I love this park. My husband and I have been bringing our girls here for years. My favorite place to walk in Richmond.

Its a beautiful park with several beautiful, scenic areas that are great for walking or maybe a picnic. The VITA trail is one mile and has different fitness stations along the way. It is a scenic trail with even terrain. I enjoy taking my son out on the trail in his stroller. Also whats nice about the park is it is surrounded by some beautiful lakes. Fountain Lake is very pretty. It is a half mile around and has benches all along the perimeter in case you just want to sit and take in the scenery. Also, Fountain Lake is the only spot in the area that I have found that has a building with restrooms. Swan Lake is stunning, but the sidewalk does tend to be dirty on account of the birds. Definitely worth visiting though. Swan Lake is serene. Byrd Park also has other neat areas to visit, such as the Virginia War Memorial and the Dogwood Dell Amphitheater (which I believe hosts concerts during the summer). Overall, I am a huge fan of Byrd Park. It is family friendly, great for walks, playing, or just sitting and taking in the beautiful scenery!

I love this historic park and chose it to take pics for my website where I have my paintings for sale. It has great walking trails and is the best spot for lunch.

I recently discovered the vita course here and its a 3.8 mile return trip from my front door. Great power walk and fitness trail for anyone to go at their own pace. A wonderful find.

The best park to walk in the morning

I always have a great time going here. However I would like to complain that the people that go here feed the ducks & geese bread....which youre not supposed to do, its bad for their health. Other than that, its very spacious and I go here every week.

Good park for walking or running. 1 lap around is a little over a mile. Some shade, some sun but nice mixture.

This is always on the list of places to go. My kids and even my dog loves going here to feed the geese birds and ducks. I enjoy the scene its so bright and beautiful even on rainy days. Definitely a great place to be if you want fresh atmosphere.

I love the walking/running trail as well as the great environment it offers. Really like all if the extras you can do to exercise while youre walking the trail.

Could be/used too be better upkeep went out there this past weekend and it was pretty rundown looking,the water looked like a toxic dump the ducks could barely swim threw the thick green sludge smh... yeah pretty disgusting!

Expansive old city park with trails, picnic areas, lakes, a tall colonial bell tower complete with a large, vintage carillon and much lush green space.

Just a picturesque place that is great for taking a walk. Watch out for the geese which leave quite the piles wherever they go .

I love walking here, great location and the track has alot of perks.

Nice park for a run, or play disc golf. Also has many soccer fields, which on weekends are often in use.

Love Byrd Park. How can you not? The dog park seems like it would be really great if my dog wasnt such a bully to other dogs, and access to the North Bank Trail and the hiking/biking trails in Dogwood Dell is excellent. Also enjoy the running trail inside Byrd Park if I need to know exactly how long Im going to be running for. Watch out for spawning gnats during the spring! The clouds of them around the lake can get pretty intense.

Arts in the park- truly wonderful yearly event. Something for everyone.Only thing that is offending to me is the food vendors that put out signs that say - please tip my boss is cheap! This sign is at multiple food vendors so must be owned by same person. What an awful thing to say about your boss much less a place your buying food from that may not be that friendly and you dont want to tip.

Before moving away from RVA, my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed visiting Byrd Park; it provided a relaxing place for us to sit during cool evenings and watch the sunset. It was on occasion be a busy place, but on most days was slow in reference to sidewalk traffic.The image I posted of Byrd Park was during the solar eclipse. The eclipse created a real-time filter, the image is untouched!

Byrd Park is nice because its both quaint and at times lively depending on the time of year. In the summer there are usually festivals and programs going on. Nice for a family day of fun, couple date night, or a different scenery for exercising.

Great place. Athens to use an update. Also wish to do something with the wanted to remove the scum. Lots of ducks bring something for the kids to feed them its a wonderful experience. You give me a paddle boat on the lake and the lake has a spot to get food. The food is always good and the price is right.

Worst bathroom ever

Park is nice if they keep the grass cut all around including hills...so u can workout with out worrying about something jumping out at youUpdate2/20/2019Not sure whats happening but the park is now tore up from the floor up just in time for training season smh thanks!!

I love the walking trails

Gorgeous trees, birds of all sorts, well-maintained grass yards, exercise stops, all in all very pleasant park to visit for a quick walk or jog.

Good place to walk

This is a nice place to take a walk or exercise on the workout trail there. There can be lots of geese and ducks depending on the season. There are several areas to this park and it is in close proximity to a couple of other parks.

The park is great if you want to bike around. The tennis courts are kept in great shape. You can also rent pedal boats and go around the lake and fountain. There is a lot of dog poop in the grass everywhere (thanks to people not picking up after their pets).

Love the Dog Park! Just be ready for your dog to have fun and probably get real dirty!!
