I was here on 10/3/2020.Easy to find and park, street parking.Residential neighborhood, it is super bright. There is a lovely story about PG butterflies house. It’s so sweet and true love.I can not wait to share the story and the house with my daughters. It is easy Walker or driving from Pacific Grove.Worth a detour.
What a magical house! This house makes you feel happy just by standing in front of it! Theres a beautiful love story behind this house!
Beautiful and neat house. A local gem
This ”attraction” is not only an awe-inspiring sight to see it has an extremely awe-inspiring history behind it as well; and it’s not to serve as a tribute to Pacific Grove and their claim to being the “Butterfly Town U.S.A”!!J Jackson and his wife Sonja purchased this house in 1976 and over 20 years ago his wife had begun to lose her sight. She was able to see bright colors and he began creating artwork for her with extremely bright colors and large details. THEN he began placing them on the outside of his home to serve as a beacon for Sonja when she went out for walks. There are soooo many other cool facts to look into but there’s the basic for you!
Amazing beautiful creative. With a beautiful story of true love
This house is so neat. I took my mom to Monterrey for the day and was looking for different things to see.I found this place and took here here. It is amazing. The guy has been working on the house for 25 years. His wife because she became blind so he did this for her.You can buy a butterfly and put it on the wall...the money goes to a blind charity around the corner from his house.Im glad I came by and spoke with the man.
Well done decorations. Overly political.
Super cute house. I wouldnt go out of my way but if youre walking nearby, check it out. Very cute and fulfilling a great service as a non profit for butterfly conservation.
★The BUTTERFLY HOUSE & A LOVE STORY★I was taking pictures pictures with my mini tripood outside the BUTTERFLY HOUSE when the door opened when the Butterfly man opened the door and said Hi!Im the butterfly man. I saw you in my camera and you looked so pretty that I had to say hi. Lets take a picture together so you can tell everyone that you met the Butterfly ManI was so HAPPY! I asked him Why he built the house and he said...20 years ago the doctors told to his wife that she was going blind and she could only see bright colors . He was a veteran and inspired by his travels, especially in India, he started to built the butterfly house with colorful butterflies so his wife could see them...His wife today is blind and she cant see anymore the bright colors but she can touch the butterflies and feel.He is still working on the house and he did all of it...for his wife.Such an inspiration!October 13,2018
This is one of those things that an opinion is kind of in the eye of the beholder. Its a bit over the top for me, but certainly worth cruising by and putting a check mark in the box that says youve been there. It is ornately decorated with every square foot seemingly adorned.
Cool place
The place looks so very beautiful from the outside if you love butterflies.
Beautiful place, especially at night.
Beautiful house, i had the chance to talk to the owner, his name is Jay, he said that he took 25 years to builit it
Awesome . A must visit at night while its all lit up. Extraordinary place, and I love the story behind it.
Nice place to visit.Colors combination are fine.
Awesome, wonderful art work makes me smile everyone should see this house
Super cute spot I found by accident. Check it out!!
Fantastic! I got lucky and got to meet the artist behind this house.
A beautiful home done with love. Butterflies adorn this home in honor of the woman who lives here. It is worth tracking down. if you visit, please respect the fact this is someones private residence.
Cool looking house with a meaning
Veri different u have to see
Visit it. Great story.
Interesting place, but Google has the location wrong. The butterfly house is on 9th. Not to be confused with the totally different butterfly house on the coast in Carmel (no butterflies there - its a reference to the roofline).
Amazing. The owner is sweet.
More is not better.
