Fall is the perfect time to visit! Not to hot and the animals are more active.

We love the polar bear habitat here. The viewing tunnel is a great way to see them. It can get crowed at normal times, but this has been closed during the COVID-19 outbreak. We look forward to returning to the view-tube soon!

Always a great time at the Detroit Zoo. Although the inside was closed. It was still a great time

Some of it was closed off when we went but the animals were still able to be seen outside and in the water. It was very clean and beautiful!! I saw the polar bear and the sea lion (I believe).

First time Ive seen the polar bears out in the summer months. They were playing with each other and walking around. Theyre beautiful

Brrrr, but not so cold. It was a grand sight to behold. Goblin Approved, and really neat. Just dont go swimming, those cute foxes like to nip at your feet. A Gobtastic experience for one and all, say hi to the bears when they wave a paw.

Constantly improving the exhibits for the welfare of the animals and we who love to see them. Felt very Covid safe as we walked the zoo.

The tunnel is closed because of covid....so we didnt have a great experience....when the tunnel is open its one my favorite things at the zoo

Completely empty, no animals though this exhibit. Area where you can see animals is closed, so no more seeing underwater habitat of polar bears.

Really cool place to take your kids and grandkids.

The seals were showing off and so much fun to watch! But their enclosure seems a bit small. Hope to see it enlarged soon. Polar bears were cool too.

Very disappointed that there werent any polar bears out. Not quite sure where they were, but thats a LONG walk for quite a bit of disappointment!

I never realized polar bears could be so off-white! This part of the zoo is one of my favorites and my little one cant get enough of it either! No trip to the zoo is complete for us unless we go through the Arctic Ring of Life. This exhibit is a major win and a definite crowd pleaser!

My visitors from Germany along with my grand children sure enjoyed the zoo and all the animals! We got to see the polar bear too and all the penguins! Great time we had and the weather was perfect!

They where closed the day we were there, but its the Zoo, Love it.

Love the exhibit here, especially when mom and dad need a quick AC break on a hot day. If you are lucky enough to vatch the polar bears, they are quite spectacular!!

Favorite exhibit at the zoo!!! Its been redone since I was last there, and it was an incredible time.

I was expecting to see a lot of animals for what it cost to get in but no very few not worth the time to go here

Its truly wonderful! I could spend a whole day watching them play and wander around.

It wasnt open. Disappointing that the Detroit zoo didnt have anything open because of whitmer.

The polar bear was very playful, tossing his toy in the water and diving in after it. The glass tunnel under the water offered an amazing view.

Went on pumpkin smashing day and got great up close views of both the polar bears.

Didnt have a lot of animals out got my hopes up

The Detroit zoo is a wonderful place to visit. The Arctic Ring of Life is only one of the outstanding exhibits there.

Set up so perfectly to see the Polar Bears in and out of the water.

Updated 11/20. No more seals at all and theyre not coming back. Love going through here on every trip to the zoo. The opportunity for up close underwater photos of the seals as well as the polar bears is fantastic. Recently (June through August 2018) it had a refresh/remodel of concrete and paint, and all the glass was polished. Disappointed that one of the seals (Keenak) was sent away, and isnt coming back.

This was worst visit to the zoo. Hardly any animals out and a lot of exhibits were closed. Most expensive walk I ever paid for. However food courts were alp open ?? Go figure.

This place is a exotic tourist point of interest and famous for viewing polar bear.

The bears wasnt out the seals was cool

One of our favorite places to visit. The snow fox were lounging and visible. We could see the seals being fed and gliding over our heads. The art work is fascinating. The polar were not in site but when its hot and late in the day thats not unusual. We will be spending lots of time there this year!

The zoo was very enjoyable on senior citizen day all caregivers get in for free.

We did not see any polar bears at all until the end. The polar bear was pacing back and fourth. And it was a bummer that we could not go inside of the building.

Very cool, Detroit Zoo has made a lot of improvements. There are still some ongoing upgrades being made, such as Tiger house. A great place for a calm, peaceful afternoon with the animals!

Cool place to escape the summer heat, beautiful artwork, artic animals, informative zookeepers and staff (volunteers?), and under water atmosphere.The artic outpost has more views, cameras, and an infared live video setup.Plus a giftshop along the path, and of course the artic cafe which is the main/largest eatery.

Polar bears are my favorite animals, I am so happy here

Love this exhibit at the zoo. Sometimes it can be hard to see the polar bears but most every time Ive been there Ive been able to see them even when hot!

This is the best exhibit! They did a great job creating a realistic environment for the animals and a incredible viewing area for visitors.

Loved this place

The polar bear exhibit was very crowded. There were a good number of viewing areas, but the polar bears chose to be in a place visible only by one viewing area.We were unable to see arctic foxes.The seals were easily viewable.Informational displays were educational, well-placed, and easily viewable.

Didnt get to see the polar bear this time but still the exhibit was excellent.

Went to the Detroit zoo today was wonderful sunny and all the animals were out and active great time.

The kids like it the place and its always nice to go to. Just a lot of walking

BEST DAY EVER the moma bear was a hoot playing with her toys throwing them in the air an taking them under the water. BEST IN SHOW. BUS DRIVER SPARKY
