Large open play high-quality table tennis area. They need a few more taller ball barriers and it would be perfect. Great staff.

This place is great! Nice redesign, all new equipment, its not as busy in the mornings as other rec centers are. It is pretty cold with the fans on and a/c, but I guess in summer it will be fine. Its missing and indoor track, but you have a lot of options with different cardio machine.

Affordable and easy to get in and out. Lack some equipment for more serious strength training but overall nice place to train. I dont use the classes and basketball courts.

I’ve been playing indoor volleyball there every week for about 4 years. I confess all people are playing there find likes family members each others and the crews who they are working there are our part of this family, too. They behave you kindly and do their best till you do your workouts in very safe place. One of this kindly crews is Larry who did his best his job and helped me a lot when I was injured during the game and helped me alot till I found him one of the kindest and nicest people there.

The recreation center was recently refurbished and is very nice. I particularly like how clean they have continued to keep the facility. I have an extreme allergy to dust mites. It’s not uncommon for me to have a major allergy attack if I work out on an elliptical or treadmill that has dust on it or if the gym is dusty. I haven’t had a single allergy attack since going here for the past 5-6 months at least 3x a week.

Plano Parks and Rec is a great value for Plano residents but always leave something to be desired in terms of weight rooms and post-renovation Liberty is no exception. It seems that the actual total amount of weight equipment has actually gone down with the renovation, but they added a power rack, which is greatly appreciated. However, the power rack is now the sole piece of equipment (excluding the Smith machine) for squat, bench, and incline bench. It wasnt very busy when I went today so it was fine but a second power rack would add a lot to the weight area, especially during busy times. Other than that, the free weights area is a bit small, but there are plenty of machines and cardio equipment, just wish there was a bit more for barbells.

Would be five stars if they had more than one squat/bench rack. Gets pretty busy in the afternoons.

I absolutely love this Rec center. The staff is always smiling. One of the few gyms Ive been to play basketball where the people dont take themselves too seriously. I always enjoy the time spent here. Definitely a 5 star experience every time. Also the gym equipment all works very well.

I was taken aback by the more than generous distance it was from the front entrance to the location of the staff. When the door opened I expected to be channeled to the reception area, instead of that, I took a couple of steps forward and right there (less then 3 ft from the entrance) was a unsecured door leading to a meeting room. Maybe it is just me, as I said, that surely wasnt what I expect in this day and age.

Clean facility. Nice staff. Don’t expect to use the gym after work, pretty much ever.During the week, the gym turns into a babysitting facility where middle and some high schoolers play the whole time until their parents pick them up.Other adults cannot enjoy shooting hoops or friendly pick up games because teenagers run wild, shooting hoops from basically cross court most days and scream and yell the whole time.I’m all for sharing but it would be nice if they had set hours for adults to use those facilities without teenage interference every single day.I stopped taking my own younger kids to the kids area because the teenagers were so foul mouthed and rude and my kids just wanted to go play and enjoy. We paid for a family membership but if you’re looking for a facility to enjoy all you pay for, this one isn’t it.Free neighborhood teen-sitting seems to be the priority at this location.

Ive been coming here regularly for a few years, mainly to use the weight room. Its smaller than Carpenter Rec Center, but definitely fewer people, so it works out nicely if you pick the right time (during busy times, everywhere is crowded).I like the weight machines a little better than the ones at Carpenter & Oak Pt (which is being renovated, so they may get different machines). Not a big deal, but after you get used to some machines, you just prefer using them.I also like the fact that they have small towels for use when you work out, thats a nice touch. The cardio room is a bit cramped, but I dont use that as much. Also, in the weight room, theres an outer room facing the sun, and that gets noticeably hotter in the summer, not sure why they cant balance the ac out better. Its mostly free weights in that section, which I dont use much, so it doesnt bother me as much, but it would be nice if they could fix that.

A pretty nice rec center and is a way better deal than a gym, especially if you like sports also. We went specifically because of the Plano Table Tennis Club that meets here on Saturdays but I can see a lot of other nice features this place would have for visitors.
