This place is absolutely amazing, I had the pleasure of touring the compound recently and decided to write a review about it. You cannot visit without an appointment or a tour taking place, the grounds are closed off. If you have the money, and enjoy the finer things in life you should host your events here. The castle exterior is astounding and is perfect for any photo session. The interior is well taken care of, as you can see in most of the pictures the decor speaks for itself. The grounds are well taken care of and there is an arch walkway perfect for engagement or wedding pictures. I hope to one day host an event here in the future. The service staff are pleasant and respectful, they respond to your inquiries fast and are ready to get things going for any of your requested events. If you want your special day to be here I would book in a year or so in advance because their calendar fills up quickly. Even just walking to the venue itself is like an adventure since you have to go through a small walkway trail and then head to the gate, and entrance. That being said, great venue for it all.

I honestly thought this place would be rather boring, that Id go inside, see some history, and thats that. But it was so much more than that! It was beautifully decorated in every room. It had a scavenger hunt and free hot cocoa, and it was not only enjoyable but also educational. I highly recommend this place to anyone who enjoys the feeling of another time, wonderful architecture and amazing displays.

Came here for an outdoor wedding on a beautiful Labor day weekend. The wedding was gorgeous at the mansion and the after ceremony bar outside was gorgeous. We then moved into a tent for the reception which was not as nice but was good. The views here are gorgeous, the mansion is amazing. Missed the tour unfortunately.

Stephanie from Meadowbrook is one of the best hospitality people I have ever encountered. I travel for business and have the good fortune of experiencing venues and food around the country and nothing compared to Saturday. I blown away at the staff and effort at my wedding last weekend. Looking at the event on paper, seemed it great, but the actual experience was 1000X more than I anticipated. The helpful person named Melissa could not have been better and the food, the bartenders, staff at every juncture were spectacular. If you for one second hesitate about having an event here, dont, there can be no better place.

Meadow Brook Hall is a National Historic Landmark, built in 1929 by the Dodge Wilson family. It is preserved to this day as a museum by the Oakland University. The weddings conducted at this beautiful mansion constitute one the main resources to maintain the property. We visited around 8-9 wedding venues in the metro Detroit area and picked Meadow Brook, because it offers unique royal ambience enriched with history. It also offers exclusive use that means there would not be any other wedding or event during your wedding. Finally, it has in-house four star catering services and both ceremony and reception can be held at the venue. After the initial booking, as we neared the wedding season, we were Stephanie as our wedding day coordinator. She further strengthened our view that we made the right choice in picking Meadow Brook as our wedding venue. We picked most of our other vendors from their preferred vendors list. She reached out to them and arranged the logistics of their arrival, set-up and pickup. She was very attentive, patient and went above and beyond in answering all our queries. We could not happier with all the work, she did for us.There is only one downside of Meadow Brook. Since it is an old property, there is no air-conditioning there except the dining hall. Hence, the months of October – April are ideal for an indoor reception. For the months of May-September, you may use the tent outside and get it air-conditioned on a short notice if a warm weather is in forecast. However, a tent does not offer the same ambience as the mansion.

We thoroughly enjoyed our full day tour of this magnificent Mansion, Meadow Brook Hall, which is a Tudor Revival style mansion that took 3 years to build (1926-1929). It was by Matilda Dodge (Wilson) the Dodge Automaker Heiress and her 2nd husband, Alfred Wilson, a lumber baron. This huge home has 110 rooms and is the 4th largest historic mansion museum in the United States. Plan plenty of time to tour the grounds and building. You must purchase a tour ticket and follow your guide. Public Restrooms and plenty of parking available. The Mansion is also available for special events, weddings, etc.Too add to my above comments: There were two Dodge Brothers, both contracted Spanish fever and will die from it. John Dodge in 1920. Well Johns 1st wife had died from tuberculosis, so he secretly marries his maid then divorces her couple years later, then marries his secretary Eleanor and he dies. His wife Eleanor and sister-in-law sell the Dodge auto company for todays equivalent of $ 2 billion! Eleanor remarries a lumber baron Alfred Wilson and will inherit his fortune as well when he dies! They build this 110 room mansion and its a doozey! Eleanor was making $ 40,000 PER DAY in the 1920s from her investments! Check out the Tiffany lamps, light fixtures. Uranium based glassware that glows in the dark, liquor cellar with all bottles from Pre-Probition. So much wealth! Got to meet the President running the place. Neat. A lot going on here! A must visit!Kindly click the like button if this review or my photos are useful.

It wasnt worth the fee not that they dont have a lot of history there but we went there for the Easter egg for Easter whatever with our daughter and they had no Easter hunt and they were really chintzy about the Easter eggs they were handing out. It appeared they were setting up for another event while they were running this event which was somewhat distracting they had no coffee or anything for the adults I actually dont think that yall should be charged a fee to bring their kids here and I think it needs to be much better. Honestly I could have run it better Easter egg hunt or holiday in my own backyard than they did their. At $20 a had they should provide a lot more for the money thats $20 for every adult baby child. Ridiculous

What a beautiful house! I am so glad I went on this tour. Not only was it interesting, it was fun. Come explore the house of an auto baron widow and her family after the tragedies they endured. This turn of the century family built their own wonderland hidden deep in the country, filled with all the modern conveniences, including secret passages and a movie theater. I cannot decide if the grounds or the house interior is more beautiful. The interior is filled with carved dark wood and handmade plaster details. And the children each had their own secret playrooms up in the attic. Definitely worth seeing. Dont pass this up. Its very inexpensive too. I did a double tour, and it was only $15.
