Deep waters. Beautiful fish. Nice beach. Watch out for undercurrent and sudden drop offs if your swimming is average or below. Wind break around the south, east, and west shorelines.

Great place to take the kids fishing that allows them to catch. There are lots of small fish that bite quickly. Funny entertainment for everyone. You can also canoe, kayak and swim in the water. During the winter there is ice fishing. Please note that you need a Trout license to fish here.

Great Park. I wish the beach area against the water was larger. You cannot bring your dogs to the beach section. There is a cute little park for kids to play. There are hidden trails over by the boat launch in the woods that are perfect for you to take your dog off leash. However, it is really close to the main road so be aware of this if you are going to take your dog off leash.

This is such an amazing FREE area for kids and adults to enjoy. The beach is perfect in the summer time for swimming and keeping cool on hot days. I do wish there was some natural shade on the sand. The playground is fun for my kiddos to play on and it is fun to fish off the dock. The best part is it is pretty clean for how many people come through each day.

Review №35

Not the best playground area for littler ones. And older kids kind of just take over the place any way, the one thing about summer vacation I could live without. Plus the security guy on staff in the beach area is a joke, he /she was just locked in that little office area not caring about the drinking and smoking I witnessed all over the beach. Crude loud music was being played and a lot of beer bottles littered. The only part I enjoy are the wonderful people that work at the water park area. Great staff and fun for everyone!

Its picturesque in its own way, being one of the largest lakes in Olmsted County (albeit man-made). A popular place for swimming, fishing and picnic fun - all local to Rochester.

Ill give them 2 stars for effort. The changing room was poorly lit and kind of scary, the showers had long since been removed it looked like maybe it was nice 20 years ago but they just gave up on it sometime awhile back. The grass leading to the beach was muddy and smelled horrible, and the beach itself was sloppy and muddy and not really worth going to. The kicker was that apparently there was a blue-green algae issue and the water was toxic, but the signs they put up to notify the public were really small and didnt really explain the issue or the risk of swimming in a lake with us greens algae in the water. Seems like they probably should have just closed the swimming area, and at the very least should have had more prominent signs. Wont be back here again.

What a great find as we were here for the day. Beach area is wide and clean, water was warm enough for an 83 degree day. Bath house there to change if needed and it is all free. Sand volleyball court, too. They also have an inflatable Waterpark that is $15 for one hour and then $5 more if you decide to stay longer. My two kids (10 and 8) had an absolute blast for 2 hours. 2 big slides, a fun swing, 3 structures to jump in off of (varying heights) and lots of other stuff, too. They provide a life jacket for you. This was a 9.5 out of 10 on my 8 year old’s fun meter!!

Best place to go swimming. There is NO lifeguard, which is a con of the place. However if you swim right along with your little ones, it is a fun place to build sand castles and enjoy swimming. Another thing that does sucks is their bathroom area. It is dark, and dirty with poor lighting, but you also get to swim for free....so you cant be too picky I guess.

Foster is great when the beach isnt covered in goose poop. There have been multiple times I have gone with my kids and it was everywhere.I couldnt believe they would open it with out cleaning it up first. It is a health hazard and just plain disgusting. The lazy security guards need to get off their butts and clean up or at least call the maintenance people and have them clean it up. Our tax dollars at work!
