First time ever going here.. close to my brothers house. It was pretty nice, but also packed. Clear water. Everyone respected the space. Kids played and enjoyed the water. A nice place for the entire family.The kids even met a few little fish friends!

After the storm, there was hardly anyone there. It was relaxing to sit in the sand to enjoy the sunset without having to wear a mask. The water was comfortable. The lake is small enough to swim the whole length. Unfortunately, they do allow motor boats so it may not stay as pristine.

Its always a fun place to just go put my chair in the non swimming area and get some sun...

Quite, neat and peaceful location at the time we were there.

Wouldnt go out of my way to hang out here.We tend to stop and let the dogs swim and the kid play in the sand. They love it but Id rather go to Devils Lake, Parfrays Glen or Pewits Nest. Worth the stop if youre nearby though

It very nice, I think its a pretty decent size, just wish they would turn on the water so we could rinse our feet.

Its small but big . So I was there with two friends and it was nice that the kids stayed in one area so the adults with no kids could swim they also have a clean beach. Just remember if your going to the beach your sun block needs to be 75 or better if its a really hot day and bring a t-shirt to were in the water so you dont get burned to bad. I wish I had.

Silver Lake, at Portage, Wisconsin is a fine place to cool off and have fun on a warm day!A pretty little sandy beach and boat pier surround a portion of this small lake. Fishing is good - from small enough for bait, to large enough for a meal.Public toilets, childrens playground, and shaded picnic tables are conveniently located on a grassy hill overlooking the water. Also, there is a large, well-maintained, free parking lot just steps from the shore.

This little beach is a gem in Portage. If you are staying in the area its a really great place to come and enjoy the beach with kids. Lifeguard on duty. Fishing pier. Boat launch. Snacks and gazebo.

Not a bad beach at all. The water is cleaner than what most locals will tell you. Nice new park equipment on top of the hill. Now why I rate three out of five stars is this, there is a very small parking lot, small roped in beach area, only one pavillion also small in size. You cant have any alcohol (or food if I remember correctly) in the roped in section of the beach. If you venture out too far you will start to feel all the seaweed from the bottom of the lake touch your feet, which can potentially cause you to become entangled. The beach is packed all summer long which makes it very uncomfortable if someone has unruly children or themselves are having a bad day. They took the fence out from the upper playground but made the speed limit 15 mph and added two speed bumps. This after the death of a child from drowning, this is the second case I know of happening in my life time. Think we should worry less about the speed limit, left the fence up and maybe added some more lifeguards?

Very pretty lake with a small beach. Enjoy swimming, wading, fishing, & boating, or just sit & take in the view.During summer, I like to sit on the short stone wall, dangling my feet in the water.

Love it here, my children and I frequently swim here. I would like to say that it does sadden me how much people litter at such a beautiful place. I also was upset last week when people were walking their poorly trained dog back and forth inside the beach area where dogs are prohibited. There needs to be immediate enforcement with things like this. Visitors to this beautiful place just need to be responsible!

It was a very nice white sand beach not a big lake it does get deep I beileve like 48 feet it was a very pleasant excpierence I would recommend very good size for a Kayak nice facilities

Awesome little Beach for the Family! We come here every year and their building a new play ground for the kids.

Love this little beach. Its staffed with lifeguards in the afternoon, kept very clean, has changing rooms, and a little concession stand.

Not great for shorefishing, probably because of the dozen people taking bluegills out Everytime you go. You might have a chance at bowfin. Good luck

The water stinks and if you dig deep enough in the sand you will find garbage. I think its a old dump or something. Dont recommend swimming here.
