Hi folks, the currently displayed address is way off. Ive suggested an edit to the correct location in Forest Park three times, but the edits are not being approved by Google. This trailhead is not in town or on 2nd avenue.
Good place to start a hike with a decent amount of parking available. There are several trails that you can branch off into for different lengths. The firelane section is fairly flat, but if you circle back the shortest way the trillium trail is medium steepness, though short.
Very nice secluded trail with possibility to take a hard trail route downhill to St Johns or multiple other easier routes
Was a good trail that has its part that can be slippery/muddy, but it’s a good trail!
Absolute hidden treasure! First trip to Portland and wanted to get out for a hike. This trail is so close but when you get there you feel so far away from everything. The trees and ground brush are amazing and the air is so refreshing. The trail is in pristine condition. Kudos to the Portland Forest Service.
I love taking my dog trail running here! Even on a saturday morning, youre not going to find a ton of people on the trail. Probably because it gets pretty hilly in some spots
Has two choices of routes at the start, and several subsequent branches. Springville Road itself crosses both the Wildwood and Lief Erikson before terminating bear the St John’s Bridge. The other branch, fire lane seven has several options including: Trillium Trail, Hardesty Trail, fire lane 7A, and the ridge trail.Hardesty ends up at Leif Erickson after crossing the Wildwood. Ridge crosses the Wildwood and Leif Erickson continues down to Saint Johns Bridge area. Trillium ends up at the Wildwood, add it is not in the best condition for hiking. Fire lane 7A ends at the Wildwood. Fire lane seven becomes the oil line trail and continues down to Leif Erickson. As a result, there are many loops that can be done without retracing one’s steps. It is easy to do a loop of anywhere from 4 to 7 miles
This is a great hike but it can get muddy and slippery so be careful,
Beautiful, peaceful, and big park. Tons of long trails with a good variation of elevation gains. The trails are pretty well maintained and parking is usually not an issue. I go here for trail running once a week!
Very nice moderate to difficult hike. I went five miles and took in the Firelane 7, Wildwood, and Trillium. About 750 ft. Elevation gain total.
Beautiful trails close to Springville Rd. Mix of easy and moderate incline.
One of my favorite access points into Forrest Park. Its on a gravel road with a small turn-around parking lot near the gate. Parking gets sparse on nice days after early morning and the area is heavily trafficked by trail runners.
Beautiful trail with very low traffic. You can make a loop of it by going down Springville road and making a right on the Wildwood trail. You can come back up via Hardesy, Ridge, 7A oil line, Firelane 7, or Trillium trail, depending on how far you want to go (2-5 miles?).
A good access point to the Wildwood, hardesty, and other trails.
Great place to start from. There are five different trails off of it.
Easy trail, wide path and very dog friendly.
Wide (fire lane) trail with offshoots to the single path trails. Muddy in the spring when i went but still lovely
Almost as good as Firelane 15!
Beautiful trail for the family to enjoy together!
Good way to get into forest park, some parking
Good workout especially after walking a few miles.
We love this walk
Great trail for a run or training.
We loved it!
Its the best of the firelanes, for sure
