We did the 7:30 Holiday Light tour on Black Friday of 2020. Because of Covid some things needed to be adjusted to comply with the city’s gathering rules, but the company did a fantastic job of communicating the changes and maintaining the fun and festive atmosphere! As advertised, with live holiday music and BYOB drinks in hand that we purchased at Yards Brewery, we road around the entire city to view all the Christmas lights. We stopped in Franklin Square and the Christmas Village at City Hall. It was a great way to kick off the holidays and I will be returning with another group of friends on 12/22/20! Definitely would recommend you check this out!

Awesome tour! The guide is hilarious and informative. Takes you to all the key places of Philly both historic and that is part of modern culture. Would definitely recommend.

It was such a fun tour. We did the 9:00 on the very first night so it wasnt too chilly yet. They had great knowledge of the stories and made it fun and interesting. I highly recommend! Cant wait to try their Holiday Lights tour!

The staff/guides were very good, particularly Kara who sang holiday songs. The light displays seemed a little less than other years, possibly due to Covid, but a nice evening.

Loved loved loved this tour! Tim was a super nice, funny guide who really seemed to enjoy what he does! As a lifelong Philadelphian, I was able to learn some new things along the way. I highly recommend!

I have spent my entire adult life in Philly and never experienced anything as GREAT as the Bad Things Happen in Philadelphia tour!! The people that put together n do this tour are just like family and professional at the same time. Tim, Rebecca, and the rest of the crew should truly be recognized for their time,talent, dedication and hard work. I would DEFINITELY recommend this...I WILL b going on the Holiday Lights Tour!!

Had a fabulous tour of Historic Philly with Tim, lots of interesting information that I would not have picked up just walking around by myself. He also shared a great cheesesteak recommendation (when asked) and told me about an app for an Alexander Hamilton walking tour that led me to some additional historic spots. I’m so glad I chose this tour company!

Would highly recommend this to anyone who wants to see the city in a fun/creative way! Brought my family from all over and they loved it. Tim was great and covered all the good sites.

Tim will jokingly tell you he is a failed comedian and teacher, but those are both far from the truth. A wonderful tour with a mix of history and humor. This is definitely a tour that both locals (like myself) and tourists can enjoy thoroughly because of its relaxed nature and the way Tim puts a new and lively twist on Philly tales you may or may not have heard before. 10/10 cant wait for the next tour I can attend!

We went on the Bad Things Happen in Philadelphia and it was really entertaining! We loved touring the Philadelphia and hearing all the great stories.

We had Nathan for our guide. You meet on the benches in front of the center, and then walk with pauses to hear information. You can wear whatever shoes you want, you dont need sneakers as the walking is minimal. Bring a tip for your guide! They do a great job.

We enjoyed the Christmas lights trolley tour on December 30 and it was crazy fun! Austin told us about the neighborhoods we were going to visit and then sat down and played his guitar while a singer sang traditional sing along Christmas favorites. The trolley was all lit up and decorated for the holidays and made the trolley into a cozy room just for our group. There were jokes and laughter and by the end we all felt like a big happy family. The children loved the music and their own fashion show and were totally delighted with the night. We look forward to going on other tours with this charismatic group of people who were having just as good a time as we all were. A perfect way to spend an evening.

We did the Holiday Tour it was excellent. The Guide and his guitar accompanist had everyone singing and feeling the Christmas spirit. We ran the Art Museum steps to see the giant Christmas tree, walked around Smedly street and drove down 13th street. I would definitely go on one of their historical tours or even their fake history tour since they are also comedians.

My love and I did this for the first time this past Christmas (our first Christmas together) and due to our directions (phones fault!) we went WAY out of the way and into Jersey once we got back wed missed our bus! The owner was FANTASTIC and figured a way for us to ride the next one and it was so very worth it. It was fun, we sang, we saw beautiful lights, even in the rain the driver and all on board were full of smiles and joy. We made all the stops, had wonderful pizza, and saw some beautiful sights! It was an overall wonderful night and we cant wait to do it again this Christmas! I think we made our own little tradition and I thank them for that beautiful experience :-*

Their holiday tour was extremely festive, with wonderful live music, they have clearly put a lot of effort into coordinating and choosing their staff for these events. It was quite busy and they made the most of bad situations out of their control due to weather etc. The staff and owner are clearly passionate about what they do. We may consider some of there other non seasonal tours.

THE BEST! We are originally from the area and came back for the weekend with friends visiting for the first time. Founding Footsteps was perfect for all of us. It was the best way to both see the city for the first time and also learn new facts about Philadelphia history. Tim was great!! He was so knowledgable and really made it fun. I would highly recommend this tour!!!!

Had such a good time on the tour. Tim was truly hilarious and has such an east coast sense of humor and pace! I felt immersed in the culture for sure. There are so many locals on the tour and returning customers that you know it’s going to be amazing. One of the most hilarious parts is that the pedestrians can hear everything he’s saying and are interactive as well. If you wanna see philly, get on this trolley!Thanks Tim and his trusty driver !

Tim was a great tour guide! It was clear to me that he loved his city and was very knowledgeable in Philly & American History. I enjoyed the places that Tim took us and background behind everything. We had people that didnt speak English and he helped them find a tour and walk them to it (not his tour) that could meet their needs, which I thought was very respectable. We also had people that were late to the tour and he walked back to go get them. I talked to him more and he has been doing tours for awhile and has created his own little business that he does in the summer (he is a middle school history teacher). I like supporting people/businesses like this!

My family and friends did the BYOB Christmas Lights Trolley tour on Sunday and it was an amazing experience. We all had a great time and plan on making it an annual tradition. I would highly recommend this to others!

We had a great time on our Beer & Band tour! Live music on a trolley around Philly and stops at Breweries and Beer Garden! I would definitely recommend.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the Walking Tour on November 9. We had a very long walk from the B&B where we stayed and were not sure we were up to the additional time walking. But the tour host Tim immediately lifted us from our funk with his great upbeat personality, common touch, historical knowledge of sites, and quick wit and good humor. This was much better than looking at sites from afar from a tour bus.We will be returning to check out founding footsteps other tour options.

Our group was disappointed in a few things but the owners are extremely professional and understanding.

Very disappointing. Did the Christmas trolley tour last year and loved it. This year was disappointing. It seems they’re trying to get as much money as possible and they are definitely cutting corners in the process. Didn’t go to stops they promised and overall I feel cheated.

Would highly recommend to everyone wanting to learn about Philadelphia or coming to the city for the first time. We had a good time. Host was honest, knowledgeable and witty.
