Visited Phipps conservatory then decided to explore the nearby park. We were pleasantly surprised and ended up walking over 4 miles on the walking paths and trails. The area is beautiful and not what you would think of a “city” park. The facilities and trails were clean and well kept. Very nice park!

Just went to Phipps Conservatory Christmas display which was huge and every square inch of it beautiful. Kids there seemed to enjoy it. Fabulous place to go.

We happen to be at Schenley Park on a full sunshine fall day. This was the first time our 7 1/2 month labrador retriever experienced cool weather and he loved it. We currently live in NC but were originally from PIT. Our puppy got to run through fall leave, and romp around a big pile of foliage. An amazing puppy experience

This is a very beautiful park. There are many scenic areas . As well as a childrens park. Beautiful open spaces to play frisbee or other sports. Also contains a golf course. Beautiful fountains as well as an ice skating place and a nice place to hold an event.

Busy and perhaps crowded but the people are easy going and courteous. The disc golf course is crowded and holes overlap causing players need to be careful but again, polite people. The course makes due with the area, but its not a great course. The first few holes are good and it progressively becomes all wooded tunnel shots. If you want a lot of dueces, play the short holes. Its better you play the long holes.

Nature in the city. Centrally located. Access to museums, universities, galleries, food. Track and field facilities. Rental pavilions, sports courts and arenas, pool, playgrounds. A rich history almost as old as Pittsburgh itself.

Extraordinary experience! People here are super friendly! We had an amazing time!

Along with Frick Park, Schenley Park is a must-see and must-hike recommendation in Pittsburgh. It is amazing to have such a large park so close to the city centre and the universities. It has several miles of hiking and jogging paths (paved, gravelled and wild), different elevations, small stone bridges, a large bridge, a good course, a creek, couple of ponds, lots of flora and fauna, and some more. It is also a great place within the city to observe fall colors. The only downside of it being within the city is that it has a fair amount of traffic.

Cool disc golf course nothing special though very easy. First few holes had a nice view.If in Pittsburgh would do again but wont go out of my way. Biggest issue is parking and people walking around in front of holes. Spent about 10 minutes waiting for people to move. Should put up signs.

Love going to this park. It has a lot of cool trails--havent explored most of then yet. Flagstaff hill is a great place to picnic.

Great place!! The oval complex is super nice and so much to do there! Run,bike, pickle ball, tennis, sprint, track workouts, a soccer field, so much!

Great place to meetup with friends and family, exercise or just take some time out, in nature. There are walking trails, frisbee golf, some play rounds and pavilions. Its centrally located in the east, and athough there is a lot of parking, it is hard to find it on the weekends, later in the day.

A well maintained beautiful park. The Phipps conservatory here is awesome and beautiful. I loved visiting here and getting to watch the different flowers inside and plants. Fun time for kids too.

We love watching the sunset from the field off Overlook Dr. So much of the park is just lovely and peaceful. Such a gem so close to the city!

We went to the Carnegie Natural History and Carnegie Art Museums. It wasnt super busy, which was nice because we could spend all the time we wanted looking at the different exhibits. The dinosaurs were cool and the I especially liked all the gemstones. They have a wide range of art that ranges from the 1700s (or before) to modern times. We got in for half price (arrive at 3) and parking wasnt too expensive. I would definitely come back because there was much more to see. Overall, a great time! The lay out was very confusing. You had to zig zag back and forth passing the same exhibit multiple times to see others. This is the reason for only 3 stars.

Beautiful! And a great diversity of views, from forest trails whose only sign of civilization are the trails themselves and bridges, to hills that show off the wonderful buildings downtown. Multiple fields for just about every sport Ive heard of that doesnt involve animals, and several features for sports that DO involve animals.

I had a great time at Schenley Park! My girlfriend and I took a walk around the park, and then settled down on the hill across from Phipps Conservatory. The view was beautiful, and the abundance of trees/shade made it peaceful and relaxing. I bet the park looks really great in the fall, too. I’d 100% recommend Schenley Park to anyone who wants a good hike, view, or picnic, etc!

Nicely maintained park with a great view of the downtown skyline. Publicly accessible restrooms, jungle gym, track, soccer fields, trails, Frisbee golf course, and tennis courts. Only parking is along the road and can be hard to find available space during the weekends or evening hours.

A great place to visit and would definitely suggest adding it to your list when checking out the Pittsburgh environs. Its has quite a few exhibit rooms so, if one doesnt peak your interest, another one will. While the 1st 3 rooms didnt do much for me as they were dedicated to.mums and there was no pop, whatsoever, the remaining.rokms and exhibits were really rockin from the Japanese bonsai exhibit with an outstanding koi pond to the Cuban exhibit (wow!). Definitely dont miss this conservatory!

Always clean, lots of room to get in a great workout and comfortably socially distance, beautiful view in the evening.

Horrible for a cross country coarse. You should be ashamed to make this the Pittsburgh coarse. So many better places to run. Poorly maintained coarse.

Growing up in Pittsburgh, Schenley Park has always been a part of my life. One of my fondest memories is of my mother taking me to one of the parks there. As a child I dubbed it Mousey-cheese Park, lol, because there was a very big red&blue sphere noticeable from the front of the park. There was a slide that went around it and the whole thing had different size circular wholes in it. It reminded me of a big wheel of Swiss cheese, the very kind they always showed mice snatching on cartoons, lol. Ah, the magic, wonder and imagination of a child! I was petite and slender, but a very fit young child, so it was my favorite thing to play on in the park. I would climb on it, in and out of the holes and slide on it for at least a good 45 minutes and then of course go on the swings!I have so many great memories; sledriding as a child and teen to iceskating as a teen and young adult, as well as one of my first driving lessons given to me by my friend, even though I didnt have my permit yet .To be quite honest, Ive cherished Schenley Park as a local landmark. You pretty much can do anything you want here, when it comes to outdoor activities. I have also enjoyed the duck pond here, the pinic areas and the walking/running trails. Bikes are welcome too!I look forward to creating many more cherished memories here. I do hope you will explore this wonderfully scenic and quite large park and create wonderful memories of your own! I know it is so lovely this time of the year! What a gift, to be able to enjoy the great outdoors and not have to leave Pittsburgh! Thank you for allowing me to share. The view of Phipps from Schenley Park is amazing. They have events in the park all summer long including “movies in the park”,bands, marathons& fundraisers, activities for kids and pets. Well landscaped and a popular place for runners and cyclists. This park can become a busy place! But I recommend this Park anytime just especially during the summer.

We went during a rainy Sunday morning to see the Van Gogh exhibit and practically had the place to ourselves! What an amazing place! If I lived here I would definitely have a membership. Wonderful place to unwind!

Its nice for a park in the middle of the city and great to visit if you live nearby but its not worth a long trip to visit.

Great views and fresh air, with quite big area. One of my favorite place to wonder a lot, sometimes get mat for mornings yoga for fresh start and sometimes enjoy set hammock with nice reading or work.

Nice park but very crowded on this particular day. We wanted to play tennis but there was a waiting list to get a court.

Have season passes to the zoo, w ego at least once a month. Great aquarium, best time to go is opening to about 11a.m, thats when the animals r most active, could have more room for the animals, more exhibits but other than that, the kidos it!

During a visit to Pittsburgh, we packed a picnic lunch and ate at Schenley Park. The park is open, breezy, and provides walking/biking areas, plus frisbee golf.

I didnt see the whole thing but what wealthy nearby neighborhoods. Nice mature landscape. People there seem very nice.

Schenley Park is so peaceful. The trails are wide and hilly (not great for biking). The views are so sweet and the scene feels like anyone could have a photo shoot there!

Its a beautiful place to surround yourself with nature. The trail makes it easy to navigate without getting lost.

Great playground, awesome paved jogging trail! Wish there werent so many carpenter bees drawn to the wooden playground structures and it would be nice if there was a little more shade.

Best view of Pittsburgh. The ride up the inclinator is awesome... Old, rickety and takes you back to a time you couldnt imagine. A must when in Pittsburgh.

Schenley Park has always been a beautiful place to experience. During my childhood we went there many times. It never ceases to amaze, especially in the fall.

It was a nice peaceful park with different activities such as disc golf.

I came here today with the kiddos. It a nice place to go and enjoy some of the nature settings. It is nice and quiet, not too crowded even though its not summer yet. There is a pool and lots of trails to explore. Will definitely be coming back when the wheather gets warmer to enjoy the pool with the kids.

Phipps Conservatory is beautiful! I always enjoy seeing to different and unique sculptures/plants. Its relaxing.

Disappointed with the PVGP. Every year they give more and more of the public viewing area to special (paying?) groups. It makes it tough for the people who come (and donate $) to find a place to watch the races. It would be nice if the park would cut the high grass that blocks the view at the few publicviewing areas. Great job by the volunteers keeping things moving and the food vendors for handling the crowd. Props to the shuttle drivers for the friendly service.

Schenley park is a great location for family fun, cookouts, sports, and art. The trails allow for secluded and shaded jogs, while the open fields allow for sports such as soccer (futbol) and American Football. There is an 18 hole golf course, plenty of tennis courts, and a full track.The various backdrops are great for photography and video shoots. You have nature, graffiti walls, dirt piles, trails, a pool, playgrounds, etc for all types of different looks and styles. As for family fun there are a number of pavillions equipped with grills and restrooms or portable Johns.Schenley park is one of the many green spaces Pittsburgh has to offer, but its centralize location (right between Oakland and Squirrel Hill) makes it a great choice. During the summer the city offers movies in the lark, sport lessons, and other activities. You would have to check their website for times and locations. Also the world renowned botanical garden, Phipps Conservatory, is located at the entrance of the park.

Great place to go for a hiker walk. I always feel safe there. Many things to do. The pavilions that they have there are nice to rent. They keep up with the cleanliness. Its definitely worth a trip if you have not been there and you like the outdoors.
