I go practice fishing whenever I can. Really short distance from just about anywhere in Port Washington. Multiple entrance, and when the river is low, the rocky outlines on the bank can make swimming holes. But do make sure you stick to the trail, for once you stray, you may find yourself on private property. Riddled with deer trails, so make sure you distinguish what is, and isnt a walking trail. Trout is stocked at the mouth annually. Would come again and again, for as long as possible.

This place brings me peace. I love visiting in mid to late June for the little meadow of purple flowers near the entrance, tucked back by that little foundation. Wonderful place.

Port’s hidden gem. When not overtaken by fisherman from IL, this is an awesome place to walk. Quick .5-1.5 mile loops.

I love the tranquility of the river and the beautiful wildlife and native flowers. This for me is the best place to relax in Port Washington.

Hidden in plain sight, the Sauk Creek Nature Preserve has decent paths, a beautiful creek, and a surprising variety of birds (Blue Herons, Cardinals, Indigo Buntings...).

This small beautiful natural area is a favorite place of mine. Tucked in the edge of Port Washington its tiver has a waterfall, a bridge, and trail. Be careful not to step off the trail because theres poison ivy in some areas,

Great black raspberries! But, yes, a polluted creek indeed and in my opinion only the second best nature area in town overshadowed by the Birchwood Hills and Valley Creek.
