Such a beautiful park and playground, suitable for a variety of ages.Theres a lovely paved walking trail and a couple pavilions in addition to the wooden maze-like playset.I highly recommend grabbing coffee or a treat from the Starbucks across the street before your stroll or playtime with your children.
My son loves this park. Nice place for the parents to sit inside of the actual playground. Always tons of kids there!
Super park with shiny new gear. Its really family friendly and peaceful setting. Very nice, very well maintained.
Great place for a relaxing walk. Very peaceful. Great place for families. My son played little league baseball there. Went many times for the fireworks
I like to come here but be careful about the poison ivies.
GREAT place to take kids. Well maintained park and big enough to have lots of kids.
We enjoyed Dormont hosting Black Panther on the big screen tonight with a socially distant activity. Thank you.
My daughter really enjoys this park. The all wood playground is very unique!
Fun wooden park does need some repairs
Beautiful and big lots of hills. Baseball diamond and restaurants at bottom of hill
A little piece of heaven. Let the child be a child even inside yourself.
Its nice and pleasant. View of the trees was beautiful.
Great place to play basketball and tennis.open late.clean park.lights on both bball court and tennis courts!:)
Easy to navigate. The kids love the castle park playground and we cant wait to explore more of the park. Crossing the street can be a little squirrelly since people dont always stop when and where they should. But once inside the park area I was no longer worried since theres no through-traffic that I could see.
I love going here to enjoy bright sunny days. Perfect place to walk your dog or sit and relax while watching the world go by
The playground is great for kids all ages.
Beautiful, peaceful park.
Finely maintained park. Great play area for children. The pool is wonderful with plenty of tanning area. Fun water slide. Bring your pool toys and floating devices. There is a snack shack for your convenience
Food & beer were excellent.
My favorite park in the Dormont Area. Been taking my daughter here for years. Can make a day out of the area in the summer, as it is right next to a shopping plaza, basketball & tennis courts, & public pool all within walking distance.
Everyone is so friendly here. Take your kids...theyll have a blast. The pool is wonderful.
I love it.. The fireworks they have are very nice. The pool is awesome! Lots of room even if theres a million people there.
We got a Christmas tree from the band. Everyone was extremely helpful n nice but the lady with super short red hair was extremely rude to the kids working for her n had a massive attitude
Nice place for a walk. The trail is just steep enough to not be boring.
So much fun unique play space
My 2 and 5 year old kids loved Dormont Park, but I was a bit disappointed by the condition of the play area. I gave it 4 stars because my kids would definitely give it 5 stars, but as a parent Id lean more towards giving it only 2 stars. We frequent Pleasant Kingdom playground in Pleasant Hills and this other castle playground is very similar (and better maintained). We loved the numerous slides, hidden child size stairs, amount of baby/toddler/traditional swings, incorporation of tires, and just the super fun structure of the playground! My kids also enjoyed that it was big enough for them to play hide and seek within just the playground equipment! I will say that my children didnt notice anything negative about this playground and had a blast! Unfortunately as a parent, I was concerned with how safe everything was because it appeared worn down and neglected. In the middle of the wooden wobble/shaking bridge it was missing a large piece of wood. By no means was it big enough for a child to fall through, but it was large enough for my 2-year-olds foot to go through. There were 2 spots that just ended with an opening approximately 5ft. from the ground. There werent any issues with these areas being dangerous (no more dangerous than any other playground) but it was apparent that parts of the original structure were missing.
If you are ever looking for a place to rent out for events such as birthdays, graduation parties, etc. I would highly recommend this place
The playground that used to be great is being picked apart by liberal helicopter parents complaining about safety vs. Letting your child experience things (newsflash, they may fall down a few times, thats how they learn!) - and Dormont not funding it enough to keep up with repairs of worn out equipment. Both have contributed to the decline of this once great park. Many things are in need of repair, or were simply just removed, leaving an empty space, a hole in our hearts, and just a memory of what it once was.
Nice park. Good walking trails. We play Pokemon there quite often.
Nice local park!
While visiting the area, took my kids here to blow off some energy. Now, they want to know when we will be traveling there again. Just to visit this playground! Very unique playground! Something for every age!
Best park ever. Been goin since I was little. Now I take my kids.
Great place for kids
This park is a nice wooden play area with lots to do. For younger kids, it definitely requires some parental help for alot of the features, which is nice and also tough when youre trying to chase an older toddler through the obstacles! It always seems to have a good crowd and is great for meeting up with friends. The wood could definitely use a good coating to prevent splinters though.
Cool place. Basketball court is amazing
VERY GOOD
I really like this park. Quite serene. It has ball fields, really nice playground equipment, pavilion, paved walkway. Lots of room for my dog to run.
Its a great pool.My granddaughter n I along with her pop pop enjoyed it all summer. Love that pool.
The wooden Castle park is great. My nephew really enjoyed himself there.
Dormont park used to have the most best playground in the whole wide world. i used to play there every day. it was fun because the slides were metal and they were dangerous. you could get burned just going down them. now the metal slides have been taken away and replaced with plastic ones. this simply simply isnt fair. the slides are no longer exciting. i recommend that people looking for a good playground go to Anderson playground in Schenley park instead.
An amazing park located not far from downtown. Large wooden structure with lots of things to play on. Great for the kids!!
Nice park. Very veritable for people walking as a form of exercise.Theres a badass wood playground structure too.I use the tennis courts, they are nice.
The kids love this park. I like it a lot but the park layout is frustrating as a parent trying to keep up to make sure my little one is safe. There are many small tunnels and narrow staircases to maneuver through while trying to not hit your head. The bathrooms are a distance away and are usually locked.
This is a very nice park, handicap accessable with shade trees, play grounds, little league field, picnic pavilions and paved walking trail. The only negative I would say is that the paved trails could be better maintained.
Great staffing wonderful people
My kids love Dormont park. Its been a Dormont staple for well over 15 years and we couldnt enjoy it more! Its definitely nice to have such a wonderful play park so close to home.
Nice little park thats upkept all the time
Fun place to run, play and make new friends. A highlight of the community. Some of the boards on the floating bridge need replaced so play with caution.I’ve been coming to this park for 11 years and really have a good time every time.We enjoy walking around on the nature paths and also the pool is a quick walk down the hill.
Great park to take your dog for a walk. My dog loves it.
This park has a great play area for small kids. Its a bit of a maze, which makes supervision more challenging, but the kids loved it.Bonus points for having an old-school fire pole without a ridiculous number of safety features.
This park had lots of features including s ball field walking paths and an extensive wooden playground. The Dormont pool is also nearby, though we didnt visit it. This gets four stars instead of five due to damage from a big storm a few days before we were there. U assume they have it will really things, but the playground surface in particular had large muddy areas, missing mulch, and even as large changes dig by good waters. To be clear it was still enjoyable.
Dormont Park is very hilly but they have one of the best pools outside of the city of Pittsburgh
Nice local park. Great playground for kids.
Large and very relaxing. Great play area for kids.
Wonderful little neighborhood park, baseball field, pavilions and walkways. The kids always love Castle Playground
Beautiful park. Lots to do and a huge football sized pool.
Its a nice big wooden park in a good neighborhood but the quality of the park is deminished I noticed some play areas where missing instead of fixing the areas its simply blocked off or just missing and all the wood work needs sanded down and refinished
Nice
Good space. Wooden garden for children which is different one.
A great park for kids to enjoy.. all kinds of play stuff for the little ones .a ball park .also rest rooms.
I love the play structure as it reminds me of my favorite playground from my own childhood. My 4 year old daughter loves the different areas and always meets a new friend when we go.Only issue I have is with the bathrooms. It looks like a scene out of a knockoff Texas Chainsaw straight to DVD horror flick.
Beautiful
My kids love the wooden park here. Lots of unique places to explore for a relatively small park.
Nice park. The swings are a little high
My son loves this park . It is a great wooden park.
Beautiful and nice location right next to the pool.
Cute place in dormont for a picnic. Try sledding in winter
Used to live in Dormont helped build the wooden playground by the pool. Love to post at the pool lot when Im on break working for Advantage Towing/AAA
This is a great place to relax with family or just walk.
It has a well built playground.
It is massive, plenty of space, you can rent a pavilion as good price, has baseball field, I have been taking my dogs there and boy they loved it. I loved it because it has provided wide space for walking, beautiful view and very safe.
This park is perfect for kids who want a large park to play in. It is one of those classic parks made out of wood, which can reduce the pain from falling or getting cut. However, some things are a little scary for young children, such as the very-hard-to-balance wooden square with chains. I have absolutely no concerns. The park also has a ton of things to play on.
The park was nice and clean.
Nice little park. Clean and pretty but not very big or exciting. Good location for a nice short walk.
Nice park, love the old school swimming pool!
Lots of needles on the ground and dog poo. The grass seems to always be tall and there is poison ivy everywhere
The wooden playground is one of the coolest playgrounds Ive ever seen. The park is a nice size. A lot of it is on a hill but its southwestern PA so what do you expect? :)Theres a little league ball park nearby. Tennis and basketball courts nearby. A series of horseshoe pits nearby. An enormous pool. Within walking distance of a grocery store and plaza. So, a nice park with a lot going on around it too.
Pool and park are great for smaller kids
Nice and clean well maintained
Went here for the community days carnival ...fair.. or whatever its called was not impressed they had everyone down near the pool instead of spread out through the actual park
Great wooden playground in the shape of a giant castle. We love playing here, but not so much after a lot of rain
The playground and grounds are great. The park has a castle playground. Theres also a baseball field and theres a long walking path above the playground and baseball field. There are hills great for sled riding (especially the big one facing Dormont Pool). There are also bathrooms.
This is a very unique playground that all kids love because of the large wooden structure that allows them to not only play physically, but use their imaginations as well. Most kids will either pretend to be kings and queens of the castle, or else they make up hide-and-seek and follow-the-leader type games around the park. I believe this park is a bit more difficult for younger children to navigate, as there are a lot of stairs and points where they might need to jump down or pull themselves up, and this proved hard for my younger child until he was about 4yo (granted, he is a smaller guy). The proximity to the Dormont Pool is a bonus feature!
Great wooden playground for all ages
My favorite place to walk.
We frequent this park because of its convenient and homey location in Dormont. We can walk there from our house. Its more of an old school wood build park, which reminds me of the Crafton Park. We love that the Borough plans a lot of their happenings at the park and the pool next door.We also enjoy the running trails and what my kids call the secret yellow park (which is for really little kids). We also love that this park was built by the community members. Makes us really appreciate and want to take care of it.Its also conveniently located next to the Baseball Field in Dormont!
At Dormont Park, you are allowed to bring your dogs as long as you have a leash and and keep the dogs under control. It is not a big park, however, it is a good place to take a walk. There is also a large playground at the bottom of the hill!
