It was a fun place to enjoy a spooky night! From start to finish was about 30 minutes. The employees did a good job of trying to keep the different groups physically distanced. I would definitely go again if given the chance. Only disappointing part was that to buy the tickets online there are fees which make it the same price as buy them there, although it was nice to already have the ticket so we couldnt chicken out. It also made the process of check in smoother.

Super fun! Im really glad they did the time slots for tickets. Not only was it good for social distancing, but it made the lines much more efficient and we werent waiting as long. The haunting was an awesome length, we spent at least 30 minutes in it, it had lots of themes and fun to be scared! You definitely get warm from being inside and the adrenaline, but worth it!

Lots of fun. The VIP pass was so worth it’s not to wait in the long line. There was so much detail, the actors were great and all the animatronics were amazing. My only complaint is that they need to work on timing of groups. I paid good money for this I’m willing to wait. We were too close to the group in front of us and behind us, so we had to wait a couple of times to try and make some distance so we didn’t see the spooky parts too soon. It’s not only disappointing for us but hard on the actors as well. We managed to get some distance the second half of the house and had a blast.

This is a great spot. Took us 50 minutes to get through it. Dozens of bits, everything is well designed. Actors are fantastic. Left side is a bit more scary than the right if you’re traveling side by side (a hint for those in pairs!)All in all just a fun and fantastic experience from the moment you walk on the premises to when you leave.Thank you!!!

It was really fun. I was pleasantly surprised by how long it took to get through. I think the weekend prices are a little extraneous but the weekday price was totally worth it. The cast members that really got into it made a huge difference. Multiple times I wanted to turn around and whisper good job! because they scared me so well.

Its not as scary as they say it is, but its still a great experience. there was a few bad thing, first the people in front of me where really slow so I feel like they should try too keep us apart because if Im right behind them then the scares arent as frightening. 2nd is they should have had more mazes because when walking in a straight line kinda ruins it. But still a good house, I would recommend it to someone who wants a quick 30 min haunted house.

This was my second time going in a few years, I remembered that it had fantastic sets and that I enjoyed it, but even my memories didnt do it justice, the sets are FANTASTICALLY built, the scares are unique every time and very fun, the actors are terrific at giving you different scares and yet giving each character so that it doesnt get monotonous, the animatronics and other electrics add quite a great feel to the whole experience. I dont know why I stopped going but Im going to start going more often to this! See you guys next year!!

The haunted house was way better than I had expected. I didnt think it would be that big, but it was huge! Way over priced. Paid $34 and was only in there for 20 minutes. I went to the Haunted Forest a few weeks before, it was only $25 and it was an hour long!! Anyway, they made us go through super close to the group in front of us so we tried to slow down so they would get further ahead of us but then we got in trouble and were told that we were holding everyone else up. So then we had to walk right behind the group in front of us so we didn’t get any of the scares. It sucked. Such a lame experience. Especially for the price. Such a rip off.

We went here a few weeks ago and while the staff tried to stagger groups of patrons they were pretty short gaps so we ran into the group ahead of us several times and the group behind us caught up to us as well. I was let down by the haunt this season...As amazing as the sets, the electronics and the layout were, it did not make up for the lackluster performance of the cast. The actors would pop out and do repetitive scares with no room for recovery in between patrons, and I even had one step out and say boo ! There was no spirit! No life to any of the characters at all! On the very rare occasion I would see an actor in character they were quick to break it.. The CLOWNS of all things couldnt even be bothered to try and put life into their performance. My expectations were not as high this year due to the virus outbreak, but how am I supposed to enjoy the haunt when the actors dont even want to be there... i was let down in the long run.

Really well put together! Lots of different, creative elements, from all sorts of crazy terrain moments, to sophisticated animatronics. And the actors really steal the show! Loved the guys running on the walls! The only problem was that I wished theyd give it more time before sending more people in. We got stuck behind a group that ended with then getting all the fresh haunts and us kinda just picking them up at the tail end. Definitely still worth the spook!

Review №36

It was the best this year, I miss the cryptkeeper but even though he is gone now they made it better than ever before, a little bit expensive but thats still a good place to bring a small group of friends to, if you go in a group of 7 or more people you will be split up so keep that in mind, And there was only one more problem which was that you are so close to the other groups that the actor wont scare you cause they think that you already saw them while behind the other group so if you could wait longer before letting groups go and I would wait 15 seconds between groups but it was so fun and I had a great time so other than the few flaws this place was very good and I plan on coming back at least once every year.

A decent haunted house. Plenty of good jump scares as well as fun room designs and some animatronics! The only reason I wouldn’t give more stars is due to the fact that the did a terrible job spacing the groups out! I tried to walk slower so we didn’t see scares in front of us. However, if I did this three other groups would get piled up behind us.

Impressed by their Covid-19 safety measures. Honestly, its the way you want to experience a haunted house. They stagger their patrons for Social Distancing - no group is in the same room/scene at the same time. Masks are a requirement.

Cl
Review №41

Considering the limitations and extra Safety Precautions, due to the Pandemic, Nightmare on 13th does a really good job of combining Safety with Scary. The Social Distancing they maintain between the groups of Guests, not only helps protect their Guests, but it also adds to the suspense as it gives a better illusion of being alone and cut off from potential assistance while roaming the dark and twisted halls of the Haunted House. The Artists also do an amazing job of incorporating Face Masks into the Creature designs, often painting them to appear as the Characters Face itself, which in many cases makes it impossible to tell, once combined with the Atmosphere and dim to no Lighting in many of the Rooms. I wont reveal any Spoilers, but there are a couple Rooms that are REALLY! disorienting, which definitely raise your Anxiety level and add to the Excitement of the Experience. So do yourself a favor and go enjoy a (Safe) Fright at Nightmare on 13th before it closes for the year.

My husband and I paid to skip the line. $35.00 on a weekday. Don’t spend your money, total waste. You only really skip one line and than still have to wait. We were in and out of the haunted house in 20 minutes. The place only had about 10 actors. We went to fear Factory the weekend before and what a difference. Save your money for Fear Factory, a million times better. We received the Royal treatment at Fear Factory, were given a free gift and it took us about an hour in the haunted house at FF. Sorry Nightmare on 13th. You have some serious work to do. Such a disappointment

So, to be honest theres a large amount of teenagers that will be in front and back of you if you want to go at any popular time I love haunted houses, you kinda have to tell them to back off. They WILL NOT keep there distance. I love haunted houses, but even though you can usually expect people to not keep there distance, the same thing happens here, we literally had 2 groups pass in front of us, not that we were impatient, just so we could experience the house as could be expected. (But it still didnt happen, cuz we had to CONSTANTLY make sure the people behind us either stayed away, or we had the people in front of us experience things before us cuz we were trying to keep the distance of people behind us)

The haunted house itself was awesome. However having everyone wait an hour and a half just to get into line to wait all over again was ridiculous. I understand it was necessary to take precautions for corona virus, but you could have let people know in the text the estimated wait time. Or you could have emailed everyone and said hey, it’s an hour and a half wait, check in before you leave the house. And most of the staff were awesome, but there was one woman just sitting on a stool near the fast pass entrance that was completely unwilling to be helpful or give any information as to how much longer we had to wait. A couple of the staff told us there was a queue and she could radio and check our place for us but she wouldn’t do it.Speaking of staff, once we were inside the event, the experience was continually interrupted by staff walking through the hallways and using hidden doors trying to get to other places and talking to us normally, totally out of character. And then there were groups of staff just standing in the hallways talking to each other in a group blocking our way. Unfortunately it detracted from the experience greatly. And then the Xscream event got canceled. We were refunded $33 for that. It really seems like since it was a double feature we should have at least received 50% off.Last year was decidedly better.

So if you are easily thrilled, it will be worth your time and money. If not, I hear there are better in the vicinity. I intend to try them myself. It is a noncontact, multi-level facility. Be prepared to stand in line for the majority of the time youre there. They do require masks, and the actors are magnificent for wha lt theyre allowed to do. Nightmare on 13th performed just as well as they always do every year. Amazing set design as usual with brilliant in-depth detail in every room you enter.Well placed and smartly used animatronics, actor controlled speakers for scares(that also save actor voices), and scents to set scene.Great costumes and good actors, who have pretty good timing for scares as well.Really a 5 star experience. Then why 3 stars? All around they have banners and posters mandating masks and 6 feet. There was a group of people ranging from teens to young adults in front of us not wearing their masks. I brought it up to employees who suggested *I* ask them to put their masks on.Then when ignored, the second employee I asked stated, You cant really control people, you know? These are county mandates, not ours. We have a no scare policy where we dont act for people not wearing masks. He did, however, ask the guy to put his mask on.Nightmare, if you had a belligerent customer who consistently disobeyed the no touching rule in 2019, you would have had them removed to protect your employees and your set, right? Now, with a deadly airborne disease, you claim you cant enforce state and county mandated laws placed upon you as a business. Laws that you promised to uphold when you opened to the public this season. A no scare policy is a useless concept when you have so many animatronics and jump scares. As a haunter myself, Im disappointed with your inability to confirm the safety of anyone who enters your business. I really hope you can do better to protect everyone going forward into busy October.

(NOTE: I’d give 3.5 stars if I could, but I rounded up since I genuinely had a great time.)Quick background on me:I LITERALLY grew up in Castle of Chaos since my father is the owner/founder, so I’ve been exposed to a fair amount of haunting. I’ve now been through Nightmare on 13th a total of three times, all on different years.REVIEW:The courtyard is a perfect example of why Nightmare is famous for their sets and animatronics. The building itself is gorgeous, the animatronics are awesome, and the overall first impression couldn’t be better. On top of that, I was THRILLED to find an excellent actor on stilts roaming the courtyard dressed as a scarecrow with a pumpkin head and wielding a wooden hammer. Their interaction with my group was a excellent combination of scares and comedy, and they even made us feel welcome when one of us mentioned that we were from Castle of Chaos. The line was long, but we were able to admire some sets and animatronics on our way in as well as watch some pre-recorded videos of scares. The group picture halfway through the line was a nice touch. The show itself was very fun, and here’s some notes on it:• I love the winding path through the haunt. Up and down stairs, ramps, crooked rooms and moving rooms, under hanging things, it had amazing diversity.• The animatronics are great and mostly diverse, but some of them (namely the big ones) have very similar scares/placement/movements and lost a bit of their effect on me by the end. A couple of the animatronics seemed a bit outdated to me.• The sets are mind-blowing. Nightmare on 13th’s sets make you feel like you’re walking through a nightmare. SO immersive!• The sounds, smells, costumes, and effects were awesome and did a great job adding to the immersion.• I don’t think that it was very scary, but not much is to me. More important than making me scared, I had a great time going through. Now for the part I think could use the most improvement - the actors. During my walkthrough this year, I came across multiple actors who were holding their water bottles and trying to get into actor-only areas unnoticed, and by came across, I mean that I physically had to stop or move to the side to allow them to progress past me. I started my walkthrough in the back of my group, and was very disappointed that the actors’ jump scares were exclusively targeting the front of the group, meaning that the only times that I was lucky enough for someone to jump out at me was after I watched them reset into the exact same place they jumped out the first time. To be fair, I think that is partially a flaw in the set design since the actors don’t really have any other option in some spots. Once I made my way to the front of the group, I was disappointed again when I found that I could see MOST of the actors before they did their jump scares (I’m being as careful as I can to not over or under exaggerate anything, so when I say most, I mean it). And again, that could be a flaw in the set design. But now that I’ve gotten past the bad, I wanted to say that there were actors throughout the haunt who had great scares AND awesome dialogue! As an example, there was a clown who jumped around a corner (who I did NOT see coming), and informed me that two corpses in the ice cream area were Ben and Jerry and that the clowns were putting them in the ice cream. To make it even better, he hopped around another corner and scared the back of my group while I was still laughing!Overall, I think that Nightmare on 13th is an excellent haunted house. It isn’t very scary in my opinion, but it was a blast to walk through and I very much enjoyed myself! Thanks for the good time!

There were a lot of ideas that I had never seen before so it was cool to experience something different. For myself personally it had a jump factor but I wouldnt call it scary (I didnt go home and have nightmares).
