The wine flight showcased a wide range of wines. I loved two of the six, and the other four were pretty good. The hummus plate was really great, as was the pizza! The tasting room is small, and can get loud if there are lots of people. It was chilly when we were there yesterday. They have a wood stove but didnt seem to be using it. They have outdoor seating with heaters as well. The road it overlooks is pretty quiet, so it seems like itd be a nice space to sit, but we were too chilled to do that.
This is our favorite winery to visit on a regular basis. The pizza is fantastic, wine is great and the atmosphere is welcoming and fun.The staff are super helpful and enjoy talking through the menu and wines. They have recently developed several areas to sit and take advantage of the views. The gorgeous deck, the quaint garden or the barrel area. All offer different views and access to the tasting room and vineyard.
I dont know much about wines, but I really enjoyed the Estate Chardonnay. The pizza was quite zesty, though the dough tasted like a cracker. The service was marvelous, the wait staff was helpful. and the band was a pleasure to listen and dance to. We sat outdoors and were treated to an incredibly Oregon sunset
I was pleasantly surprised by Ankeny Vineyards. It was quaint, beautiful buildings and vineyards. The brick oven pizza was excellent and the white wine was very good. Our server was Jessica. She was so patient and kind. I will definitely be looking forward to going back soon.
Went for their wine flight and wood fired pizza and wasnt disappointed. The Melange was a unique and delicious white, and the double chocolate port was the perfect ending. The wood fired pizza serves 2 people and is the perfect thin crust.
We found ourselves doing a drive out on the country roads, when we came upon this winery. It was kind of hidden and out of the way. As we passed it, we had to turn around and give it a try. Try it we did. We had some delicious tastings and one of their charcuterie plates. The sun was so warm while we enjoyed our tastings and awesome summer bites. As it turned out, we ended up buying two bottles of some delicious intoxicants to enjoy at home. Well look forward to stopping by this enchanted place on another stop before our fall season arrives.... before we know it. Can hardly wait till next time ...
Very nice place! Great wine, delicious food, love their live music! Highly recommended!
This was our first time out to the property, it was gorgeous and so peaceful. Their charcuterie board is amazing! I am usually a chardonnay drinker but my favorite wine they carry is the Sparkling Muscat. The sweetness isnt over powering but just enough from the fruit notes that come through. Their tasting alone had so much variety and even included their chocolate port (also amazing). The staff was knowledgeable, propt, and sweet. The whole establishment was very clean, will be back!
We had a lovely visit. We did a wine tasting and had two pizzas. Everything was absolutely delicious ! We left with a delicious bottle of chocolate port, and plan on having a wonderful dessert in the near future . After our meal we walked along the beautiful grounds. It was definitely worth the (scenic) drive.
This place is absolutely fabulous! The scenery, the service, the staff, the wine, and the food are all outstanding. The winery is nestled in the countryside and has a very easy going feel unlike many other winerys in the Willamette Valley.
Great wine, great food, great staff. and great music.
Nice spot to relax. They did especially well with the spacing during the pandemic, even with the place at capacity.
Great wines, yummy foods (pizza and more), super friendly staff, and casual and comfy environs. Well be back!!
Such a beautiful place, and great wines! And the jazz band was AMAZING!
This place is Perfect! I cant wait to go back!
Pizza was delicious and cabernet just right!
Very nice, food was great, wine, outdoors. Was just a bit busy and took a little to get food and drink, but super friendly.
We met the new owner last night! Pizza was amazing-They even had gluten free. They have a real little outside pizza oven! Staff was outstanding and so friendly! Wine selection was excellent!!! They had some live music that was alot of fun too. We will for sure be back! Going to to our new cool hangout!
Cute, quaint, country location tucked away. The wines were decent, and the staff was fantastic.
Delicious wine and tasty pizza!!
A beautiful farm with fantastic wood fire pizza.
They dont id you.
Never had a bad experience here in the dozens of times visiting. The pizza is the best wood fired pizza in the valley. The wine tasting from Groupon is a great deal & I keep taking advantage of it. I prefer white wine & their wines please my palate.
Good wine, friendly service,
First time here. Parked the Benz. Not really sure which building it was. By mistake I walked to the owners home.A nice black dog greeted me with a a little bark. The owner came out . Very Rude. Cant you read the signs.I said Im sorry. First time here I said.Came out to try something new.Well then we tried the wine. Really acidic on both white wines. Not coming back. If the owner lives on the premise be kind.Didnt try the food. But other reviews say its good.
Delicious
Great as usual we have been coming here for 3 and a 1/2 years since we had a groupon from our kids we come back and bring somebody new with us or just stop and have pizza and wine on a motorcycle ride we love this place. Wine and the pizza are perfect.
Quaint & out of the way. Ample seating & friendly service. Wood fired pizza’s are delicious and you can watch them getting made on the deck seating. Extensive wine list.
We visited Ankeny over the weekend with family. We enjoyed the cozy environment and the tasting. It was raining upon our visit, so a small band was playing inside. This made it a bit difficult to chat with the group. But overall, it was a lovely afternoon.
Cute little winery out by the National Wildlife Refuge. With beautiful views, the winery is very farm like with the interior setup very similar to a café. The flights are well prices and service is on point. Food selection is minimal, but common for wineries in the area. They also occasionally host live music.
They allow kids! There are animals nearby and art, so convenient for bird watchers and those that truly appreciate a nice drink and bite to eat! I keep going back! Hours are not the most extended... but if that is the only slight con.. keep hiring east coast chefs! They know know what they are doing. . So fun coming here!Prices and tastings are affordable...See you soon.
There is a historical (Cox) cemetery located on this property which has pioneers of Oregon buried in it,There needs to be better access, people shouldnt have to ask permission from the winery. Its unbelievable there is no attempts to make it more accessible to the public, this historic cemetery is hidden away on somebodys property, what a shame.I may be mistaken but the website for the winery doesnt even mention this being on its property, I seen one photo of a tombstone?
A very nice smaller winery with great pizza from their wood fired pizza oven. Summer afternoons on the deck with a glass of wine or Rouge ale are perfect
Had a wonderful time, the wine is delicious and so is the food nice little spot hidden in the woods in South Salem.
So beautiful!!!
I loved Ankeny! The views were great, the staff was awesome, and the old dog that followed us around was super sweet!Well definitely be going back:)
Generous wine samples and great pizza done in a wood fired oven. Friendly and helpful staff.
Wonderful place. Wonderful wine. Wonderful food. Wonderful people. Wonderful music.
Joe, Jordan and Lilly are excellent hosts and a visit to Ankeny is a warm, welcoming experience. The winery and vineyards have such a special feel about them and it is always a pleasure to visit this beautiful place. Grab your friends and head out to Ankeny soon!
The wine was great and the service not so much. The server didnt interact much less acknowledged/completely ignored me and my friend as we completed the wine tour and focused on his friends/other customers. As much as we loved the wine, we wont recommend coming back unless someone else is working.
Danny was great! They were super busy for Memorial Day weekend but he was very attentive and fun! Good wine and great service! Ill be back!
Well, today marked the end of my employment at this establishment. Literally everyone that works here is amazing, sweet, kind, interesting, etc. Except the manager. Ive looked through the reviews and Ive talked to other employees and Im not alone in feeling this way. He abuses my girlfriend and I for the entire time we were there. Constantly had negative things to say (even though we are very hard working people who respect others and always go above and beyond).I finally had enough when he literally shooed me away while I was talking about something serious and then decided I was worthless because I didnt give more than a weeks notice before leaving, when this business doesnt even schedule two weeks for me, so why would I do that for them?Basically... dont go until hes gone in a few months... until then, just know, this manager gets full share of tips, yet barely earns it through hard work and respect towards his customers and employees.
Good wines. Nice staff.
It used to be our favorite place to take in an evening.... it now closes at 6pm with the kitchen closing at 5:30pm... really bummed about that as we both get off work at 5pm. Probably will not be back due to timing.
Great local wines and wood fired pizza! Love coming back here!
Great wine. Delicious pizza on pizza days. Beautiful and remote
We WERE regular customers, and were even wine club members. Originally, one of the main perks of being a member, was every time we would go out there, we were entitled to a free glass of wine. ....then several months ago the decided they were giving away too much wine, so the just stopped doing that. They also guaranteed us that they would NEVER run the Visa/debit card for our shipment until we actually pick it up and authorize the charge.....which was very important to us. The last time we were there (12/5/15) we were rushed, because there was some kind of event happening later on, but were told we would NOT be kicked out at 5 PM (website STILL says they close at 8 on Saturdays), yet on of the event people came over and told us we have to leave even though I wasnt even finished eating my pizza!. Then the dufus that was helping? us, totally screwed up our wine club shipment which were thought we would pick up while we were there, and didnt even GIVE us one of the bottles, PLUS we had purchased a Groupon for 4 which was to include 4 souvenir glasses, and TWO bottles of wine. (No exclusions or limitations as to what bottles or value), yet the guy says yeah, we have had an issue with Groupon and they havent fixed it yet and would only give us ONE $25 credit towards the 2 bottles we were supposed to get!!! Then......to top it off, when I checked my bank account online, I find that MY card had ALREADY BEEN CHARGED FOR $79.90 FOR MY WINE CLUB SHIPMENT! It was earlier in the SAME day, and was NOT authorized! Needless to say, they have LOST our business for good. Not a very good way to treat (or cheat?) your GOOD customers!
Had a wonderful experience, great wine and pizza!
Wonderful wine & pizza.
