Very scenic! Nice, clean trails. You can stay on path... Or not! So far, everybody has been really nice and respectful. Parking is weird. But we will be back!
Friendly staff and beautiful open spaces. Really enjoyed our visit.
Stick to the gravel trail, all other riverside bike trails listed by Google are not maintained trails. They are more skin to streamside deer trail which tend to be covered in slick mud, angling towards the stream with many fallen trees, washouts, and barbed wire crossings. Plus theres no ability to get to the other side unlike it appears.
I love the trail. Had a great walk.
Great place for hike n bike trails love the country with wildlife park
Not the best bike trail in Houston, significant portion (around 3 miles) of the trail runs next to Red Bluff road which is the main downside. Looks like well maintained, as others mentioned avoid after rain since it gets muddy. I am yet to explore some other smaller bike paths paralleling the beginning section of the trail.
Beautiful location that allows you to embrace natures beauty and forget you are still in a massive city. Saw numerous coastal birds .
The trail and park ate clean and well kept. My family enjoyed our walk and we will continue to walk the trail
Great park/ trails to really brighten up your day. There is a man made trail to walk on but you can wander off if it onto a more picturesque nature trail to the side . The fresh air is great and its cyclist friendly. They dont allow motorized vehicles but the trails go on for miles. I dont recommend going right after a storm because it will be pretty muddy.
Well maintained, short trail. We got lucky and saw a deer.
Nice park for biking and hiking . There is little trails in the back of the tree if you decided to walk around it dont forget repellent because is alot mosquitos .
The place was awesome nice long trails and a good track also a big park for the kids to play on
I really enjoy being outdoors Ive always enjoyed this park
Cute place good for a nice ride. Good trails.
It is a nice path to go for a walk on. I normally see some wild life by the river. It is a shame how many people come here for photos and do not clean up after themselves or use glitter on the trail
Great place to take the family for a bike ride. Relaxing. You Can stay on the path or go off the path to ride the trails.
A great time with kids, clean environment. Nice well maintained playground with play kit and an impressive parking.
Cool place to venture off at
Nice place to bring a pet
Nice surprise hiking trail kind of in the middle of 2 neighborhoods. Bike path and another slightly off the beaten path trail. Litter need to be picked up but the paths are well kept
Need to be cut more often but good place for a quick ride
Love this park nice and shady
There is a walking trail and a biking trail which is located right next to the bayou, youll more than likely see armadillo, turtles and fish if youre walking slow enough.
Cool place with mostly gravel paths. There is a small string of single path that runs directly next to the bayou though. These are fast and flowing, without too many technical spots. Ill be back again!
Was great place to ride my mountain bike even in the rain.
5 mile run. Beautiful scenery. Found secret trail on the back of main trails. Will return!
Gravel path for walking and riding aswell as great dirt trails which I enjoy mountain biking on. Well kept and on the bayou which is very relaxing. By the same token... these trails get very muddy after a storm so keep the weather in mind.
Fun singletrack, but lots of pedestrian traffic exploring the bike trails.
Not bad trails but as like most places in houston a lot of the trails are either dirt or shale, not much of it is paved. They do go on for a pretty good distance but you will find that some of the trails abruply end and you will be forced to turn around. A good amount of shade from the sun in kost areas and usually not to many people around so its a nice relaxing spot to take a walk or go for a decent ride through the trees, next to the water. Look out for snakes. I see one almost every time we go, last time there was a big one.
Awsome
Very peaceful
My favorite trail
Great place to go for a walk and talk. I had an excellent adventure exploded
One of the prettiest places in South East houston
Love it Its far from me but i go there because it has it all for me and for my kids as well i have 4 kids but i can do excisées while the kids also play . its one hours and half minutes from me but i go because i can watch my kids and do excisées
Im unsure of I took a wrong direction while experiencing this hiking trail. But it was a short walk and very pleasant.
The trail seems to end abruptly in places and I couldnt find where the 5 miles were to run.
I went running here for the first time Friday Nov. 17. I only go running early in the morning therefore, I went as soon as they opened. I was even there before the park ranger who opens the gate. It is a very nice trail, nice and scenic. I am so thankful that I did not have any encounters with snakes and I hope I never do. On my way back to my car from the Red Bluff side where the path cuts through the backyards of houses, I saw a bunch of deer that were eating grass. There was a doe and her fawn. I kept running when I saw them, they finally moved when I was only 5 feet away from them. I am so glad I found a new running path as to I personally need to keep changing my paths or I will get bored. Furthermore I like to explore.
I come here multiple times a week at all times of the day, it’s really a gorgeous trail for it’s proximity. Highly recommended, it’s a great place. Beware of snakes though, they’re everywhere! Wear pants!
Excellent
Well maintained trails that you could walk/run/bike! Moderately busy, but not overcrowded.
This has been one of my favorite trails for years. Its grown a lot since about 2009 when I started walking here. Lock up your car. Lots of folks get robbed at these trail. Pasadena is full of trashy people unfortunately and has been for years.
Went for the first time road the path to Red Bluff . Dont know the milage.. Loved it.
Probably the best bike trail in the area. Just dont go after a rainfall.
Beautiful trail!
Good jogging, biking trail for mileage. For the most part its clean but I have noticed many photography done there and it would be nice if they pick up after themselves, ballons confetti ect..We also seen a tortoise which was pretty cool.
Great place to ride your bike and just enjoy a nice walk/run! Didn’t run into any snakes like the sign says
Great walking/running paths. Wide open for near any outdoor activity
Peaceful hiking trails.
Pretty good :D
Love running here! Best place to walk/run peacefully.
Amazing trails and scenary! Really diverse wildlife, saw lots of paw prints, birds, lizards, and a snake shedding. Highly recommend!!
Very nice and shaded gravel trail lil diff than used to but its worth going and having a ride just dont go off the beaten trail unless your a very good rider Im not and took a bad spill on a deep drop LoL but still enjoyed the trail enough that Ill be going back
Mosquito infestation made it unable to complete the trail
MOSQUITOS SWARMED AT US NOT GOOD WALK TRAIL DURING RAINY DAYS
Good walking trail through the woods. Stroller and wheelchair friendly. Shaded trails. Bikes permitted. Packed gravel trail. No restrooms except for at park trail goes to.
This is a nice area. I dont like the dirty looks from the bike riders when you get in their way. We went out with a group of girls to get them outdoors and do something educational. Apparently it was a huge inconvience for some of the bike riders. They are 5-6 year olds so we did our best to keep the group together and out of everyones way.
Its a great trail...many miles of good hiking...plenty of plant and bird life...and if lucky you can see a small herd of deer grazing...
I love the trail and seeing the turtles and rabbits. They also have a play ground for the kids.
Great for 5 mile runs
Great shaded walking trails. Plenty of wildlife around if you pay attention.
Awesome love the trails. Going again soon.
I can take the kids to walk the trails. We usually eat a snack and explore, they love seeing the lizards snakes birds insects etc.
Nice trails for walking, good bike trails too. Covered play areas for kids, restrooms and benches.
Good
Great place to go for a walk or run:) They allow bikes and dogs on leashes. Very pretty:)
Great trail! We had a great time riding our bikes.
I have considered moving homes to be closer to this trail. It is well maintained and very pleasant
So I foolishly thought that by training on this trail, Id be super prepared for my Bastrop trail 25k race. I was super wrong. This is not a technical trail by any means. But being a trail running newbie, I didnt know that, and its totally not these trails fault I had no clue what I was getting myself into (thats a different review for a different day). But its still a fantastic running/walking path with enough miles to get your long runs in.The only thing thats tough is that there are very few bathrooms on the trail; only porta potties at Big Island Slough, which are sometimes clean and sometimes not. Pro tip: it doesnt matter if you carry wet wipes. The others are Holly Bay Park, which are actual inside bathrooms, and of course the Valero at Bay Area and Red Bluff. The water fountains are few and far between as well, also at Big Island Slough and Holly Bay Park, and of course water for purchase at Valero. Typically, for my long runs, I park at the Fairmont trail head, and run out, then come back in and fill my water bottles back at my car from my RTIC cup, then head back out, sometimes over to Holly Bay if I need the bathrooms. Most of the trails are nice and flat and smooth with crushed gravel, but I still wear trail gaiters as I hate rocks in my shoes. Like I said, its a zero for difficulty, but if you need some short hill work, the culverts a couple of mines in from the Fairmont Parkway parking lot is ok. Some of the bike trails look a little more hilly but of course, you have to watch for the cyclists!I really enjoy running here, although its about a 20 minute drive. I feel safe, and its easier on my knees than the pavement. I wish there were more bathrooms, but I can usually deal. All in all, this is a great place to run and a hidden gem in the area. Or maybe not hidden, except to me!
Great place to jog, walk and bike!!
Great trail for runing... just remember to wear bug repellant.
Great for mountain bikes!
Amazing place
Great trails! No convenient water stations, tho.
I like being outdoors and this trail is as close to the woods Im gonna get around here. The kids love it they call it The jungle park, close to home, they have benches here and there if you need to rest.
I am training for a hike of the Appalachian Trail. I have found some of the terrain here to be just challenging enough to be beer helpful.
Love the trails for hiking, biking or running
Awesome bike trails!!
Wonderful place to get away and run with nature
Great trek
