The Water Garden was great, as always. Its best to have a reservation but if youre lucky, they will accept walk ins. The cheese burger is worth the price! The lights in the park werent changing color and the walkway lights were brighter than I remembered, which took away from the magic of park - plus no hammocks this year. But still a nice way to enjoy the waterfront.
Love this place! If you go bring a padlock to put up on the fence with all the memory locks on it! Great atmosphere for all ages! Games for kids, arcade, beer garden, lots of different food options. They have swings and games for kids, they also have swan boats and paddle boats you can rent. Walk down the pier and there is ice cream trucks and some kind of cool sea museum. They even have a booze cruise! Lmao there is a ton to do here...
Love this park. Definitely much better when its warm out as you can sit on the hammocks and such. Very cute park.
Amazing at night. You can buy food and alcoholic drinks from little stands and walk around the park. The lights change colors and I honestly have not been to a place quite like it.PS good luck finding a open hammock to lay in with your SO . Though Im not sure if you want to with how many people lay in them a day.
Most happening place in Philly on a summer weekend. This whole area was packed with people and restaurant/bars. An amazing band was playing in the park. People were enjoying the band and beer from the bar right in the center of an artificial lake. Even if there is no event, just walk around there is so peaceful and refreshing. You can enjoy the Delaware River and Penn Landing View .
Second visit and I gotta say we loved it way more without the hammocks. First time we sat under the lighting in thepark the whole time. This time we walked from one end where we didnt even realize all the fun & games the park had to offer, to the other end. A great inexpensive way to get out the house & have fun. Loved every bit of it.
Perfect place to go for a stroll, specifically around the summertime when its the most busy. Its never short of things to do: whether you want to listen to a concert, have some nice food or drinks, or chill out, as long as you can deal with the many people around, this place is never short of awesome. The charm is even doubled at night, sitting by the river or in the hammocks to people watch, youre certain that youll have a nice time around the colorful lights that make up this park.
In the summer there are hammocks and lights. A good place to sit and relax. In the winter no so many things to do but a good place to sit and think.
Good place to go and relax with your kids. Or good place to take a date
Winter Garden drinks/food: Super cute place but food and drinks very basic and barely edible. The ppl out in front (especially the woman) are SUPER MEAN. It detracts from the experience. I would have spent more money here but that woman made me stingy.
Went down to check out the Korean War n the Vietnam Veterans Wall of those Servicemen who lost their lives in Vietnam on Veterans Day, with a friend who was has done 2 tours n is a 26 yr Marine, Retired. Nicest guy you would ever want to meet.
Me and my sister katie we a great time there waitress was great he did a good job bring our food to us everything was good anybody want to go there youll have a good time everybodys good dare
Chillax is the name of the game. Listen to music, people watch, read a book, walk your pet. Best place in the city for it!
Great place just to walk around and take in the sights. Excellent view of the Battle Ship New Jersey.
It was Saturday and crowded, to be expected. The food from the burger place was surprisingly good. The “waffle” cone was a disappointment and all food and drinks were overpriced. What I was MOST disappointed about was the lights in the trees, I come only to see them and I would say at least a third of them were out! Who keeps up with this park to ensure everything is working properly? He/she is NOT doing their job! When I took picture of the lights, I did my best to do so of the ones that worked, but the gaps were noticeable. In one picture, which I tried shared here, you can even see the lights on the left that aren’t turned on. What a bummer. Ruined what could have been an excellent picture.
The water garden was the worst!!Way expensiveRude uppity staffNo serviceDo not go
Really chill vibes where you can get a lot of architectural pictures in of the city as well as have relaxation with friends family or the kids
Fun, lively area. Wish there were more food options and adult beverages offered here. Great place for families.
It was not that crowded social distance. People had there face mask on you get a good breeze off the water.
Beautiful boardwalk along the river and the spruce street harbor pier and the bridge look nice lit up at night
A neat park on the river front. Lots of attractions to see, the shaded hammock area with the colored lights is truly unique. It gets very crowded in the evenings. Early in the day on weekends is a great time to visit.
I dont remember but Ik ow its a fun place
So fun. Great views. Even better food and beers. Fair value ($7 beers $12 sandwiches)
Great views of the beautiful water and the 2 bridges Walt Whitman & Ben Franklin!! The Sky Line!!
WE took the ferry to the BB&T Pavillion for a concert. Everything was great, there is alot for anyone to see plenty of places to visit an make a day. Really enjoyed our experience.
The food was excellent the atmosphere was great had a good time
This place is amazing along Penns Landing and Columbus Boulevard in South Philadelphia! There is so much to do and see here at the new Spruce Street Harbor Park! Music, food, boat rides, an expansive boardwalk overlooking the enchanting Delaware River, and you can see the Spirit of Philadelphia docked in the short distance! This park is truly the ideal place to be to chill, gaze out into the water, fraternize with friends after work or a day off, and be mesmerized by the exuberance of people from all over. Great experiences indeed!
They have some food vendors that are own in the night and weekends. Not much else going on.
Love this time of year in Philly@ visited Garces truck....sad to say wait was insane and 1 person in front of us. Not sure it was worth the $. The only disappointment of the day!
We were traveling for work and got in on a Sunday so we spent some time downtown. When I read about this place it seemed like a cool place to check out.I wish all parks had hammocks. This would be my perfect park if it werent so crowded. Unfortunately, because it was so crowded, I never got to enjoy the hammocks. There is music, beer, and a lot of food stands. They also have some swan boats since its right on the water. This is an awesome place to spend the afternoon. If you can manage to find a day when its not crowded, that would be the ideal time.
Such a magical place! Grab a beer, some old bay fries and a hammock and soak in this amazing energy.
Great place to enjoy the views of Penns Landing. The location has access to great hotels and restaurants within the city.
After a day at the museums, a short walk to harbor park, food, drink and exhibits to tour, or you can relax in the hammocks hanging everywhere. Play chess? Got one big board just for you. Can you spot the USS New Jersey BB62? Have fun!
There is a large variety of food vendors and a memorable view on the pier, great views at night.
Im from Birmingham AL. This along with the Korean War Memorial was my very first place to visit. I really enjoyed the quietness and the seating offered.
Lively park with many things to see and great food options. You can order a local ale and sit and relax. The breeze from the river also does a good job of cutting the summer heat. We were there on a Saturday evening in August and the park was really busy but it felt more festive than it did crowded. Good time.
We went on a Sunday. They had a DJ & food stands. Loved the hammocks everywhere (if you could be quick enough to get one). Walked around, lots to do. Great vibes.
Delightful place to hang out and sing songs of the early 80s
Amazing way to spend your night in the city if you have the opportunity. There are tons of hammocks and if you wait around long enough you can manage to get one. They sell alcoholic beverages at a reasonable price, and if that’s not your style that also have some food trucks and ice cream. Parking is a little expensive but it’s the city so it’s expected. Afterward I recommend walking along the river.
Really nice public space on the waterfront. Free games, hammocks and chairs to relax in. Plenty of food truck style options as well as various ice cream/cold treats in the summer and beer garden style places to relax. Tourists haven’t seemed to have picked up on this place yet and it seems to be mostly Philly natives and guests from the hotel next door. I would like to see more outdoor public spaces like this in and around the city.
Such a unique and fun area. The entire boardwalk is full of little carts that serve food, drinks, ice cream and more. The riverwalk is absolutely beautiful and there is a small area that hosts some lovely rainbow hammocks. Definitely go on off time (weekdays and afternoons) to snag one while enjoying a beer. At night though, lights hanging from the trees light up. Didnt go then but it would probably be very gorgeous as well!
I went by boat to see the tall ships when they came to philly. Its one thing to see them from land but a whole new experience to see them from my own boat! Had a great time and it is absolutely beautiful there. You can see the whole city scape from my boat. Awesome views and a great opportunity for photographers!
Awesome place to just walk around and enjoy the river. Plenty of places to grab a bite to eat and drink, even some adult beverage options.
A wonderful and fun place to relax and walk around! Fun places to eat too!
Great place to go spend time with friends and family, personally you could spend 100$ or spend 20$ depending on what you do and the hammock are the best!
Enjoyed some beers on the USS Olympia overlooking a pop up festival. Beautiful views on the river. Thanks to the Navy gents who had a sing along! Very entertaining.
A great open and public space on the river front, the Spruce Street Harbor Park forms a continuum all the way up to the Ben Franklin Bridge. All along the waterfront, theres bars, cafes and restaurants. Loads of yachts and river boats along the way. Includes several US Navy ships. Walk the length - Go up to the Ben Franklin. Come back and take a hammock or enjoy one of the many cultural events that go on here. Have a beer. Slice a steak.Though, while doing all that, remember how much money you put into your parking meter. The Philadelphia police seem to hate people who just park and forget. Youre sure to be ticketed. And oh my-my if you park the wrong way. Youre sure to be yellow capped!Dont do the crime if you cant do the time! :DHave fun!
This is a great place to come whether youre on a date, with family, or with friends. I personally love the hammocks (but BRING hand sanitizer) to protect yourselves and the young ones...they have a lot of snack options. The river rink is just a short walk away and is very fun. I love sightseeing down there...it is also super peaceful at night. But be careful because its right near the river.
What an incredible venue - NYC you should come and visit and learn from your Philly neighbors.
What a wondeful place! Beautiful Park, several food trucks, lot of people and amazing vibe
Nice! You can enjoy the place to yourself early on a weekend morning or go when all of the food vendors are open and hang out all day. Beautiful hammocks to spend time on and great views of the ships.
My mom always told me that when you have a problem give it to the water and let it flow away. So this is definitely one of my favorite spots. They have sitting areas and paddle boats and everything else you could imagine.
Always fun at Spruce Street Harbor. From the nice views, yummy food vendors and drink selection, to fun stuff for the kids - swan boats, hammocks, swing sets and games. Cant go wrong here. Its also great at night when all the lights are lit up.
Lots of fun things to do and places to hang out! Lots of food options!
Nice place to take an afternoon stroll and grab a bite to eat. Parking was a bit of an inconvenience
One of the best places in Philly to visit at night time. The walk on the deck with so much decoration and plenty of activities happening around is rejoicing. View of the submarine and the warship is epic. There is also a pub on a actually ship which was full packed on a weekend night. Must visit if looking to hangout in Philadelphia.
I love this place. I love walking around. There are almost always carnivals or pop-up craft fairs. Lots of delicious food truck and I have had fun every single time there. The water hammock are super fun but hard to grab and hard to climb in and out of.
Had a mid week day off and needed a ME DAY. This place was a great choice. Didnt think it would be open early afternoon or have alcohol that early.... It was and it did! Not very crowded, very reasonable drink prices and great Margaritas. Sat in nice oversized chairs in the sand right behind large cargo nets suspended over the river. Very relaxing and very friendly staff at the bar. Def will go back for a great relaxing escape.
A really nice carnival type of vibe here. Little shops, hammocks, food cart around the bay/harbor. The lighted trees looks like a scene from a Disney movie. You can also go on a swan-boat ride. This is a must visit during summertime.
Such a fun park to visit with great views and comfy hammocks. Love that you can get food and drinks (seasonally) and that you can bring your dog
There’s things to do for families and adults. There are hammocks, vendors, games. If you are in Philly you must stop by. It’s a good time and outing. Xoxo Philly!
Its good place to visit.. welcome to Philly
River .. Ships.. Trees.. Yummy food..popup plays.. Kids friendly..boating .. Kayaking.. What else to expect. A perfect place all weather..Must GO!!
Loved this park. Great for families. You can get awesome food and drinks
It was the perfect place to stroll around. They offer ice cream, casual outside bars hammocks and lounge chairs to enjoy the river. My favorite is the LED light garden.
We stopped here for a little bit when we finally reached our destination. We just moved to New Jersey from Ohio. Everyobe on the parkway was friendly employees regularly asked if we needed any assistance and the park was CLEAN!!!
What a great area and park. From the classic ships and submarines to the views of the USS New Jersey or the Ben Franklin bridge across the Delaware. Perfect for a morning jog, afternoon walk or romantic night cap in the evening.
It was a very relaxed atmosphere. Good for date night or late night
This park/boardwalk is amazing! Best to go at night to take in the incredible views. Great for family, girls night get together, or a romantic date night.
Spring Art Festival was great on Saturday. Took an out of town friend there.
Very nice place to be
Nicely maintained area and perfect for a nice stroll.
Went to the Water Garden and that was great, but walking to and from, not even half of the people were wearing masks and didnt seem to care.... Probably wouldnt go again.
Such a pretty place especially in the summer. Whenever Id come Id always wish I could get on a hammock and today I did. Its always lively even in the winter and you can do anything from playing arcade games to eating or just sitting/laying around enjoying the views. Close enough to food places on south street for alternative dining options and you can even get on the yacht restaurants. The entire place is just funfilled and you know everyone there is having a fun time.
My family really enjoyed hanging out in Harbor Park under the colorful lights.
So many events happen in the summer down here. If youre visiting philly, check out events happening at penns landing and spruce harbor park
We went to an event at Penns Landing and stumbled across the rest of this area. They had a Summer Fest on the other side which was a neat little carnival. As for the park area, we ended up spending most of the day there. We were on the boat early in the day, got some delicious bahn mis and boba teas from a food truck (happy to find vegan and vegetarian options, especially at food trucks). We rode in some swan peddle boats. The wait was about 30 minutes for a 30 minute ride but was reasonably priced at $8 per person. They had canoes and rowboats too. The park had an arcade which was nice for getting out of the sun for a little. We managed to snag a hammock so got a relax for a little. They had a neat little area for kids with big building blocks. Everyone was a bit rambunctious for our liking so we didnt stick around to see what else was available for the kids but they were having a blast. We thought we explored everything but then on the way out came across a cool art/craft market along the sidewalk. There was art prints, jewelry, handbags, ceramics, and a variety of other handcrafted items. I was supposed to be on my way to work but this park ended up keeping us busy for hours. Very relaxing and enjoyable experience and Im happy we came across it.
Nice place and enjoyed it drink and food with family
Nice cool spots in Philly to hang out
Beautiful scenery but dont go there when its crowded.
Very disappointed, have been here 2 years ago and the hammocks were up. The weather is extremely nice and the park looks closed as it is very boringly empty. Not a single hammock was up, which is the main reason I came here. Wasted money on a Lyft.
My boyfriend and I really enjoyed ourselves. It was our first time and it wont be our last. There was something to do for just about every interest but what we enjoyed the most was the craft beers and petting all the dogs, especially Mia, the husky/Shepherd mix from Amish country.
Nice calm place to relax. There is some entertainment also available for kids. Overall one of good places in Philly city.
Great spot to hang in the city by the river. Hammocks, beer garden, and great food truck selection
My favorite park in the city, especially good for photography because of all the lights, river, and large ships like the Moshulu. In the summer they even have an arcade!
Its a great place to go with kids or without. There were a lot of people of all ages. There is food, drinks, snacks, hammocks and oversized games like Jenga, chess and Legos.
One of the best perks I have been to in the entire world ! The park literally has everything you could want. Live music, beer gardens, hammocks, tons of lights in the trees, play areas for kids, rentable paddle boats, rentable outdoor games, ice cream, food, fountains, public restrooms and so much more ! Truly an experience!
The food is so expensive and its not the best. Parking is expensive also $18 but if your kinda desperate and need to get out its nice. Rs
Fun place to chill by the water and grab a bite.
Lot of stuff to do..walk around come.with kids..enjoy the eater view
Fun place to go when you want to just hang out alone or spend time with family and friends. Plenty of food vendors and seating as well as plenty of things to do and only a few steps away from pennslandings summerfest/winterfest river rink!
Great atmosphere for family outing or date night.
This place was so incredible. What a great idea! Everyone was really nice and calm and chill and we just sat back and had a few drinks and had a really good time. There were some guys up there that were dancing the whole night and everyone was cheering for them in addition to all the really cool lights and hammocks! This place is freaking amazing I would recommend it to anyone! And its free! You cant beat free right? Oh, and its very kid friendly. There were kids anywhere from 2 to 20 there having a great time! Ill be going back for sure!
