Named for a child who required an adaptive play area: built by the community for ALL children.
Coolest park around for kids 3 to 12. In bad need of maintenance quite a few broken items things wearing out. Looks like they got a lot of sponsors to build the place but could use help keeping it maintained and going
The air in the park relaxes nicely so there is no stress
Such a magical place that I wish were in every city. I live in Pacific Grove and drive all the way to Salinas just to come here and my kids love everything about this place. What it represents is far more meaningful than any traditional park when it involves getting kids with disabilities to play with everyone else is absolutely magical!
Stars goes to this park for 5 reasons.#1. Plenty of CLEAN/stocked restrooms!#2. Unique & clean play equipment/play houses#3. Plenty of space for picnics & a good handful of picnic benches.#4. A focus on fruits, veggies, and access for all kids! (thank you!)#5. Lots and lots of room for imaginative pla
Nice park if people take care of it..I was actually saw when the renovated some of the walls, we came a few days later..they were damaged...
Park is very clean. Great access for individuals in wheel chairs or walkers. No sand just rubber mats. My 19 mo ths old loves it here and always has tons of fun. Lots of parking.
So far, my favorite in area.-no sand? Am I old skool?+has a actual closing time. (no night time creep vans to worry about)
Very open and inviting space for families to come and have their kids play and enjoy the outdoors. Plenty of activities to do for the kids and room for imagination.
This newly designed and constructed park is fabulous for kids of all ages. The park has everything that you can see in here or there parks. It is a park of everything. Kids can easily spend all day here.
This is a park built with love by the whole community. It was inspired by and for children of all abilities and it is a gem! It is truly a work of art and kept in a pristine condition. Lovingly built and kept up with continued community support. This has been a favorite park for our Grandchildren with its many attractions not often seen at other parks. Definitely worth a drive to get here and your family wont be disappointed.
Great place clean fun for kids placed to eat usually in the summer ice cream man is there all day
Its a great park to take any child to. It is maintained and in good condition. There is a lot of loitering going on at the parking lot and on the other park across from here but they dont seem to come into Tatums. Lock your car and dont leave anything in pain view and you should be fine.
Safe and fun place to take the kids. Nice padded playground with minimal risk of children getting hurt.. thanks equipment structure strong enough to handle adults and kids all at once very large play area swing set merry go round..
We visited Tatums Garden. This is a great place for children to come and play. Since we visited on a holiday and a blue sky day, many children were coming to play. This is a delightful accessible playground for all. It is well designed. There is a parking lot right by the garden. The playground is fenced. It is by the Salinas Sports Complex and Rodeo Grounds.
Its a wonderful experience watching my lil girl interact with kids her age in this very safe park
Awesome park for kids of all ages. Everything there is well maintained and clean.

I love this park, its kept nice and clean. No food allowed inside but there are benches and picnic tables set up outside in the grass area where you can have a snack. They lock up at sunset or at about 8pm I cant remember clearly but a guard comes around to tell you they will be closing soon. Plenty of bathrooms and some have changing tables. There is also a baby/toddler area. The park is also accessible to special needs children. They really have gone and tried to think of everyone. The only reason I dont give it a 5 star is because I would have loved if it had a water feature and maybe a bigger grass area but that really is pushing it as it is a wonderful park and probably the best one in Salinas. Also there is a mailbox of sorts when you first come in to the right heading to the grass area where you can donate books or take books, I think thats a really neat feature. Anyways, s really great park worthy of 5 stars. Thats my 2 cents, hope it helps.
Great playground! Clean, enclosed, so many different activities for the kids, of all ages!!
Great place for kids to run and play clean all the time..
Tatums Garden is accommodating to all kids of all abilities; lots to do for all, from toddlers on up. It was envisioned by the parents of a differently-abled child, funded by the community through private and public contributions, and built by volunteers. The play equipment ranges from the traditional items (swings, slides, forts) to the very modern (rollers, and I cant really describe the rest of the gamut). The kids really loved it, to the point that leaving the park was an issue. It has a single point of entry, which makes it easy to turn the kids loose. There are on-site restrooms, we-ll stocked and well-lit.There is also a very nice picnic area adjacent (outside the gated area). The parking lot is also adjacent to the park, and more is more than adequate. There are no refreshments on-site, so bring your own.
Tatums garden what a beautiful place to walk in peace and with nature its strange having something like that in the middle of Salinas as the rest of Salinas is just not as beautiful and peaceful as this garden, and the sound of delighted children of all ages, everywhere, and where it will take you you wont even remember that youre in Salinas which is good for a minute, and gets the little ones out of your hair for a minute. Its very wellaintained, clean, and, well different. In the most best way.
Looked like a great park and was super excited to take my child here to play today but the playground was closed nothing I could find online made it look like it should have been closed. It did look super fun. There are some tent cities nearby though so just be aware.
Awesome park for the kids. My son always has a blast here. Its kept pretty clean.
Its a great place for children, theres plenty to keep them occupied for hours and enough room for parents and guardians to sit and watch from the sidelines. Like all parks, it gets busier on weekends, but its still a good place to bring the family.
I love bringing my grandkids here. Today I brought 2 of my grandkids and boy was it dirty. I blame the parents!! There was wrappers, soda bottles empty! Trash every where!! I have NEVER seen it so bad!!
Always such fun for my 6 year old and my grandbabies! Safe, clean and exciting...
Nice place to go and have a great time with the kids
Love coming here with my son. I love that is an all access park that is available to all children even if they are differently abled. There are bathrooms available as well as seating areas. We love the baby swings. I am sad though that they are down to just one baby swing now instead of two.
A fabulous adaptive park for kids.
Playground not open.
My kids love this park it’s been our go to since they opened!! Just remember they don’t open during rainy days. They are also closed when the Rodeo is in town for the out of town to park there
Hi i bring my husky there
Love this park!!! Just wish people and I mean us all the public that we take our children. (We need to take good care of the park and help keep it clean) I always see garbage outside the trash cans :( Tatums mom went through alot of work to have this beautiful park for all of us to enjoy. Lets do our part by keeping it clean for every one who visits the park.
This is the largest playground I have ever been to and my 3 children loved it. This is an inclusive playground suitable for all ages and abilities. They have a tiny library along with bathrooms and seating areas. There is an area for younger children as well, there is also a music area which was very entertaining. This playground is huge compared to the average park. There is plenty of parking and it is a great place to go with your children, you will definitely loose track of time with all the interactive and fun features.
All in All it was great I had no complaints
Great place for kids to play and run around. We plan play dates here. Only one issue, the bathrooms were filthy.
Nice playground with enclosed areas and safe play structures. Two sides, one for tots and one for older grade school kids. The structure has many climbing spots for little ones. Bathrooms are nearby but OK, not well maintained. There is plenty of parking nearby.
Gets busy but super fun.
Kids always want to come here. They can play and Im less stressed. Its a safe place and the cushioned ground is #1
Nice place for my kids to play
Great place for kids to safely play. Bathroom well kept.
Absolutely fantastic place to take children. Its free to enter and an icecream truck rolls by every one in a while.Great place fpr children with disabilities. Have swings that are designed like Childrens car chair. You can recline back and fastened a seat belt.(How i would deacribe it) Also nice picnic area and tables.Section for Children under 5. and Parents may roam around freely.
Beautiful garden park clean restrooms too. Very handicapped accessible
This is a great specialty park for special education children. It was named Tatum Park by Tatums mother. She got it funded and oversaw its development. Many students in special education and regular classes enjoy this awesome park year round.
My son loves this park and i do as well. Its always so clean and very fun for kids of all ages.
Beautiful park for all children!
My kids love it here. Very clean great place for the family
Its a great place to have fun all day. I like the place since I dont have to worry about the sand on my kids shoes.
Great place for kids.
Inside the park is a friendly safe area for kids to play with convenient bathrooms and a grassy area with tables for picnics or birthday parties. This park has plenty of parking, with plenty of handicap spaces right up front next to the gate. I gave this only four stars because as you drive into the parking lot to the right opposite of the playground there is obvious homeless and drug activity.
Great place to take your kids it was constructed to be inclusive for all children
Great park for various age groups. A few homeless and some druggies walk by at times
My granddaughter loves coming here when she visits us.
Great playing area
Nice environment. My kids really enjoy it.
The best place in the world
Wonderful place for the kids.
The place is so nice theres so much to do I love it
The park needs a little maintenance but good fun for kids
My kids enjoy this park its definitely unique.
Great playground for kids of all ages. stopped here on a road trip south, perfect spot to have lunch and burn off some energy. there is a small lawn with tables and benches for picnics and a Little Free Library. there was an ice cream van and a cart when we visited.
Very nice facility. Clean. Decent sized parking lot. Only bummer is location. The back side of the Rodeo Grounds is ugly. Dont know why??
Excellent playground for all children.
Bathrooms need attention and the trash can by the swings is overflowing with trash. The bins are also outside of the container.
Big play area, the kids love it!
My favorite park wheelchair accessible
Awsome place to take the kids so much fun things to do.
The # 1 Best Park in Salinas California .
We stopped here so my toddler could play. He loved the park. Very clean place. Interesting. Good for all ages I would think.
One of the best places to take your kids in Salinas.
This is a great place to take the kids and just let them explore all that the park offers. It is great for all ages and capabilities. It was created for both children with special needs and those who dont. I would go there everyday with my child if I could.
My nephew and niece had a blast there, its clean, fenced off, restrooms on site . Soft padding throughout the play area
Best park In Salinasfor sures
My kids love this playground
It has many activities in the park so you wont get bored. Also, you can take your family since its good for all ages.
Cool spot for the kids to rip and run
My monkey loves it here so do we
Tatum Garden Park is the best and cleanest Park I have been to in along time
Good place for kids. Well constructed equipment. Safe. Can be crowded at times.
This is the best park in Salinas for young children. Its safe and clean for the most part and my grandkids love it.
Great place for kids. Mostly enclosed play area for both toddlers and older kids. Wheelchair accessible, special swings. Kept very clean, it was a refreshing change to traditional parks.
Love it.
Amazing for my son and autistic daughter. All families that come here are very excepting and very nice. Truly blessed to be able to have a park like this in our town.
Its a great place for everyone and always has fun activities as well as being sanitary
WOW! Adorable, fun, creative, & beautiful space for kids to run around and be kids! I was shocked at how awesome this place was- plenty of free parking and creative games Ive never seen at other parks. This place is super clean and full of art & color- they even have a take a book/leave a book box to promote literacy. I highly encourage you to pack a picnic or at least bring cool drinks because it gets really hot. There isnt any shade on the playground but there is shady grass areas next to the park. They also have restrooms and on the weekends, you best believe the local ice cream man (aka the paletero) will come by. Have kids? Must bring them!
#1 park in Salinas. I truely believe that. Clean . safe and fun
My daughter loves this park. Many things to do for kids of all ages.
Its a great park for kids ages 0-10, fully able to severely disabled. All enclosed for peace of mind. Can happily spend several hours there with young children, without incident.
Really clean and fun
Nice little park just watch for homeless that like to hangout nearby
My daughters like to play here
Made some repairs and added to the playground. Kids still like going there
It is great for the children.
Tatums Park is an amazing place designed for special needs children and the public.
