Its a beautiful park on Lake Michigan, very & clean & well kept up with plenty of room for fishing. If fishing isnt your thing they have several walking paths & a large grass area where you can play yard games, throw a football around, or fly a kite.Restaurants & shopping are within walking distance. Its a perfect place to pack a picnic lunch, bring a blanket (folding chair) and enjoy the incredible scenery & Lake Michigan.I love it!!!
Scenic. Accessible handicap parking. A nice coffee hut here would be great hint hint
Beautiful setting, had family outdoor wedding at lakefront Saturday afternoon, social distancing not a problem. :-)
Nice open area park on the lake. Several restaurants with interesting menu items & outdoor seating.
Port Washington in general is one of my favorite places on this Earth so Coal Dock Park is as well. The views are fantastic-both out to the Lake as well as looking back at the City. There are various wooden platforms where you can gaze out over the lake, watch the waves, enjoy the scenery. Well worth the walk involved.
Great park! Nice views.
Nice place to stop for lunch.
I love the place but the bathrooms need to improve!!!
Beautiful park with plenty of space to walk or have a picnic. It’s awesome watching boats come in and out in the summer or to go watch waves crash into the break wall when the wind is blowing hard. The only downfall is parking is very limited in the park for how big the space is bolt there’s plenty of parking area it.
Beautiful park clean with nice paths to walk and grass for the kids to play
Very nice park! Lots of shoreline and fantastic views!
It is so nice to walk around the park to enjoy the beautiful lake shore.
My thighs hurt ... its good for walking if ur into that.
Very nice. Benches with view to make
Beautiful area with wide walkways and plenty of places to sit.
Awesome little park to walk around, and the cute lighthouse makes it even better. This whole area of Port Washington is gorgeous. I strongly recommend checking it out if you get the chance!
Nice city park, a great place to have lunch. Has a short lighthouse, with stairs, you can climb to get a good panoramic view. Also has a memorial to those that lost their lives to the lake, veterans memorial, and a couple historical markers. One pull-through parking spot is available for those pulling trailers (30 camper wasnt a problem)
Pretty cool spot. There is a pier nearby. Bird refuge walk area and access to the beach. Literally a park next to a Coal Powerplant. Cool never the less. Sit next to the water.
Beautiful park, well maintained, Feels great to walk around this place and a great view of Lake Michigan.
Love coming here on a Saturday afternoon. Ride bikes up from Cedarburg and hang out by the lake for the day! Nice walk out to the lighthouse.
One of the coolest park on the bank of lake Michigan. Not over crowded. If you like calm and quiet place, this is the one you can consider. Boating, fishing options are there with a little beach!
A very nice little park on the lakeshore in Port Washington. When you walk around it you can marvel at the fact that the whole area was once a huge mountain of coal. The coal fuelled the massive power plant that is still there, and which has since switched to natural gas. Quite the transformation for the better!!This park is very picturesque; you can walk around the park on the paved path, or you can walk over the bridge and follow the dirt path to South Beach. It is often windy there, the open space lends itself nicely to kite flying.Coal Dock Park is walking distance from downtown Port and is close to cafes, bars, and restaurants.
It was a great place to visit
Fantastic, beautiful and scenic. Great breeze and fantastic photo takes. The wind and sun and water makes for an outstanding place to be not to mention fishing.
A fantastic environment with live music and food trucks! Highly recommend!
Beautiful!
Excellent place for a casual stroll. Beautiful scenery and atmosphere. I have to stop here whenever Im in Port Washington.
Great place fine views
Always a beautiful park. Nice area to gather with friends and family. Its quiet away form the city, but close buy if you forgot something or would like to grab lunch first. The fishing from the park walls can be very good as well. This is also the park where the pirate days is held as is the blues festival the city holds.
One of my favorite places to go with family. Good place for kids.
Fun place to visit. Great views.
It was a beautiful day and the Coal Dock park is a good place to start our walk for the day! An inspiring time by the WW 2 Wisconsin veterans memorial. We remember those who serve in our military and give thanks! Then on to the lake side as we continue our walk enjoying the views that are always changing and never the same!
Beautiful park with stunning views of Lake Michigan, downtown Port Washington, the harbor, the lighthouse, breakwater walls, etc. The park is spectacularly maintained. There is a ramp access raised wood boardwalk with benches over a wildflower area that also offers amazing views. The gazebo with a winding staircase to a 360 degree view lookout of the entire park is finished and the lookout is lit at night with color changing LED lighting. Bat houses were installed on the perimeter of the park to help control insects this year. Access to the bird sanctuary and path to South Beach via the bridge by WE Energies. Kayaks and other small non-motorized crafts can be easily launched from South Beach.
Great place for a walk. Plenty of parking and seasonal out houses. Closed sun down to sun rise.
At first it doesnt look like anything special, but it is actually quite a long and a nice walk
Dont let the name discourage you. It really is a nice Port Washington Park on the Lake Michigan shoreline.
Beautiful use of land and great for a walk with the family. Enjoy watching the fishermen and seeing the Dennis Sullivan docked during summer.
Lots going on. Watched fishermen and boats in the marina. Clean and great views.
Nice park
Beautiful scenery
My favorite place to get away. I love the lighthouse, the waves, the breeze, I go here to fish and ponder life.
Bring the kids youll love it
Beautiful small town on the lake less than an hour north of Milwaukee. Refreshing autumn getaway without the crowds typical of Door County. Easy walk to restaurants & bars as well as wooded trails. Main draw seems to be fishing but plenty enjoyable without.
Coal dock park....Port Washington Wi....is Absolutely beautiful
Beautiful park with awesome lake views. Parking is available; there are a lot of people there on the weekends, but still pretty enjoyable
Always great place to visit and watch the Sunrise.
The view is unbeatable
Have only been here to attend a music festival. Nice setting for music, except very, very short on parking. A venue like this that has the potential to draw thousands of people needs to have better parking options. Free shuttles are available, but when the weather turns nasty, its nice to have your vehicle nearby.
Wonderful views! As a kid, there was always so much to explore. Coming back here now makes me happy. A great place to spend time when the weather is nice.
Beautiful views, peaceful, comfortable.
Love this place beautiful views
Beautiful park within walking distance of the Port Washington business district and Marina. Extensive built-up wooden walkways and overlooks insure wonderful views and access. Parking is close and easy, and all wheelchair accessible.
Its beautiful here, the air is fresh and they have a really good breakfast roll at the dock deli
Many paths to walk and one lead to the south beach.
Nice serene place, beautiful view.
Awesome place to fish, and look at the water.
Very user-friendly nice clean Park. I wish back home that are river fronts were half as beautiful
Easy fishing easy parking excellent scenery
Its very pretty scenery
Just love being by the lake and being able to relax with my family and puppy
Great place to enjoy a sunny afternoon... possibly some fishing.
Amazing and war memorial too. The Faux smokestacks is a mice reminder of what Port was.
No parking seems it was a good idea gone bad. Designed by a five year old child and built by a six year old. As stupid as destroying the lakefront with those monsters of crappy built buildings.
Got up to watch the sunrise. This park will make you forget whatever you’re thinking about.
A great place to relax after a tiring day
Loved the benches to be able to sit in different spots, the serenity of being by the water, watching seagulls trying to grab their supper, the boats coming and going through the port, the immaculate lawn, and opportunity to fish if you like.
Nice place to relax. Nice views, public fishing, biking, walking, boat docks, parking can be hard at times.
Cool place
Awesome
It is so nice here, You can sit, or walk and watch everyone pull in the fish. And the veiw of the lake is so pretty.
Some of the best memories of my life.. Makes you forget you are in Wisconsin and makes you believe you are in a true pacific paradise.
It doesnt get any better .
Still has a quaint harbor town feel. However as multistory condos go up, the price of water front real estate may change that very soon.
Look for the Annual Paramount Music Festival here! The park has a fantastically open feel with it being along Lake Michigan!
Beautiful area
Very nice walking trail along the waterfront.
Nice place to fish. Why take away outhouses for winter?
Beautiful and serene.
Wide open area with spectacular views of the Lake and marina with Port Washington as a backdrop. Especially picturesque when storms move through.
Great open space for events or walking around. See people fishing, watch boats come and go from the harbor, or walk along the lakefront.
Great views of Lake Michigan, large open area to walk around.
Nice views and good food
