I really liked this submarine tour. this is definitely one of the best highlights of the science museum. Its part of general mission, or pay $7 if you just want to visit the submarine. I have never been inside a submarine, so it was fascinating to see and learn how people live in a submarine.

The sights from the rivers edge are stunning as is, but to be inside a real life submarine was breathtaking.Totally worth it, and to be included with the ticket price theres no reason to not take a look. The staff was very friendly and gave us plenty of time to look around and taught us alot.

This 1940s submarine is truly magnificent! You can feel the claustrophobia the crew once felt inside the submarine, but there is air conditioning inside. Clothes of the crew appear to be left behind. It gives you the eerie feeling of the souls inside the submarine. Also, based on the pictures, the submarine is in excellent condition. There is even a freaking 21.5ft torpedo still positioned at the bow of the submarine! Please check the submarine out! It is included with the general admission tickets! Bon voyage!

Vintage piece of beloved and well-preserved US naval history. This is a great place to bring kids. Their natural curiosity will have them asking all kinds of questions. Pro tip, Requin means “shark” in French. Some of the tour guides might quiz you. It can get crowded on the sub which does lessen the joy of the experience. It’s best to visit when crowds are small at the Science Center. They might consider creating an entry system to limit the number of visitors on the sub at any one time. This would allow visitors to see the sub at a less hectic and rushed paced.

If youre into ships, Navy or submarines, this is must go place. She is floating on the river - amazing for a ship that was built in 1945. She is the main attraction, but there is a small exhibition trying to recreate the life of the crew of 81 on a mission. Surely not much space! Take time to put yourself to the shoes of the crew, under water, silent, raking from depth charges. These men were made of iron and their nerves of steel.

The USS Requin is a tench class diesel electric submarine. Like most seafaring vessels its a tight fit through the hatches, but its really cool inside. If you have serious mobility issues or are very overweight youll have a tough time getting from compartment to compartment, but its really worth the squeeze to see inside. Its a self guided walkthrough, so you can take all the time you want reading the signs and information plaques inside. There are a few compartments that you cant enter without being on the guide led tour though, like the conning tower and the sonar room

I got to explore the submarine and learn its history; on the surface, it can reach a speed of 21 knots, it can carry 80 people, and it can stay submerged for 72 hours, but it needs to be on the surface to recharge its batteries.

Included in the basic price also the sports complex next to the science center bld free. Got to do the air course (harness system) held a plus size woman no problem. I did the zipline 2 times and 8 different types of obstacles in the 20 min alotted. The passage ways on the sub was challenging but one foot going sideways at a time managed to get through remember to duck.
