Fun walk, was difficult staying on right path so can be strenuous if you get on wrong pathway, which is very easy to do.

Trails could be muddy, other than that we took ourselves and three kids up, ages 7 and under. They made it all the way up no problems. There are several branches and difficulties. The easiest gave us a fantastic view. Bring bugspray and sunscreen.

Great hike! Beautiful views. We had a 10 and 6 with us, and they did great. We took Therapist trail up and Pretty Vulture on the way back. Vulture was a lot of switch backs but beautiful scenery.

Really chill hike. clean. great view. Took a drone up there and saw some amazing things. 4 trails to pick from, starting at easy enough for anyone and going up to the advanced levels for anyone looking to get a workout in.

The Trail is well marked and not difficult. Beautiful sights and enough twists, turns and inclines to keep the hike interesting. Good for an easy hike thats only a couple of miles long.

I did the Buzzard Loop. Its about 2.75 miles with moderate up and down hill. The hike is mostly through forest with a spectacular view from the lookout at the end. There is parking just off the highway, but be warned this is a popular hike and the lot fills up fast.Couple of things to note: this is a mountain biking trail, not a hiking trail. I hiked, but be warned that trail markings are spotty at times and theres lots of side paths. There are maps at the start and midpoints, but theyre not very useful. The lookout has a trail marker pointing to it, so keep an eye out for it on the trail. Theres a big cliff at the lookout, so be careful you dont fall.Overall, highly recommended.

Great hike. There are several trails to take as well and while the entire area is set up to accommodate mountain bikers of varying skill and proficiency levels the entire area is not exclusionary to hikers. The actual Buzzard Roost has amazing views of the southern and western Black Hills as well. The trail can be fairly strenuous depending on the route you take and due it its exposure sunscreen and hydration options are definitely necessary. It would be pretty easy to spend half a day hiking the canyons rim, the roost and back through the gulch.

I bet this would be a beautiful hike...if my family and I were expert hikers. Easy and moderate trails not so good. If you want to step in dog this is the place for you.

Great place for a hike with kids or pets, decent place to go mountain biking. The roost is an amazing high point with a view that spans many miles -- you can pick out many of the other famous peaks in the Black Hills from the overlook. Enough mileage and trail diversity to keep you entertained for at least a couple of hours on a mountain bike.

This was a good hike, but wish we would have waited. I would recommend taking this trail after May. It was still quite muddy and snowy, which was fine for adults. Kids didnt enjoy it as much, because it was difficult for them with the conditions for first 1/2 mile. Would have been amazing trail and scenery st the right time of year. We went early April.
