Nice but not too much to look at. But it was a nice man made waterfall.
Super cool design that lets you for all intensive purposes walk right under multiple waterfalls through its well planned architecture. You can also see everything from above. There is nearby parking and a nice biking / hiking path runs along side the canal the falls are built on and continues through Phoenix into old town Scottsdale.
I was so excited to come here and check this place out. There were some type of flying bug everywhere!!! The one spot underneath the one waterfall had thousands of them!! So that was a little weird. The ground area where you were supposed to walk had some sort of sludge mud that smelled funky and it was tough to walk around. All in all, check it out, but just note the bugs. I had heard it would be cooler here due to the water, and it was a little bit.
Youd never guess we have this interesting park in the middle of Phoenix. Its a great reminder of the importance of water in the desert and all the work done to manage it. Open to the public any time you need a waterfall in your life.
Interesting visit and not a long stay. The park next to the waterfall has volleyball, tennis, and pickleball. Good entertaining stop.
All I can say is youve got to see it for yourself . Trust me its well worth it .
The coolest thing about the arizona falls is the falls themselves!! Been vacationing in az since before I could remember.
Arizona Falls is a neat feature to stop and see. It is part of the canal system and has a bike/walking path next to it. There are quite a few 5k events that happen there. The parking is less than desirable because it is just a big rectangle parking lot with only 1 entry/exit. It can get very congested with events there. The restrooms are also less than desirable because of the lack of privacy and the horrific smell of the open waste below. Make sure you dont need to go while youre there.
Very cool, calming great place to hang out for a little bit. There is even ducks swimming around. Very picturesque. Thanks to all the hard workers contracted by SRP that built this waterfall canal and thank you SRP for designing the best looking canal in Phoenix its just not plain jane like the others in town that are closer to where we live. Will be going back though maybe at night for better pictures.
It is an interesting 5 minute diversion. There are tennis courts you can leverage. Worth a ten minute side trip but wouldnt make a day of it.
Love the history related to producing electricity via the water movement.
Interesting place. Nice to have flowing water in the desert.
Great place to get some exercise. Interesting too!
Always a nice little place to escape the heat for a bit and get a smell of the ocean in the middle of the desert.
This is a historic old hydro plant from back in the day, and well worth visiting, esp. In nice weather. The are informational plaques and a real sweet small park with good shady spots. Great people watching as its right on the canal paths. And yes, there is a waterfall! Its a little gem in Arcadia, stop and check it out, I think kids would love it too. Park has restrooms, its all disability accessible and plenty of parking.
If you want to get away from your house before you lose your last thread of patience worth the drive for a bit of history and cool spot to sit. Nice park as well and tennis courts.
Worth a visit, cross between art and industry with waterfalls!
This was a great place for a morning hike. Its on the trail of the Arizona Grand Canal. It has 3 separate viewing areas and lots of educational information about the facility. You can rent a green and yellow bike and go biking down the trail on the canal. We walked across the street to the Arcadia Park with our dogs and enjoyed the neighborhood.
Nice place to walk.
So interesting and a hidden gem right in the middle of the city. I grew up here and had no idea it even existed until I saw an article in the AZ Republic. It would be a great place to bring a sack lunch and sit to enjoy the cool refreshing air off the waterfall.
Nice little park to visit. If I lived here itd be a great place to go walking or just to relax.
Such a lovely area. The park on the other side has very soft grass that is great for picnicking.
Bike ride turn around. Nice Alberto Rios poetry carved into concrete
Quick stop worth checking out. Very nice art installation mixed with some civil engineering.
Amazing place for just relaxing and listening to the waterfalls. I was very impressed.
An interesting stop. A quiet walk and waterfalls made by man to help man. Nice stop. Doesnt take long to see but can stay as long as you like.
We took a nighttime tour of Phoenix and showed each other the nice views that we each knew. This was one of them and is a very cool spot to visit. Free, neat waterfalls, and unique photo opportunities.
Its a peaceful place to spend a few minutes
Interesting, but not all that much to see.
It is a great joy of mine to learn about local history. Who knew a desert could have a waterfall in the city? A secret hidden in plain sight. Plenty of parking.
Neat place Ive driven by here a thousand times and didnt realize it was here.
Such a nice place to visit.
Great walking/running/biking path.
Nice, semi cool reprieve from the sweltering city in the summer. Worth a short pop in.
Wonderful place to walk along the canal.
Excellent place to check out!Pretty interesting place in the middle of a city. Decided to check it out just because and it was definitely worth it.Relaxing summer nights...
Magic hide place for relaxing and meditate
Great little place for walking!
Enjoyed it, but there wasnt a whole lot to see.
Kind of a neat place, it highlights the hydroelectric capabilities in the valley, some cool architecture and a nice place for a walk as well as take pictures.
Great gem of the city
Easy to get toMaybe nicer in evening
Good place to run!
Love running races here. It is so nice to run the canal. The waterfall is peaceful in the evening.
Really nice piece of engineering blended into nature & the sparrow nesting is a nice touch!
Nothing crazy but worth a quick stop to experience the man made falls and the history of how they came about to be.A lot of people biking and jogging the trail leading away from this fall
Quick stop to learn about a restored hydroelectric plant. In the 1800s it was a local gathering spot to socialize by the falls. Then in 1902 the built a plant to generate electricity. It was rebuilt in 1911. There is art work, history and info about the technology behind the power plant.
Pretty cool place to check out on bikes...
A nice place to just get away feom people. Very little people were there when i went. Its really nice and if you like fishing you can do that here as well
Nice cycling ride
I cant belive I waited this long to go check it out. I definitely recommend biking to it if you can. If not their is a parking lot on the north side of Indian School rd which has a short path that leada ya straight to it.
Its very peaceful here.
The sound of waterfalls is relaxing...
Perfect to sit and have some air in the heat
By the time we were out in the 109 degree weather, we were ready for some water! This is a neat little place to cool off and take some fun pics!
I love this place and have for long time. I come here too relax and clear my thinking. Best place ever
Nothing too exciting but is interesting and a nice place to take a break.
I was looking for unique places Arizona Falls comes up so I decided to go. Its a restored hydroelectric plant. The water that falls from it are pretty cool. Good place for photos. Then there is a path that runs along both sides of the water way. Its not paved very well be careful of stumbling on small rocks. Wear correct shoes as I did not. It looked like a great walk. I ventured out maybe a 1/4 mile round trip. There are porta pottys. I could see tennis courts in the distance. Very clean. I will be back to actually take a walk or ride a bike. I enjoyed myself.
Needs some clean up on the ground from the splashing fountains, mosquitoe hazard
Pretty cool but not much to do here.
Ran a 5k here, it has a great view
Cool hidden spot on my bike rides
Its a very relaxing place to walk around
Pretty spot next to the canal. Could use better shading for seating
It was nice to see this spot when I stopped to explored GR Herberger park one morning. Take the steps up from the parking lot and then you will reach a small concrete bridge that spans the falls That is where you can get the best scenic overview of the falls. (If you take the stairs down, you will only be able to catch the tail end of these falls). From the bridge, you can see the water rushing through, leveling out for a bit, rushing down again, some small rapids for a few feet, and then evening out to the calm canal water. Very interesting sight.I also liked the fact that these falls provide hydroelectric power.
Nice seeing water going again. So peaceful
Just discovered this place driving by. Really nice.
Pretty neat place to stop at if youre looking at something to fill a little time gap in your day.
Did not like the smell. Also, the water flow was off for the fall.
I absolutely love this place and its always 20 degrees cooler
Beautiful architecture that creates a calm and peaceful setting. Definitely worth a stop and stroll about
Majestic and powerful! An awesome hidden treasures here in Arcadia, AZ, part of the Salt River Project, dating back over two millennia, as part of the Hohokam water canal system...the first hydroelectric power plant and today, powers the town of Arcadia (approximately 500 homes). They host events and engage tourists.A beautiful, must-see spot in Arizona! I love this place!
This is a nice spot to stop if you are walking nearby. It is a man-made waterfall on an untreated water canal, with the accompanying fragrance. Cool architecture and snippet of AZ history.
Beautiful waterfalls..
Not as big or cool as we had hoped but cool nonetheless, along the Arizona Canal as well which was awesome to walk along and read about!
Disappointed. Nothing to see like I saw on the info and pictures. Smelly, too.
Absolutely gorgeous. At least three sets of man made waterfalls. Great for photos.
Calming n relaxing to sit and listen to.
Awesome spot to cool down on a hot day. It was entirely too hot when we went, there was no one out, and we made it 5 minutes before the sweltering heat got the best of us. Id love to return a cooler day.
I think it is worth a visit.
Tha k you for preserving this little spot. Well designed surroundings and great to have explanations of what the river is doing. Loved out stop here
Its disappointing that half of the place was shut down due to the pandemic, but i feel like this place will be awesome to revisit, when everything is over!
Fun little visit. I wouldnt make a special trip for it, but we were driving past and stopped.
Awesome place for free fun, education, and beautiful waterfalls without the hiking like most AZ waterfalls. Highly recommended! Great place for a free date with cute waterfall selfies and learning about SRP supplying us with energy.
Feel free to check out my Instagram for more photos ig : xjoshuawellsx
Nice quiet place easy to acess
Pretty cool spot with a little information about our water system
Nice little place. Free to enter. Big parking space.
