Cool place to bring an eno and hammock or play pickle ball. Sometimes there’s lots of broken glass near the trees for putting up a hammock.

Too much trash thanks to lazy people, but also need more than one trash can. Maybe by the porta potty and near the pickle ball parking. Also, a few more benches, especially around the playground. Otherwise nice. Grass cut and love the new swings

Its a nice park, theres soccer, a playground, pickleball court, and basketball court. I only go for basketball, and the court is decent enough... Its full court, the lines are fading though and the rims are just okay- they are not double rimmed through so thats nice

The pickleball courts are in awesome shape. Royal Oak is offering lessons in June. Learning how to play along with many other novices.

1st visit today for a dedication of some new equipment for the memorial of a friends daughter. Swings, benches, sand/toys and a garden added today to an already nice park. Enjoy the Inman memorial equipment when you stop by.

Whittier Park is fantastic! It is a neighborhood jewel with great equipment for children of almost all ages so long as they can at least hold their head up and sit comfortably in a baby swing. Beyond the usual playscape area, its a great area to just take a walk across a wide landscaped green space or down the side streets where picturesque homes abound. And of course sports like soccer and basketball and pickleball are all lively when the weather is good.

Really lucky to have this park so close to me as it really brings the community together. This is a somewhat active neighborhood and its a great hangout spot. A typical summer day you can find dogs playing together in the field, people laying out on blankets chatting, people playing a pretty competitive game of pickleball, teens playing basketball, and kids playing on the playset or in the sandbox, or a game of soccer. It is pretty well maintained. When it rains though, the field gets flooded.

I live across from this park which features a big field which is popular for soccer and pickup games off football and other sports.Features the largest Pickleball Outdoor Court in the Midwest. Pickleball is like tennis and pingpong played on a badminton sized court. There are about six courts and a porta potty. Spring to fall there are a lot of friendly Pickleball enthusiasts hanging around that are willing to teach anyone the game. I would recommend Pickleball to anyone who is even a little bit athletic to the super jock. Whittier also has a nice sidewalk that runs the complete perimeter of the park so its good for jogging or bike riding. Big playscape for little kids. Nice big shade trees near playscape and all around the edges of the park. A few benches and even a grill a a few picnic tables near the playscape. There can be dogs at times but most dog owners are good about picking up doggie do and come at off hours. There is also a basketball court that is popular and a backstop for baseball on the SW side. Not enough trash cans and sometimes bums float through but the cops are on N. Alexander Street regularly.Great park to lay around and or stretch out in. Another lovely big park in Royal Oak
