A wonderful place to learn about some of the history of Idaho. Always changing exhibits so if you go once you have to go back to see what is new. This museum supports much more then just a walk through museum. They are in the community teaching. They have the most extensive storage of artifacts safely stored for research and future use. The Team of People here are plain AMAZING! Very knowledgeable. Supporting our local resources like this is a good thing. :-)
Great little museum! Loved the exhibits! Great afternoon activity with my family while visiting my daughter at ISU!!️
It was cool but there wasnt much to see and for the price of admission Id say it wasnt worth it. We walked through, even stopped and read about all of the exhibits, in about 15 minutes. They had some pretty cool exhibits and the staff were nice, only negative thing was high entry price.
The shark was fascinating, didnt realize how small this museum actually was though. The displays there are worth seeing, but it only takes 15 minutes to go through!
I feel $3 a person would be fair. If you go with kids- be sure they want to stand by your side while you read.. the majority of the ‘museum’ is reading. A prior post read as 30 minutes- we were back at entrance in 15. Kids’ prize was as wasteful as a straw in California or a grocery bag in the ocean. Save your money for Bozeman, MT’s actual museum...
These guys do a great job setting up beautiful displays & my kids love the hands on play room for the kiddos.
I took my son here for the Harry Potter day there are so many fun activities it was well organized and the students were very insightful I also found out that they do activities here twice-monthly for the public and young children I never knew this before I look forward to bringing my kids in the future for more activities and supporting what they are doing for our community
Im sorry, but this is a very sad museum. Theres not much here. The price is definitely too high for this tiny place. Its one large room, one small room, and then there is a small classroom. It really should be a free museum with donations encouraged. I wish Id known how much it was not worth it before I paid. I love Pocatello and ISU, so when we visited from out of town I thought it would be fun to visit some local spots with our kids. Was pretty disappointed with the current state of this museum, unfortunately.
What they had on display was fun and interesting to learn, however it is very small. 3 rooms of exhibits... dinosaurs, exploration room and fire history. That was it. Not even 1/1000th what their website boasted they had. When I asked, I was informed the website is talking about their private collection, not their public display. Had I know that, I would have saved my time and money.
Great place to visit. Very interesting and informative. Great staff. Loved the exhibit.
This has always been a great museum. They constantly work to improve the exhibits and make it interesting. I would go here weekly as a kid and loved it every time. If youve never been before, its definitely worth the visit.
Very small, but pretty neat exhibits. My son LOVED their Be The Astronaut exhibit!
Nice and interesting. Great staff. Cool exhibits. Well recommended.
Kind of small but I guess the kids liked it ok.
Wonderful learning experience for me and my children. Great, kind staff.
Staff was nice. The museum doesnt have very much and for the price of entry it wasnt really worth it. Alot of the stuff in the kids room wasnt working. We didnt stay very long.
Great place to learn--at any age!
We love going here! Great for all ages!
My family spent a fun sunday afternoon at the museum enjoying the space, horse and shark exhibit. Cant wait to come back and see the new displays.
Very disappointed. After paying $5 per ticket our family expected to see everything about Idaho Natural History and Geology but instead a third of the museum was devoted to wild fire safety and the rest was primarily about Dinosaurs (not something Idaho is know for). The dinosaur simulator was very cool but I kept getting a loser Triceratops dinosaur to run through the Cretaceous period with and when I tried to join the other triceratops I kept getting gored . My son got to strut through the Cretaceous with a T-Rex and got to kill, eat and poop out a lot of things. Where are all the Indian artifacts, the archaeological dig exhibits, gemstones, research projects, Oregon trail artifacts etc. etc... When we circled back to the gift shop I was looking for more floors but was told there are none.. I tried to salvage the visit and purchase flint napping video by Crabtree from the gift shop but $50 was way out of my price range. Expect more from a university that is the undisputed leader in IDAHO natural history.
Kids enjoyed the museum, we all learned a few things
Its small but big in heart because those that work there really enjoy science
We had lots of fun learning
Not much of a museum. Certainly not worth the seven dollars admission.
Nice exhibit. Learned something new about fossils.
Super small. We were only able to kill about 20-30 minutes. Ive been to other natural history museums and they were much larger. The information there was nicely presented, but there wasnt much there.
Exhibits really go above and beyond, its just a small space. They only have a few exhibits that stay constant.
People working there were really nice and very helpful, I am surprised for the bad reviews, my kids loved the dinousars in motion exhibits. Thank You.
My son and I have really enjoyed the Shark Exhibit and have had the opportunity to go through on several occasions. I would highly recommend it to everyone (even if you dont have kiddos) before the event is over at the beginning of May!
Great exhibits showcasing the history of Idaho, and interactive fun for kids of all ages!
Great exhibits that really show wildlife from ancient Idaho.
Wow, way over advertised for Dinasour exhibits. Too pricey as you can only spend 20 minutes before begging to get out of the museum. If your coming for the dinosaurs, save your money and go to the zoo or something. If you want to know about Idaho wildfires, this will help ease the pain
Its all natural and full of Idahos history. Not a bad way to spend an afternoon.
Small museum, but very cool. The exhibits change from time to time. Lots of activities to engage the public/community.
Wished ther was more, kind of expensive for what they have to see.
For the price of entry there was not much to do we went threw in about 30 mins.
Very well advertised, they should put that money into the museum because it is Small, very pricey, and oh be VERY careful where you park. Or you get a parking ticket from the university. If I could do it again Id skip it.
They are so friendly and the exhibits are awesome.
Good for how small it is but there was some false statements made by the staff.
Nothing in it not worth the time
A great place for the entire family. Learn about Idahos natural history from prehistoric times to the present.
Brilliant, informative and beautiful.
Small but interesting museum.
A good place to visit injoyed very much
Great Place for learning!
Way too small for the price you pay, feels like a tourist trap. Go to the zoo instead.
Amazing for the space they have
Needs more exhibits .Cost to high for what there is
Nice museum
Awesome
Smaller than expected
Amazing
Excellent place for the family!
Excellent exhibits and friendly staff.
I hate Art
Great Family fun.
