for an event.

My wife and I had such an amazing experince with the team at Memorial House! We saw right away they are such a safe space for all kinds of couples looking to plan their special day. The team was so responsive and receptive to our needs. Dawn was able to explain everything to us clearly, in a timely manner and help us achieve all of our dreams for our special day. She helped us pull it all off in just 14 days. The venue was beautiful and the team keeps the inside and out in such great condition. The flowers, stone, and house were a great backdrop; there is no bad angle for photograpy in the house. We will be forever grateful for the memories we can keep coming back to for years to come.

We had our wedding in July at memorial house on the south lawn. Dawn and all of the staff were so flexible and helpful! We had to change our wedding date 3 times due to covid and they were so wonderful! Everything turned out beautifully! They were very aware of keeping everyone safe with covid precautions and also very kind!

Great venue and a great price (they even included a set amount of linens as part of the package.) The venue was perfect for my wedding of 170 guests, and the park made for some incredible pictures. On top of that they were very accommodating with whatever I needed for my big day. Elizabeth was quick to reply to every question and solutions to every problem. She even handled my chaotic family with finesse. Highly recommend this venue.

We hosted our wedding dinner at the Memorial House last week and were absolutely blown away by how beautiful everything was! The staff was marvelous, flexible, and accommodating and we could not be happier with how our event turned out, right down to the last detail! Our event was comfortable and cozy, and the space and set up were perfect!

We just finished hosting our daughter’s wedding and reception at the Memorial House. The building and outside access was perfect for a late Spring wedding with unpredictable weather—we happened to luck out and have beautiful temperatures. We also had the piece of mind that we could enjoy the space inside if the weather had been rainy. The staff was helpful in planning and executing with rearranging the room (after the ceremony) —we appreciated their pleasant responsive help. The whole experience ended up being stress free—which meant we could focus on the people celebrating with us that day! It’s perfect to have a venue where guests can park right in front!

Memorial House in Memory Grove ended up being the dream venue we didn’t know we wanted or needed. It was perfection! It has all the charm you would want with a more vintage styled venue with the natural scenery of Memory Grove as the backdrop. Dawn was a dream to work with in getting all the details nailed down perfectly! We were filled with continual questions and requests and Dawn handled each quickly and thoroughly. The venue included a lot more for a smaller price tag than most venues and it didn’t come at the expense of quality or execution. Staff was on hand the day of our wedding and made the extra touches absolutely perfect! We can’t say enough about how happy we are with the way our wedding went at this amazing venue! We also want to say the staff and venue overall were amazingly inclusive and supportive of our LGBTQ+ community. It was an honor to have our wedding at a venue that made our day feel special just like any other wedding! Thank you for being inclusive!!

A beautiful location for events, parties or wedding receptions. Located in Memory Grove, there is no parking in area (it is gated, with an attendant there to let only authorized vehicles in), so you would need to park down the street or above the venue on the hill by the State Capitol Building and walk down. The venue would be better in the summer, there are really pretty french doors that open up to the patio which can have additional seating. I attending a wedding here and it was especially nice so the kids could play across the street in the park!

Beautiful venue, I enjoyed my wedding! I would recommend being wary of the hosts and management. We had agreed upon certain timelines for setup and access to the building. Our initial host had all of our wedding details ironed out and she left before our wedding. The manager filled in and was out of the office the days leading up to and during our wedding. We weren’t able to set up or access the building as we had planned and anticipated. We scrambled the day of the wedding. We stayed behind 2 hours past our wedding to clean up and put away tables, chairs, linens, on top of the cleaning which was A LOT. We were still charged $200 from our security deposit. Apparently, the hosts felt they did extra. I am still confused what they felt they did above and beyond their roles that equaled $200 as my family and I helped them by putting away tables, chairs, and linens. I didn’t appreciate the lack of honesty on their part. Ultimately, the manager did nothing to remedy this and instead let me know she could have charged the entire deposit. Thanks for the generosity haha.

I had my reception here in May and it was perfect in every way. It was everything I had hoped for for my special day. The venue is beautiful and we got some great photos there as well as out in the park. I highly recommend this venue. My husband and I got married in the Salt Lake Temple and it took us maybe 5 minutes to drive to the Memorial House from the temple. Its a great quiet location in downtown Salt Lake, you dont even feel like you are in the city. We chose Elizabeths catering from the list we were given and were very pleased with them. Everyone loved the food and it was presented so well. The Memorial House was just my style and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet quaint reception venue in a quiet grove of Salt Lake City! Jada helped us and she was great.

Went here for a beautiful wedding and reception. Beautiful location, nestled on the hill. Theres parking along the street that worked great for the whole crowd of 100. I dont know if it always would... But if you come, know that the road does continue up for quite a way for parking (if youre there for an event).

Our initial meeting with Memorial House was as easy as could be but then halfway through the year of our engagement they changed their manager. After Katie was no longer handling our wedding, everything was disorganized, uniformed, and gave me genuine concerns on our wedding day. The first impression we got of the new manager was an informal email asking us for money. Following that email was even more frustration due to lack of communication on their part. The rehearsal lunch we had planned had been double booked and we had to rearrange multiple things due to their oversite. The venue itself was beautiful and it was still a lovely day but the new manager as of late 2018 was very impersonable and short with my family and friends trying to help clean up, and didnt seem to enjoy her job. She did not make me feel confident in the venues abilities to provide exactly what I needed.

I love, love, love coming here with my dog. It is absolutely my favorite dog park in the valley. It is technically not off leash, but that has really not stopped anyone. The dogs are mostly good, and the people are generally good. I have no major things to say about this at all. I love it and I love the culture.

Ive been to several events at the Memorial House... a work party and a wedding reception. The pros are: its a nice place, historic and in a beautiful setting. Id say the biggest drawbacks are the parking situation, the setup for good sound is bad and the parking situation is deplorable. Street parking all the way down the block... difficult to access up narrow streets...

We recently had an August reception at the Memorial House with around 200 people coming and going. We had ordered shepherds hooks with lanterns that we never saw. The recommended caterer was an hour late with the dinner and everyone was dying of thirst because the caterers did not arrive with the drinks/glasses until an hour after they were suppose to be seated and eating. The very worst part of all was when we got there to set up it was steaming hot and we were assured there would be A/C at the time of signing the contract and paying 1/2 the fee. Once the house filled up with guests it was unbearable during the dancing & toasts. We had several elderly people there who could not take it. As the mother of the bride, I was red faced and sweat dripping the entire time and could not leave for obvious reasons though Id like to have left for a place that was more comfortable. Oddly enough, the bathroom and brides room A/C was operational. People left who could not handle it any longer though we had a great DJ team and fun program arranged. During the night we told the two girls who worked for the house it was so, so hot to which they replied, just a few nights ago there were 300 guests and it was perfectly cool. Later, toward the end of the night, as most had left, my husband discovered a 2nd Au0010/C switch that read 88 degrees and was on OFF mode. He pushed the button and heard the A/C click on. What??! We made the most of what we had and our friends/family were very gracious. A friend provided homemade paper fans brought in at the 11th hour, but it was hardly enough to give comfort that shouldve been attached to the $2,500 plus price tag we were charged for a Wednesday evening. After 9:30 pm, our family & friends spent much of the hour prior to 10 pm helping the two girls clean up the hall, rooms & kitchen and these two ladies were very grateful for our help as well as pleasant. They are good employees but were not proactive in solving our biggest issue. We dont understand how something so important as A/C could be overlooked on an August evening event that was over 90 degrees outside. One vent was spitting out cool air so we assumed that was as good as it was going to get. In retrospect, for a summer event, this place is way over priced in my opinion considering the quality of the A/C and the aformentioned other details. It was charming on a walk, in the photos of my inlaws who had their reception here 57 years ago and in a photo pamphlet, however, in reality, in my experience, it was a completely embarrassing memory.
