Great park! 2 different sections, one side is for younger kids/toddlers and other is for older kids. Clean & large. Has bathrooms by buildings.

Such a gorgeous park! There are so many things to do for all ages. Skate ramps, two different playgrounds, gazebo, multiple picnic areas, dog park, clean restrooms. Would definitely recommend for anyone:)

It has a great dog park, separated into big dogs and small dogs. Theres also a great playground for kids near the dog park. Theres at least one more little playground. There are picnic/shelter areas for parties and one or more halls that can be rented out for events. The whole park is beautiful and has plenty of hills and space to run around.

Good for sledding in the winter time. Parking lot was plowed and hill was good to go. Kids loved it. And best of all its free.

I like this park, but what keeps it from having more stars is that the little kids playground is too high off the ground. I wish we had something more toddler friendly in Portage. Also, every time I go here there are parents leaning against the play equipment and smoking.The trail through the woods is great though. Short, but I like the information stops along it.

Great place to exercise your best friend. Two sides. One for large dogs and one for smaller. Drinking fountain for your dog and you. Clean up bags are provided. Meet up with other dog owners.

This place is so excellent. Perfect place for weddings, fantastic parties, meetings, conversations, and more. It is even better because inside you can not hear anything going on outside. Train sounds do not get in and all you hear is everything going on inside.

Nice big park and dog park. We come here often. Wish there was more security or staff members to watch the way-too-old kids with their smart and profane mouths and escort them out.

In the early 1990s, before I bought a house in Merrillville, I lived at Park Place Apts., which butted up against Woodland Park. 1st of all, if you like an almost deep woods atmosphere, Woodland Park is the place to go! When I lived at Park Place, the kids(now adults, with their own kids!) and my best friend & her kids, would get all bundled up in snowsuit & walk over to Woodland Park. They have an awesome snow sledding hill!! Then, when we got pooped, wed walk but to my apt. get out of our wet clothes, rest & make hot cocoa, & watch funny movies!! Woodland Park, did all that to help build wonderful memories!! Now its 2019!! Im back in Portage. Married w/Grandchildren! Guess where I take them? Yep! More Woodland Park memory building activities for the next generation!! AWESOME!! So are the car shows & music bands!! THANKYOU TO ALL RESPONSIBLE FOR A WONDERFUL PLACE TO GO WITH THE WHOLE FAMILY!!(& I didnt even talk about the INDOOR activities available!!)

Not the best park i like

I love the dog park. I really hate that there are no pedestrian safe paths to the park. Neither Willowcreek nor Old Porter have continuous sidewalks off the park property. I also think the park could use more waste bins, just based on the amount of trash I see on WillowCreek.The dog park and playground are great. The community center is fine, though theres never anything advertising upcoming events, unlike the newer Founders Square park.

Great dog park! Just make sure you register your dog with Portage (which can be done online) The dog park is broken down into 2 sections. One is for large dogs and the other for small dogs. Most owners are great but like any park, youll find a few problem dogs and owners. For the most part, its a great way for my dog to run around without being leashed.

We attended a graduation there yesterday. The park was full of undesirables. There was absolutely no phone reception whatsoever. It was like we were in the Twilight Zone or something. I have never lost reception on my phone anywhere the United States. Absolutely no one at the graduation event had phone reception. We actually cannot believe that the event was held At such a low quality and unkept facility. The people that gathered in this area of Portage look like they were fresh off of a Jerry Springer show. I will never again Visit the town Of Portage let alone Woodland Park.

We live close by so I can easily walk my son here on the sidewalk. A decent amount of parking in front of the playground, skate park and dog park. This place has it all! Even pavilions you can rent out for gatherings.

Attended a frag swap here (reef aquarium hobby). The place is easy to find and very well suited for exhibits. The grounds are very nice also and invited a walk when we were finished at the show. Id readily come here again for another show or consider renting it for something similar.

The venue and park are very nice. But finding it was extremely difficult even with the GPS. Several people got lost. Asking a policeman didnt help because he said there are at least three Willow Creek Roads in the area. So leave with plenty of time.

Woodland park is a good place with two differents areas of playgrounds, one for the little kids, and the other for the olders. Is big with a huge picnic area with cabins, picnic tables and restrooms. For the pets they had a special pet park. Definitely a good choice for a fun day with the kids outside.
