Nice little trail. Good for a quick hike and toddler friendly.
What a great little trail me and my family had a blast although one thing that bothers me is the folks that. Live around the trail where watching.us like criminals that was bullcrap
Good for walking your dog. Virtually no people when I went. There was a dismembered rat tail and head along the trail which was a little discerning though.
You can hear a lot of vehicle traffic but its beautiful and right here in the city.
Lovely trail, old trees and well maintained. Feels like one is farther away from civilization than you actually are. Just a very nice little walk. Not strenuous even if you do the whole thing. The map is accurate and there are many ways to do shorter or different routes.
A lovely forest haven with easy trails. A great place for a morning hike
Nice getaway walk in the city.
2/3 of my kids loved it, thats as good as I can hope for. Great trail for riding bikes. Thanks SATA!
Awesome hike just didnt get to see the river
Always good food at Elmers @
Easy to get to, pretty basic and beautiful trail
Nice wooded trail in South Salem.
Its next to a high school and the trails have dog poop every where.
The Skyline Trail is a woodsy pocket trail wrapped around Sprague High School. The upper loop is 0.75 mi and the lower skyline loop is 1 mi. The south trail head is marked by a small white sign, as you enter Sprague High School, turn immediately left in to the parking lot and quickly find a parking spot.Recommended to go counter-clockwise around the loop and stay to the right as you navigate the 0.75 upper loop. You may encounter the occasional mountain bike rider. Climb a short and slightly steep hike up to the north trail head. For the return loop, keep to the right and you will follow the skyline loop with scenic glimpses of the Croisan Creek below. There are two steep spurs that will take you down to the creek below, but best to keep to the main trail along the hillcrest and return to the south trail head where you started. Some may prefer hiking boots and a walking stick as the trail is uneven in spots, but walking shoes will be fine for most. For a longer (4 mi) day-hike, there is a pedestrian gate next to the north trail head. Through there and a five-minute walk along surface streets will lead to the Croisan Creek Trail head for a 1 mile there and back descent through a woodsy hillside interspersed with houses and scenic views.
Somewhat difficult to find where you need to be (no signs) went to take pictures at the creek but hiked 3 hours trying to find it instead
