Nice little park! Gives one the illusion of being in the woods and away from the metro area. Nice trail network. If you follow the trails around the perimeter it takes around ten minutes to do a full circle so it must be around a half mile.

Great place to take a walk In the winter, late summer or fall. It is marshy in the spring time. Very large old growth trees. There is actually wildlife in this small forest. We’ve seen a lot of deer, foxes and families of raccoons .

Absurdly locked-down forest surrounded by ten foot high fencing topped with barbed wire indicative of an insane suburban control mindset. Single turnstile entrance thats one way. God forbid we just let nature be natural.

Quickstad Park is primarily a set of soccer fields sandwiched between Tenhave Woods and Royal Oak High School athletic fields. The fields are well-maintained and have good run-off performance. Parking for the fields is either on-street to the north or in the lot to the south. No permanent bathrooms are on-site, but nearby restrooms in the high school field house, the city ice rink and/or the community center might be open and available.

Todays weekly trip was disappointing. An aggressive off-the-leash dog menaced me and a young family with three small children. I called out to the dog owners that they were violating a posted city ordinance. I was met with a torrent of profanity in reply. We all left the park, surrendering the 100 acres to the aggressive dog and its rude owners.

This park is a gem in the city. Its just big enough that you feel like youve escaped the hustle and bustle. Paths are well maintained and wide. Quiet and relaxing. The pond isnt amazing as the water level has dropped so low its more of a large puddle surrounded by mud - but there are always turtles out if the sun is out. Check the map on your way in - some of the gates are one way (only enter or exit).

I run through the park many times each week to add some variety. The wooded trails are nice. It does suffer from having too many intersecting trails that fragment the forest. The entrances are not friendly for many with disabilities, and oddly enough, some are exit only.

Great wilderness trail and you may just catch sight of the deer if youre lucky enough! Its also the soccer fields for the littlest soccer players every few years. As of October 2017 its a retired field which means no walking on the grass with dogs.

Came for a soccer game so biased to that event. Google maps will get you close. Better off coming in on Normandy Rd and parking there, then walking to the fields. (Google maps will take you to a street that comes to an end near a forest, if you are there, just hit a right and then a left on Normandy. It will be on your left hand side) When we came porta-pottys were available. Didnt use so cant speak to clean or open.

Nice park for dog walking or hiking through the woods (no dogs allowed in nature trail). May be soccer crowd on Saturday mornings, so park along Normandy.
