Came here to eat out dinner while on the road. Very nice park. Very spacious and peaceful. The playground was cool and there seems to be some trails, but we didnt venture because of the mosquitoes. But a very nice park indeed.

Very well organized and clean

Nice, one size fits all dog park. Also has a huge walking trail, and off-trail trails. Decent playground with swings. A pond there, with a bunch of geese, and dock. Lots of parking. Only complaint is that when they mowed, they did not bag the grass, anywhere.

Very fun place to relax at and well-maintained.

Best woods ever.....

Came here for my daughters soccer game. They have an awesome park for the other kids to play at during the game so that they are not bored. There is also a small pavilion here wirh a few picnic tables, which came in handy as it was lightly raining during most of the game. The field was in great condition.

Clean. A few people making deals at the park that was clear to see as people stop grab something and leave. That happened several times on our 3 visits here. One lady even had her kid with her. No good

Very nice park

This park is well set up. The facilities have multiple restrooms. Large open play fields for soccer, baseball, or other sports. They also have a newly renovated park for kids. Van horn woods has two sides across the river so make sure you know what side your family picnic is on otherwise you may wonder if you and Cousin Mel are the only two showing up.

Our grandkids had a ball there today. Smaller playground but it has a kid size zip line and it was great. The kids will definitely want to come back for that alone!!

This park is awesome fun for kids! There is a safe Kids size Zip line. This Park is for 2 years to 12 years old kids. Trees are great for shading the park on hot summer days. Also, there is a soccor field next to park.

Mountain bike/bmx track closed and overgrown. Park busy with soccer and bathrooms locked up. Trail muddy and made worse by maintenance vehicles. Playground nice. Pit toilet down to the South end and poorly naked.

New play ground equipment, big thumbs up... Many ages can enjoy. 12-4 yr olds were able to use th new zip line! Great update.

New unisex bathrooms and upgraded park was done 2 years ago. Open fields for soccer. Have to check to see if drones are allowed.

Great covered picnic tables and also a large group cobered shelter. Nice walking trails. Fun park for younger kids. Too bad the dirt bike track was closed as it looks like it was fun. Now its just an eye sore. Also theres a dog park here.

Theres a large fenced in area for playing fetch with your dog, some trails, a playground for the kids, and a bike park. Pretty cool! Love that I dont need a permit to bring my dog out to play fetch for an hour while the kids play. Always clean too - people actually pick up after their pets here.

Googled: Dog Parks Near Me....and this is what came up. After dealing with 2 detours, I finally get there, and NO DOG PARK. Very frustrating on a very hot day.

Had no grills when we called ahead they said not to take a grill . That ruined my family reunion. Had to go buy a grill unnecessary

Fun things to do

Van Horn is a large Park area with multiple outlets for entertainment. The park has two parking lots, one on either side of the park. The west side of the park has a playground, fields and pavilions for kids soccer games and the like. While the east side of the park has a fair sized, open to the public, double gated dog park thats all open except a single evergreen tree on the side opposite the entry gates. The space has a slight down hill grade across most of it. There is also a small pond that people fish out of, a Male/Female restroom, and an off road type of bicycle course with a wooden fence enclosing it. There is a trail that connects the two sides of the park, but Ive never ventured down it. I go primarily for the dog park, which has its own Facebook group to try to coordinate play dates for the pups.

This is a nice forest preserve that you can go on walks, runs or a short bike ride. Theres a loop of a path that you can go around but make sure to bring bug spray. If youre interested in BMX or mountain biking, theres a course that you can go on with hills and jumps. Many people seem to go there and usually theres a younger crowd in this part but its fenced off. They have a nice little pond with a pier as well. If youre interested in going into the woods, there are some paths that Ive seen but havent explored yet.

Great place but parking is horrible when there are soccer games.

This place is amazing to go they have a park they have paths a lake a bike park an all on river. The bike park is cool and they have some good jumps and u are allowed to make the ramp beter by adding dirt the had put a new part in on it like a year ago and that is pretty good. But the people that run the have not been vaping it in good shape now as much but it is still pretty fun. They need to cut the grass more though because its almost up to the height of the your bike and the paths are very small cause all the grass have over grown. So if u jump a couple inches over u go right into the grass and theres weeds in that to. But its deffently a fun place lots of good memorys.

Need a water fountain and a covering over park, super hot with the sun. Need picnic tables close to playground.

I have been enjoying our grandchildren growing up playing soccer at the Van Horn Woods. The washrooms are decent and playground is great.

This place is beautiful, the scenery, the river, nature. The only problem for me is the lack of cement trails and most of the oaks trail is in dire need of repair.

Great little park with woodsy walking trails. Its also a Pokemon nest with 2 gyms and about 6 or 7 stops.
