Its a great park to go to if you want to play some soccer on the fields, go on the playground or even have a picnic at the picnic table next to the playground. The Frisbee golf course is a little confusing though. Had to look up where the holes were and has a tendency of eating the frisbees so be mindful when throwing. The holes and trails are not properly marked and after hole 3 it gets confusing where they are. Couldnt even find hole 9 and was a little disappointed with the course. Otherwise a good place to go with friends to hang out.
Love this park. Spacious and beautiful.
Great playground, nature trails, disc golf, soccer fields and even a pond for kids to catch sunfish and carp off a nice dock w railings
Another example of upstate New Yorks great outdoors
This was my dogs favorite park due to pond and frogs. We did have an issue with gate not open on a weekend day when it was labeled to be open. That was disappointing.
Nice little park but do not play disc golf here. The holes are densely wooded and extremely narrow. Definitely the area to lose a lot of discs. Also there are no tee boxes (just a post in the ground to mark the area), a number of the holes are on the edge of the soccer fields which makes it a little harder to play without potentially interrupting the game, and holes 4 and 9 share a basket.
I was there for a soccer game and the fields were decent. They were flat across the entire field (from a spectator view) and the grass was maintained well. There are restrooms here but not much else that I saw. The road going in is paved well but the parking lot needs a little attention to match the road. It was windy and there are plenty of cottonwood trees around to fill the air during the season with those white fluffy seedlings.
We had a scout event here and there is plenty of space, nice restrooms and parking and a pretty little pond.
Great spot to take the kids to play and explore.
Nice park lots of field area, playground, bathrooms, dog park an a small pond with a dock
Great place to walk the dog
Good place to bring the childrens to
There was ample parking, as this is where 3 soccer fields and a baseball diamond are. There is a small playground as well. Personally I was there to play disc golf. There is a 10-hole course set up here. (9 baskets, the 9th hole and and the 4th hole share a basket.) The course is a combination of open and wooded holes. The wooded ones are fairly challenging. I have also heard that there may be poison ivy out on the course, so pants instead of shorts may be recommended. Some of the holes are not intuitive as to where they are, but there is a decent map located by hole #1, which is just North of the playground. Snap a picture of it if you can, it may help you.
This park really has something for everyone! We loved the large playground area with multiple play structures and swing sets. Kids of all ages will have a ton of fun on them. For sports enthusiasts, there are 4 soccer fields and one large baseball diamond. All of the fields looked to be pretty well maintained. Soccer season hadnt started yet when we visited so the lines on the fields were pretty faded, but thats to be expected.Theyve also recently added a 9-hole disc golf course to the park which is pretty fantastic if youre in to that. Rochester has a fair number of these, but few on the West side. Finally, there are trails and even a pond with a dock. This park is really amazing!
Truly appreciate this Park
This park and soccer field are off the beaten path. Its quite hard to find if you dont slow down and pay close attention. Once you do see the sign and turn in theres a long narrow road through a forest before opening up to a park and several Soccer fields. Its also very muddy, lumpy and all together not flat. On the plus side for animal lovers feel free to bring your pet to roam around the areas without restriction. Lastly theres an easy to locate bathroom facility. Which is a nice perk.
We had a great time
Well maintained soccer fields and a decent play ground for when soccer is complete.
Located in a wooded area off of Lyell Rd in Gates. It opens up to a large park with a small childrens play area and large, multiple sports fields.
Great sports fields. The disc golf course is disappointing though.
Wonderful place! My drum corps, Atlanta CV, rehearses there every Labor Day weekend when we travel to Rochester for our championship competition.
Nice oark
Great space for all activities, good for all ages, wish the town would water the field.
Great public place
Lovely park
Parking lot is bad
Great location for soccer
Always a wonderful place to walk
