What kind of forest preserve has a no dog policy? I understand making you lease your dog but none at all?

This seems to be a good preserve for bird photography. It has separate bird watching tower area that provides excellent view for migratory birds photography. I visited this place on Sunday and the gate was closed. Check with visitor center by calling in advance. That will save time if you are planning to visit specifically for photography. Overall, it was a good experience based on section of the preserve I was able to explore. Definitely coming back in the peak season of bird migration.

Weather wasnt great the day that I went and there were no herons to observe due to the time of the year. But it was a nice 3 mile or so walk with a loop around Lake Budde and alongside several others.

Great quiet place to take a short hike... Always a chance to meet nature, year round.

Great place to hike. Trail is well maintained. A little overgrown if you are try to view the birds on the lake bit they do have quite a few overlooks.
