Its a great place! If you want to get out of the house and spend a day by the pool Splash Island is the place to go. I love this place if you just want to sit, swim laps, jump off the diving board, or hang in lazy river you can do a little bit of everything. #greatpool
They make the safety of babies and children priority. I love they have so many life guards always near by. Friendly & Helpful employees. My family and I definitely enjoyed ourselves.
This was a very enjoyable experience! Good for a couple hours worth of swimming, diving, going down slides, and taking a nap in the lazy river! If I have to nag on them for anything, its just one lifeguard who told us to stop messing with something we were allowed to mess with. But other than that and the fact that I got stuck in my tube down the river, looking like an overgrown mutant turtle flipped over on his back and being continually splashed by fountains and choking on his own spit, I would highly recommend.
Splash island has been the only pool near me thats open during the covid pandemic. Its a little bit of a drive but its not limiting the time you can swim to 2 hour increments like the Indy parks pools. And theyre also open on Monday which Indy parks pools arent for some reason. My boys love it.
The water park is amazing and its included in your membership to the rec center. Definitely would recommend
A very good spot for the whole family to have fun.
Love this facility. Run very well and always clean!!
The MOST FUNEST (not a real word but it applies here) pool in Indianapolis (oops Plainfield), everything u want in one location, slides, lazy river, kiddie pool and attractions, lap pool, diving boards, concession stand, clean locker and rest rooms and a very attentive lifeguard crew...what else can I say besidesd its the Shiznit!!! ️️️
Blake Fisher was a great employee. He was nice and fluffy!
We visited the indoor pool on a school day from noon-2. It was perfect for parents and young children(0-5). Plenty of moms with little ones but not crowded at all. The toddler curly water slide is great. So is the lazy river etc. Must be 48” to ride the big slide. We would go back in a heartbeat. Facility is immaculate, serious lifeguards - top quality. A huge weekend crowd would definitely ruin it for me though.
Called in and they claimed to be open with the indoor water park but they lied wasted gas going out here. Waste of time never going here again, false advertising
It was fun and didnt cost much.
Loved it! Planning a return trip
That was the worst trip!!! It took us a long time to find it! No one in the surrounding area knew any answers to our questions, and when we finally found it, it was closed!!!!!! We went on the last day they were open hoping to miss the big crowd since school started that day!!!! Online it said they were open but when we pulled up they were closed!!! The people working told us that they decided to close the park down a day early without notice!!! My kids had not started school yet so this was going to be quite a treat! Three hours of driving only to pull up to that!!!! Thank goodness the hotel in Avon was nice!!! Never again!
Was really fun but kinda of crowded!
The facility itself is nice. There was a noticeable lack of professional execution for procedures. While we were there was a pop up storm with some lightning. So, we were all instructed to go inside or get against the side of the building and given. The police officer there instructed people to make a clear path from the entrance inside, so people could easily flow. We moved over, but my husband did not realize that the stroller was still in the way. The police officer barked (sharp tone, raised voice) at my husband SIR, I ASKED YOU TO MAKE A CLEAR PATH The tone and raised voice was unacceptable, especially with children present and for such a minor offense, that my husband was not even aware of. We passed that officer a different time and he was using the same verbal force with another patron regarding an issue that did not seem that serious. The Splash Island Staff also did not seem to know what they were supposed to be doing in this pop up storm scenario. After a few minutes, a supervisor came out and they were instructed to make a line towards the building with their flotation devices, so people wouldnt cross. Then they had to be redirected to scatter as they were congregated in a group talking. The facilities were nice though.
I had a lot of fun, I highly recommend it. The water was super clean, they let you wear your glasses (with warning), the people were nice, they werent rude about breaking unknown rules (I went down the yellow slide on my belly, and they just told me not to do it again), it was built well, it was all very great.I have very small complaints. 1. There was an insane amount of chlorine, leaving my eyes burning horribly after ten seconds. 2.weird rules. I was sitting off to the side waiting for my friend to come out of the slide, and they made me exit the pool, nobody was going to hit me at the stairs, there was a wall. They didnt let me slide down the yellow slide on my belly. It was perfectly fine, I dont understand why. I would rate it 4.9if I could, I loved the experience. Highly recommended.
With all the negative comments, I just about took a pass on this attraction. The reviews are pure perspective I guess. The place is great. The staff is great, the Guards are great. No issues all fun. I’m glad I didn’t miss out on the fun because of the bad reviews!
Great place. Clean and friendly. The kids loved it too. But what’s up with the 10-15 minute breaks on the hour? Carmel & Greenwood don’t do it
Safe environment. Fun no matter if youre a spectator or in the water. Adults love the Lazy River...just float & relax! BYO snacks coolers welcomed - no alcohol- cold drinks only
This is my very first rating ever. If I could give this place a negative I would, when I got there the lines were not very long and they took FOREVER to move. I was standing in the sun for about 20-30 mins. As soon as I got in there they said they were going on break which is fine I understand everyone needs a break but they should of said that before we paid. Then as we were able to get back in the water they said it was thunder and lighting so everyone had to get out when it was sunny. I understand the precautions and getting out but if we are going to pay to stand I rather have not gone. Communication is the best way to great customer service!
It is a amazing place you can go in the winter and the summer
Pros- 3 waterslides (very fun), alot of pools, beach chairs, you can bring coolers and own umbrella. $11 adult, $9 kidsCons- its way to crowded. The wait for restroom was like 15 minutes. Beach chairs not in shade, They take 15 minute breaks every hour or so. ITS CROWDED...
I love the facility, the only drawback is how expensive everything is! Entry for a nonresident is $11, where as Mooresville’s pool is only five. The food at the snack bar is also pretty pricey with limited options whereas Mooresville’s again much more reasonable. But it’s always very clean and well-maintained!
I would give 0 stars if it was an option. I used to come here frequently when I was a teenager. Now having a family of my own (with a 3 year old) it was a warm day and the pool we normally go to (because it is way less crowded and less expensive) had already closed for the season so we tried Splash Island. The biggest part of the pool where the kids section was the water was so uncomfortably warm it was like a bath tub while the other parts with the diving board and lazy river were extremely cold, like they had just been filled with a water hose. The staff was extremely rude, especially the life guards. They did not allow the type of life jacket that my daughter had which she has used all summer and is the most comfortable with. The kind that straps around the chest and on the arms. It allows her to swim the way she is supposed to but because that device did not match their quality of safety standards she could not use it and instead had to use one of their life jackets that was dirty and falling apart. The water was disgusting and dirty. 3 out of the 5 of my family members that went ended up sick with a cold the very next day. My daughter ended up with HFMD a week later too (not saying it was from the pool but my guess is that it was). I will never spend money their again.
The rules are over kill. They have signs on the locker rooms saying no opposite gender children allowed in with parents. First bad sign. I was trying to get my toddler comfortable going down the kiddie slide and got scolded by a lifeguard saying one at a time Later we got in the lap lane to swim and was told to get out because there was another girl in the same lane, this other girl was standing against the wall for 5 minutes before we got in. Overall design is nice and clean but its hard to enjoy the place with the rules. You cant use puddle jumpers or goggles with a nose cover, why? Rules should at the very least make sense.
The ladies bathroom was filthy. No upkeep on the toilet paper. One stall the door does not lock, had to hold with my foot.I was shocked at how some of the teen girls & middle aged women were dressed. I thought that it is supposed to be a family place. Nothing classy about some of them.I was in from Chicago for a birthday party & had to pay $4. I clearly was dressed not to swim & if I was going to, I would not with the filth I saw.My parents live in Plainfield & are members there, my mother was disappointed at how the staff allowed these young girls (ladies) were dressed to swim there. My father thought there were rules on dress codes for the pool area. Apparently NOT.She almost dont want to go there & workout any longer, told her the ladies she is seeing probably are not allowed to dress as they were in the pool. Highly offensive. Not classy at all.
This is the worst set up ever! We just get in the lazy river after finally finding open seats on the opposite side and burn our feet getting there and they blow the whistle for a break... Why arent there enough staff members to relieve them if they need breaks ? There is absolutely no music and I was yelled at several times because my mind year old [with no wrist band] was farther than arms length away... It was a job to be walking on eggshells around lifeguards, having ZERO shaded seats available and a battle getting a tube in the river with the amount of people waiting.. Heaven for bid the break out the 20 exyra tubes sitting in the center. $53 was the biggest waste and ruined my birthday and my day off work .
I went to splash island for my friends birthday with her, one of our friends, and I. The first thing we did was go on the lazy river. We went the route where there are coconuts that fill with water and randomly fall. One of the life guards was holding one of the coconuts and filling it so it could PURPOSELY spill it on someone. I was one of the victims. I saw the guy do it and I said “Please no!” He did it anyways. I was freezing. Before we left I asked him why he did it because another lifeguard did it to me. He said it was a little thing he started that is passing around. Very rude. I told him I would write a review. He said I should because they like to read them and it’s funny. That makes it seem like his life guarding is a joke. Also he has a blonde buzz cut just for reference. Dissapointed.
Love this place so much I traveled an hour to take my granddaughter. Good for all ages. Price is very reasonable. Food is satisfactory and priced accordingly. Plenty of life guards. Very clean and neat. Weed free.
...outstanding!!! loved it!
Pretty good but needs a big pool
Indoor water is actually warm! Id pay extra for that. Reasonable pricing, especially as you get the use of the entire facility all day.Lifeguards are in constant motion and mean serious business, which I appreciate.Locker rooms large and pristine. Staff helpful and kind.We will definitely be back.
I haven’t even been but reading the reviews you see a certain “privilege” in people Hahahaha from reading the comments nothing to extreme is wrong so please stop complaining and take them kids to the pool
Would of gave zero stars but that wasnt an option. Very rude service and was harassed the whole time over a life jacket. No where was it posted about certain life jackets not approved there. They told me I had to use their life jacket. Their life jacket pushes him forward to where his face is in the water holding him there. I told him that and he says well yours does that too. It doesnt. My sons life jacket is coast guard approved, I tried telling him that. He is 2, they were okay with him not wearing a life jacket instead of wearing his coast guard approved life jacket. Ive never had such a bad experience anywhere like that, my son didnt get to have fun at all.
This place is cheap and affordable for everyone. The staff is very nice and not judgemental. Its great for summers, and wet Wednesdays are also very nice. If you dont want to spent time swimming, you can go inside and play basketball or lift weights and run.
Pleasant and affordable. Kind staff and plenty aquatic activities for all ages. Water slides, lazy river, and shaded areas to cool off. They even have a gym inside, basketball court, and ping pong.
I love this water park! They have both indoor and outdoor water parks here. Outside has 3 slides and a lazy river. The lazy can be cold at first but is perfectly refreshing on a hot day. There are even 2 diving boards so the kids can have some extra fun! The concessions are reasonably priced as well. My brother had a birthday party in one of the indoor party areas and it turned out to be a blast and all of his friends and the family were able to swim with us as well. If you havent visited this place yet, you should! Its fun for the whole family at a reasonable price.
Went there for memorial day so it was extremely over crowded. We got there at 12:45pm. Slides didnt open till 1:15pm. My kids were able to go down the slides one time. At around 1:30 they had to close down the slides, pool and everything because somebody dropped a load in the pool. Clean up took over an hour and a half. Then the guards went on their 15 minute break. Lines for the concession stand were extremely long also. They had a dipping Dots but it was also closed for no apparent reason. This place is probably okay on a weekday but when not over crowded.
My kids really enjoy there. i would like to go there on every weekend.its fun place for all age people.
It was very fun for my mom and I. The only problem was that we couldnt try out our new nose covered goggles. Otherwise we had a lot of fun!
I love the park and the lifeguards do a great job. However the park needs better rules that are enforced for children whos parents dont pay attention. Lots of unruly children in the 7-12 age group with NO parents in sight.
This place is awesome! The outdoor pool stays magicly clean and the indoor one has a lot of activities that you can do. Their parties are awesome too!!
We love this place! Beautiful, clean pools and splash areas for kids make this a perfect spot for a summer stay-cation in Plainfield! Usually quite busy during the summer months, but the indoor pool during the rest of the year isnt packed. The indoor pool area has a water slide, lazy river, lap pool, and shallow childrens play area with a playplace for splashy fun! There are also birthday party rooms which border the pool and offer a fun birthday experience!
Great place for all ages. Was very crowded, but my family still had a good time.
Im looking into going this week; its been a while but my family and I always enjoy ourselves!
Someone needs to educate the staff that puddle jumper life jackets are US Coast Guard approved life jackets and actually safer for small children than the life jackets this place provides. Puddle jumpers do a better job of keeping little ones upright. I can understand why arm floaties would not be allowed but a puddle jumper is both chest and arms and keeps toddlers heads above water. Please do some research and allow these devices.
Had an awesome time there with my husband and 8yr old daughter. Clean and the staff was very nice.
Pretty good you know keep it pimpi -Steve Harvey
Staff was super friendly and facility was great!
So I jumped in the pool when it was -6 And I huwt my bacc ):
There a rule no googles at cover you nose I over with this place.
Best water park in PLainfeild and they have life guards on duty
Fun place. :)
We were told my 4 year old couldnt wear his puddle jumper, which is 100% safe, but had to wear their life jacket. My kid almost drown twice with their vest on. We signed a waiver saying our kid is our responsibility so why cant be responsible to secure the life of our child? IF we come back, our kid will wear what is safe and if they kick us out, at least our kid will be alive.
I took my 4 year old grandson today. It was so crowded. People were bumping into each other, it was not fun and too pricey for what they offer. We will not return.
I have a question I got the membership until what time can I be in there
I dont get all of the negative reviews and comments?! This place is very nice, lifeguards are on point! Beautiful facility, lots of fun to be had at a really affordable price. We drove from Terre Haute on Labor Day weekend, and will definitely come back.
Had fun at Splash Island went with my sister patrician her job had there annual picnic
It was amazing great service loved it ️
Great summer vacation! Feels like a resort pool.
Went with family today! Awesome price for 4 people! Lots of seating! Felt very good that they have lots of lifeguards!! I wish they had maybe a 15-20 min adult swim only!!! The lazy river can get alittle crowded at some spots!! Other than that we had fun and will be back!!!!
The absolute worst Park in Indiana!!!’ Don’t waste your money. Outside close at 6 an every incident they put everybody out the pool. Place Sucks!!!!!!!
Its really fun
Horrible will not return. They let me and my brother go into the water by ourselves but we went inside and they locked us Inside. The employees laughed at us while they made sure we stayed in this 2x2 feet area
Awesome place. Indoor pool. Drop the kids at the indoor playland and work out.
Family friendly, clean environment and reasonable prices.
The water park was amazing. My kids had a blast
Great place for all ages! Staff is nice, facilities are clean.
The water was hot, not even cold. I ended up getting food poisoning from their food and my daughter broke out into a horrible rash while there. I took her up to the first aid area and all the did was give her a pack of ice. Ended up taking her to the urgent care and apparently she had an allergic reaction from something there and was put on an antibiotic in case. Its too insanely crowded. I even went on a Monday hoping it not to be and it was not even fun bc of how crowded and hot the pool was. And please do not eat the food. Im still sick as a dog.
Pretty cool place. Resonably priced for all that you can do. I went for the first time today and im definitely going back!
My family and I were very pleased and we are coming back and we are definitely spreading the good word about Splash Island.
Great place, but expensive. Lifeguards are really great and its VERY clean.
Congratulations splash island, you got me for $50 today! Thankfully, I have learned my lesson and will stick to water parks that have life guards that do more than look pretty, actually have dippin dots in the carts, more than 5 people working concession with over 4,000 people not to mention actually follow capacity laws oh and the water parks that dont make everyone get out for 15 min breaks that actually last 20-30 mins every hour with kids screaming because they want back in the pool that mommy paid to get in because she works over 60 hours a week ! You ruined my Sunday fun day with my son nephew and sister! Ugh people dont waste your money!
Kids loved it! Adults did too!! Food, lots of seating, shoppe on premises, life vests for kids were plentiful!
Clean, profeshional, well maintained . all around nice facility . will definitely be returning to this establishment .
I have Been there more than once and I cant wait till next time I go back the lazy river is amazing. There is so many other great aventurine there. Everything about it is great. They have everything a water park would need a diving area to a slide area. At the diving area the share an amazing pool that you can just swim in. It sounds weird there is so many aventurine things there you want some where you just want to swim.It is a fun and affordable water park of I were you and I live close enough take the day and go to Spalsh Island! If you are traveling around Indiana go in and have a blast. But if you are in Indiana and it is to cool to go swimming just go to the amazing in door pool. I havent been to the in door area yet but maybe one day I will. So get those swimming suit on and go to Splash Island !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
There was something for all of us to do
It was great but they should let people go down together on the yellow one.
This is a wonderful public resource, offering lots of family fun for very little money. Will be back again!
Depending on what day and time you go it can be a little over crowded but what do you expect from a Fun and Exciting Water Park in the Summer?
Very nice facility. Worth the price.
This pool has really gone down hill, there use to be a manager there his name was Nate, the place was spotless when he managed the pools and the lifeguards, the outside RESTROOMS are filthy walls and floors awful, and pools need cleaned, guards do not enforce lap swimming only, kids jumping in lap lanes and horsesing around, also sad to see now there has to he a police presence.
Lots to do for the entire family. Will definitely return in the future!!
It was awesome the diving boards high for my son the lazy river is fun
Nice place, lots of things to do!
Had a great time . Everything was clean and staff were friendly
A great place to relax. You dont feel like youre in Indiana anymore!
Clean, easy family fun!
Best pool in 100 miles
Im going here for my b dayso awesome
Great placed for a great price.
Well worth the money I spent
They kicked me off the diving boards for splashing a life guard. When there is literally Splash in the name.
My kids really enjoyed themselves
Awesome my daughter and I had a blast
