Had a nice dinner and a great time at GameWorks last night. I brought two eleven year olds who loved the games and two toddlers who loved all the lights, sounds and games to ride on and pretend they were playing. They have an excellent kids menu too. Definitely geared toward older kids, but the little ones still had fun and the big kids cant wait to go back!
The food was good, arcade games were fun and the service was awesome! They were so kind to explain the complex Utah drinking laws. We would have to order food then we could have drinks go play games and come back for more drinks without having to order more food. You just cant bring your drink to the gaming area. I will definatly be coming back for more.
Checked it out a few weeks after the grand opening. This is the cleanest GameWorks location I have been to (been to 2 other locations) and the food was great.Looking forward to my next visit!
Service was extremely slow. It took 45 min to an hour to get our order of over priced hamburgers and fries. One person ordered a half rack of ribs and they ended up hard like rubber. I guess we should of know cause there was hardly anyone there on a Saturday night. Then played the games which was fun but was also over priced for what it was. Plus you have to pay extra to play the games to win tickets. Overall our experience was disappointing and will not be a returning customer.
Had good impressions of this place reading up online. Went in hungry, ended up waiting 50 minutes for our order (2 burgers, fish and chips, and a sandwich). We decided if it hit 1 hour, we were walking out, they came really, really close. The server was very nice, but only checked on us maybe one time. The food was average, and we were extremely underwhelmed after the amount of time we waited. Went over to the arcade afterward, the main reason we were there. I had read online at other locations what the selection was like, definitely got my hopes up too high. The entrance has a bunch of ticket/prize games. You have to pay/load up your playing card with credits to play any of these games, even if you purchased a time card. We paid for an all day pass...but couldnt play a single one of these without paying more (we didnt). In the main area there are a handful of racing games, a couple of sports games (basketball shooting, football throwing), a lot of shooting/light gun games, a few simulation games, a few air hockey tables, a couple DDR machines, and a Guitar Hero machine. Many of the games that had multiple machines (the racers mainly) were out of order, which was disappointing because the majority of the games are two player. I was expecting at least a handful of arcade games, even some older ones, but there was one football game, nothing else. When you purchase a card that allows you a certain amount of play time, you CANNOT CONTINUE ON GAMES UNLESS YOU PAY EXTRA. If you die, youre done. Theres even a delay in between plays, where if you swipe your card, it wont work, takes about a minute it seemed like to reset. Totally killed it for us, couldnt even continue on games, so we didnt even play any of the games more than one time. We had an all day pass, and ended up staying for maybe an hour, if that. There are plenty of awesome arcades within 20 minutes of this place that are a fraction of the price with a huge selection of awesome games.
I went here with a ton of family after we did a city wide scavenger hunt. We went in hungry. Our server was very nice but didnt get any of our food or drinks right. The food was outright disgusting and was horrible for the rest of my family. The management was very rude when we ALL complained about the food and service, he basically told us to kick rocks. I do not suggest this place to any one unless you like bad service and food.
I havent been to a gameworks in years! So seeing one here in salt lake got me pretty excited. I was kind of disappointed because the amount of games they had was really limited. I was happy that they had 2 different versions of Dance Dance Revolution because that is my Jam!! They also had a separate room with pcs for esports, you know like good old fashoin lan parties. So they had a good number of ppl their playing some league of legends.Their ticket games was a hit or miss for me. Some where decient but others were pretty lame. They did have xbox one as a prize but the amount of tickets required is going to cost you double the amount it would cost to just buy it, unless you are super lucky and win jackpots in every game. The place it self was very clean. I didnt try the food so i cant say anything about that.In the end it was ok. Not the coolest or funniest arcade I have been to but better than nothing at all, which is what this mall has been for a couple of years already.
Fun! Love the esports room
Place is good food could improve with some seasoning
