Boy to think we only use to come for the kite festival (dont get me wrong that is awesome) what a waste on our part, the trail, the river, the fields, the playground!!!! Holy smokes batman!!!!! Come to kick the ball, to run your dog, to walk or just the playground alone!!!! Even I as an adult wanted to play in that awesome playground!!!

Nice park. Kids love the open spaces and the creek to play in all around one of my favorites. And this is probably only my second review Ive ever left ..

Nice park with good trails. Easy to locate. Plenty of parking.

We will travel to be here. My kids and I love this park. Our favorite is the kite festival every year. But the greenways here are inviting and its such a lovely piece of our home state.

Its a very nice park for all age groups. They have kids play area, lot of play grounds. I enjoyed playing cricket in the baseball court .

Lots of space. Restrooms were very clean I was not expecting that in a park bathroom. Very nice.

We love Green Hill Park. Perfect place to walk, ride bikes, skate, and even drive RC Cars. Great trails and nice to play at the river.

We got some takeout and ate in the picnic area. Really lovely scenery. Makes for a very nice date night.

Beautiful; spacious, great place to go for a walk, picnic, pics.... good for social distancing right now too.

It gets busy so definitely not for people who dislike being around others, but overall a good place, especially for families with children.

The park is beautiful, just be aware of the venomous snake in the water. Our first day here we saw 6 venomous snakes in the water kinda scary when Childrens are not aware.

Green Hill Park is just a nice park to go to for walking,take the kids to play, walk your dogs, watch softball or baseball games, there is a little river there you can get into. Its a nice big park to go to enjoy yourself, & relax.

Beautiful park with lots of activities. Designated electric aircraft flying area is wonderful and all the facilities are well maintained. Great place for sports, bocce, flying, riverside activities, and paddle sports launching.If you are a uav flyer be aware that they have regulated drone flying and may be in conflict with state code.15.2-926.3. Local regulation of certain aircraft.No political subdivision may regulate the use of a privately owned, unmanned aircraft system as defined in § 19.2-60.1 within its boundaries. Nothing in this section shall permit a person to go or enter upon land owned by a political subdivision solely because he is in possession of an unmanned aircraft system if he would not otherwise be permitted entry upon such land.2016, c. 451; 2018, cc. 851, 852.They require $25.00 registration fee, AMA, membership proof, and only allow flying at two fields in this park while wearing their permit ID and ban drones at all other parks and recreation parks in the county.None of this detracts from the quality of the park, this is a national issue that a lot of places are struggling with. I would not have mentioned it if the restrictions did not reach county wide. Please read and obey all applicable rules and regulations and fly safe while you enjoy the breath taking scenery.

We love coming to this park. Theres a lot of great short walks, a playground for the kids, sports fields and during the summer a small river beach. There are many great family friendly events held here throughout the year.

Why dont you open bathrooms?! Safer cleaner than a pot with bees in it. Nasty.

Green Hill Park is well maintained and is a beautiful spot for anyone wanting to enjoy the outdoors. There’s 4 ball fields, scenic trails, a playground, and more.

Beautiful place to go on shorter, easier hikes. Beautiful view from the top of the mountain. Well maintained paved walking path on the outskirts of the park. Also great for biking since the paved trail is adequately wide.

Nice open areas to take your dog or just walk yourself. Really could use a fenced-in dog park, then this would be a 5 star park.

So much space to do anything you want! Great sports fields, playground, walking/running/biking trails and the river is right there. So much fun!

Huge public park, baseball field, soccer field, huge flat areas for any kind of activity. Picnic tables, walking trails, golf driving range and great area for smaller kids.

Love Salem area, and this park just adds to its charm

This is a great park to walk and play. The only problem I have encountered is some people dont keep their dogs on a leash or do they clean up after them!

Its a good place to fish

Great open space and playground to take my grandson, walked along the river path looking for treasures. Many were found!

The area is well maintained, and right on the river, offering a variety of family orientated activities. Parking areas are plentiful, and convenient. Its just a fun, relaxing place to be.

Beautiful for walking, swimming & picnics

This was a really nice place to go. We just went to the playground parkside but a section of it was right on the river with access and there were shelters for people to cookout & tables. There are soccer fields, baseball fields and walking paths. Really nice place to go and ride a bike, throw a football around, practice your soccer, batting and more. Head on out if you ever get a chance.

Best wonderful park i have ever seen !!!. It has picnic area, kids play area, crystal clear water stream running . Very good and clean maintenance. Not sure about restrooms. Also, wonderful mountain views.

A little disappointed with the trash that people left down by the river My 5 year old granddaughter Wanted To know why They did that We picked up some trash and toke it home with us

We visited Green Hill Park to watch our Cross Country team compete in the State Championship - our boys finished first in state and our girls finished 4th ( division one ) was a great at a great Park - plenty of parking and park was very clean

Great place to hike. The county always has events going on here. He playground is good for little ones and the creek access is very nice.

Great little park

Green Hill Park is a great place. It can cater to large groups and couples. It has picnic areas, trails, and water access.The river bed is very rocky and slippery if you decide to wade into the water be sure to wear water shoes of some variety. Also if you have little ones be mindful of the current, its strength ebbs and flows.There are only two picnic tables near the water access for the river so if you are planning on sticking around for a picnic you may want to bring your own tables and chairs.

4th Annual Blue Ridge Kite Festival

Great walking trails for all abilities and beautiful scenery. I even saw great blue heron on the Roanoke River.

Its a really nice place to walk.Good vegetation. Pawpaw trees, American chesnuts, and wild grapes. Lots of people come here to dip in the river.

Love to spend family time in this lovely green park. Lots of open spaces for ball games and such, or just walking your pets. This could be improved with a little info center for parking, comfort rooms and such. Overall - great view of the mountains and fresh clean air.
